this video is about gucci pineapple, a tiktok guy, who made a song that people hate. who cares new dev limes: • There's No "Right" Way... new greenisnotnick: • Video original tiktok: www.tiktok.com...
Its so funny that people are getting upset that hes 'ruining' her voice, like GUYS, you dont need to defend her!?!?!😭 she chose to make the song w him???!!! She doesnt think it ruins it!!!
Sometimes when I can’t sleep at night I can’t help but imagine a universe where he didn’t say us. It’s a very dark time for me. Thank goodness he said us
Gucci (the guy in the video), is an incredibly sweet, funny and creative person. The song is supposed to be funny, that’s the kind of stuff he makes. It makes me so sad that people are making fun of him
I met this guy a couple years ago when he was playing outside of a CVS in Boston. We talked for a bit, and he was so sweet and fun. These people are so annoying. How do you get upset over a song about trader joes like come on man ahahah this is ridiculous
ppl are so cruel about artists trying to be unique. like his voice sounds goofy to me and i would think the song was bad because of that but the contrast makes it feel more interesting. hope this guy is doing ok after all of the hate
The passion nick and dev feel for this topic makes me feel like dev is the ethereal vocalist and nick is the nasaly dweeb (in the best of ways!!! They are best friends!!!)
i don't know if people on tiktok were calling him a dweeb or if y'all called him a dweeb but it's the perfect word he is so dweeb and i mean that so lovingly. for every ryan gosling with "kenergy" we got guys like him who have dweebergy, and that's beautiful
I actually really like his winey voice, like it reminds me of Hot Freaks, or Mickey Darling, or literally any Midwestern Emo band and I really like the contrast between her soft, airy voice and his nasley, goofy voice. Honestly I think their voices work really well off each other.
Its one of those songs that you play because its funny, its not even bad at all, a bad song would be unplayable, but at least you can still have fun with this
as a longtime fan of gucci pineapple, its very funny that people don't get that this is his entire schtick. its relieving to see that at least a few other people got the joke.
Do people just not understand the double act anymore? This is a classic funny man and straight man bit. The contrast is the whole point. It's like turning a Key and Peele skit into a song. Wild how many people missed this
I agree with you guys his voice adds a right energy to the song. Sure people may not like it but as some who listen to the kind of genre of music they are making I enjoy it!
Just went and followed this guy. If you go back past the trader joe's stuff he's a great drummer and makes awesome slow jazz with a couple other people. Glad this video led me to him
no i love music like this?? like how do people hate on silly or crackly or 'bad' voices in songs especially when its on purpose, it adds emotions to it
So one of my favorite things is singing, and i honestly love to see people singing no matter how good they are. singing is a really fun thing and i’d rather have people sing and get better then have them not sing at all.
same here singing is the one thing i feel remotely competent in. my friends convinced me to do karaoke for my 21st and i did really bad bc the key was unexpectedly so much higher than it should have been and i couldn’t reach the notes 💀 but i had a lot of fun! and the people in the bar were having fun (by which i mean they weren’t mean and still clapped and smiled haha) so whatever 😅
This guy is actually super sick. He does a lot of cool covers of songs and is just a nice guy in his other videos. The voice is just his actual voice too which is wild lol.
I don't understand how you are shocked by this. This is the same internet that relentlessly bullied Rebecca Black because she released a bad song. The *motto of the internet is "Never try anything ever because people will hate you no matter what"
no yr so right - bc another recent artist that's WAYY crazier n alt than these two - soddikken , made a bunch of music and they were getting bullied and shittalked so fucking hard on tiktok it was non-stop hate ajr and soddikken are two of my fave modern artists ever who do such a uniquely-them thing but they get fucking bullied so much on tiktok n youtube :/
@@luciferswaltz yeah it sucks because like it is ok to not like music or an artist but to like be so hateful just because their music was not someone's liking is crazy. It is also funny because the same people that like cyber stalk and dox people for being mean online (and to be clear by "mean" I mean like the people who were like slightly mocking that girl for filming a TikTok not like actually being mean) and act as like vigilantes against bullying are the same people who as soon as they hear some one made a bad song immediately bully them. It is a vicious cycle. In a world where everyone desires to be known, to be invisible is a blessing.
She was a bad singer in that song. Like her vocals were bad and it was mixed horribly. It’s okay to acknowledge this, and it’s ok to not rock with stuff and voice that why not? But to be ruthless is weird
If Gucci Pineapple has 100 fans i am one of them If Gucci Pineapple has 1 fans it is me If Gucci Pineapple has 0 fans I am dead I love that guy so much. The way he hypes up old ppl and mailmen, he is incredibly wholesome.
i actually really fucking love their juxtaposition and they go really good together, especially in the context of the song :D they immediately brought a big smile to my face!
Mad respect to Gucci pineapple. We're from the same hometown, him and his brother are super well respected local jazz musicians Fun fact, they hosted Anthony fantano for a jamm session 😭😭😭
I 100% took this song as a commentary on the types of people who go to Trader Joe’s. Like this is the combination of every straight het couple I’ve been and known who frequent Trader Joe’s.
dev is so passionate about it I love it so much because this is exactly me overanalysing a 15 sec tik tok because when you watch it too many times it becomes a cultural phenomenon to me
You know that scene in Brooklyn 99 where Kevin and Jake go to the library dressed as pervs so everybody leaves? The mushy pumpkin pie man gives me those vibes (not in a bad way I luv mushy man tons)
he’s friends with a guy who went to my highschool, ik its not that cool but i followed him and i saw that guy and i liked him even more. its so sad to hear he’s getting hate
I looked them up and they both make individual music. her name is cinya kahn and he is in a band called dana and alden. The way they both sound together though they should definitely create more music together omg🤭
@@martinfuchs8329 fr I need to listen to more of their music. That kind of music is so good tho. It’s such a good like background while drawing/writing.
because it’s just really not funny. his other stuff is though. we live in the same town and it’s just kinda cringe.. he’ll come into my work and try to distract us or make jokes and it’s just inappropriate and nobody laughs and it’s really really awkward for everyone. and if you know me i laugh at everyone and everything. it just gets to a point where the character he’s playing is getting old
i go to the same music school he just graduated from. we had a class together last semester and he would do the same thing - always making jokes, trying to film during class, and distracting from the lessons. i’m glad to hear that his content is really positive and wholesome and i don’t think that he deserves to be absolutely shit on, but it’s interesting to see the disconnect between an internet persona and the real life person
I love how the voice contrast plays with the contrast in the first two lyrics. *serious* You're as sweet as lemon tea~ *not-so-serious* You're mushy as pumpkin pie~
the first time i listened to this song i fell in love. their voices fit together so perfectly and i love them. it makes me so sad that people are bullying this sweet guy
The thing about this TikTok is it's not just "girl does a surprisingly earnest take on goofy song about Trader Joes" or "goofball sings a wack song" it's BOTH done AT ONCE. The contrast adding new dimensions to both aspects!
I feel like if you process the vocals just a tiny bit more to blend it people would be eating that shit up like it's yoghurt. It honestly feels like like a song from the mid 2000s that got popular because of the contrast in the vocal tones.
