Someone. Please. Make. It. Stop.
I am SO BORED of all these videos where people say “vegetables are poison” and “vegetables are toxic”. It’s ridiculous.
Here is what they are doing:
If you zoom in closely enough on ANY food, you can find things in it that sound scary. You can do this with fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, grains, anything.
The real question is, how much does this matter?
For example, yes plants may have “defense chemicals”, but does that make eating them a net negative?
We know that people who eat vegetables tend to live longer, and people who eat more vegetables also tend to be healthier.
So, if they are poisoning us, they are doing a truly terrible job.
Now, you might personally not want to eat more vegetables. For example some people who eat a lot more might notice stomach issues, like flatulence.
But, even if you are someone who doesn’t want to eat a lot of vegetables, surely we can all agree that calling them “poison” is the worst form of unnecessary food fearmongering. Right?
Don't trust people who use unnecessarily vague and scary language. They don't care about educating you. They care about clicks.
P.S. My best-selling book, ‘Everything Fat Loss’ is currently on sale as a brand-new audiobook, plus digital/print versions from Barnes and Noble, Apple, Kobo, Google, and Amazon with an extra 10% off in the USA and an extra 37% off in Canada. Feel free to grab it before the price goes up.
