This is a video for Gary Brecka.
Gary seems to have made a lot of videos containing information that is… a smidge questionable?
Some favorites include telling people that “ice baths are the fastest way to strip fat off your body”, that it takes “three minutes to liquefy lean muscle”, “fibromyalgia doesn’t exist” and you can “restructure” water using your magic wand, whatever that is.
Now, myself and other people have responded to some of these claims in the past.
But, here he is repeating one that myself, and several other people, have talked about previously.
And this one is fun, because this has actually been tested before. Many research studies have compared the glycemic impact of eating fruit whole or drinking it as a blender smoothie.
And guess what? Most of the time, it appears to make very little difference.
If blending a banana quadrupled the blood glucose response, in theory you could get the same effect from… chewing? After all, a banana is going to happily turn to mush in your mouth anyway.
In some instances, the blood glucose responses from blended fruit are actually lower than whole fruit, possibly because the seeds that some fruits contain.
Basically, Gary is talking nonsense, again.
And if he cared about providing you accurate information more than podcast clicks, he would probably correct himself.
No?
Comedically, even though he has said this multiple times, he is now selling his own 'perfect amino smoothie' at Erewhon, which contains multiple fruits. You just can't make this stuff up lol.
P.S. My best-selling book, ‘Everything Fat Loss’ is currently on sale as a brand-new audiobook, plus digital/print versions from Barnes and Noble, Apple, Kobo, Google, and Amazon with an extra 43% off in Canada. Feel free to grab it before the price goes up.
