I found the up down position on your face based on the head band position and tightness by far the most critical. If it’s off just a tiny amount it’s entirely blurry with major color fringing (blue red edging). And that is a manual adjustment just moving the whole thing up or down and having the head band positioned on the back of your head to maintain that sweet spot. Really important.

That works for me. I have to have the headset quite high and the band at the back quite low. That is my sweet spot. It’s perfect.

So true, I found out that yesterday. I was perfectly happy with the fidelity to begin with, but then I was trying to get more comfortable and puled the back strap up, which brought the lenses closer to my eyes at a little angle and I was blown away, the picture became perfectly clear. Also, that lens adjusting, I do it manually every time now. It is like using a binocular. When you put it on, just play with it up and down until you get that sweet point

In GT7, if you are too low or too close to the dash in the cockpit you can easily adjust this in game. Just do the opposite to what you want while holding the start button. If you're too low, squat a little in your seat while holding the start button, this will reset your position and raise your viewpoint. Lean forward a little and hold start to move your viewpoint further back

In GT7 the default position seems like it's closer to the wheel, it doesn't feel like i seeing through the drivers helmet but a camera in front of his chest

Also this is for GT7 specifically I went to in-game display settings and put Exposure and Saturation all the way up and that has improved the PQ for me (looked a lot more grainy and dark before that). Plus if you haven't done so I would recommend going to PS5 sound settings and from memory I think I changed 3D audio to the Higher option (might depend on individual). Everything sounds a lot better VR replays mode especially once I changed that.

I tried and it wouldn't let me adjust any sound settings. It was greyed out and said not available while using psvr2. 🤔 What headset were you using the plug in jack on headset or the pulse 3d headset?

@@SimChaserRoseRacer I think it might be because the game is open. Quit the game and then press the options button on the game and close it completely. Then go into sound settings and you should be able to make the changes.

@@Grandmasterjord I had quite a bit of trouble setting it up / scanning the room and everything , not sure if it was due to light or space but after quite a few tries (and headaches) I got it to work. Still recovering from the headaches but the racing has been unreal so far !

This is my first real VR system....i messed with the original Oculus a decade ago and didnt care for it much then. .....Im in LOVE! Im having a blast with the VR2. Pavlov is so much fun and addicting. Literally CS:GO in VR. I cant wait till this game is fully ported for 24 player support and crossplay. GT7 is phenomenal. Racing is a whole new experience in VR that makes me never want to go back to a 2D TV screen again. Lots of solid content that can keep your attention for months to come. And yes, the PSVR2 is not perfect by any means. I have criticisms. But the experience FAR exceeds the issues. As a new VR players, Im extremely excited for the future of this technology.

Amazing hardware. I had a Varjo for my PC, it had an adjustment on each side of the headset that tightened the lower portion of the headset to keep it very snug to your face. I feel the PSVR2 needs this. I think the sweet spot is small so you need a very secure headset to not lose it. Not sure if this is making sense.

@@kangjames2492 I sold it after the Quest Pro went on sale for those 3 days a few weeks ago. I was having a hard time finding the sweet spot and when I use driving sim it was getting blurry. The Quest Pro is way lower resolution but the lenses give a way bigger sweet spot for me. The really cool thing on the Pro is wireless if you like Alyx and NMS. the PSVR 2 has a really bad sweet spot too but it's really good to me for the price. Gran and Resident are both really fun on it

That 120 hertz does help and it helps a lot but it only helps on 2D games and like you said you cannot project to the screen while doing it. But for somebody that's not running a monitor being able to run 120 without having to buy a whole new television is super helpful

Cheers for the video. My only tip for the play area that I've found is be careful when a race is starting. If you lean forward you will be further back in the car. Sometimes so much so that you can see inside the drivers body. Mess about in the car moving and holding the "options" button. When you know where the exact right place is. Go and manual set your play area in the PS menu. When you start a race sitting in your normal position you will be in the right place.

Hi and thanks for the video Am interested in buying psvr2 but am waiting to see if more games come out that match that of the 3 showcase games ie horizon ,re8, switchback as the rest don’t really impress me from a graphical standpoint as being a lot better than the psvr 1 . But in the meantime as field of view is important for me how did you find the fov compared to psvr1 - is it a lot better or only slightly ? The fov of the psvr1 was an issue for me even though I could get a slight bit more if I really pushed my eyes against the lens but I could then see the screen edges so am hoping that the psvr2 might have 2 screens so this doesn’t happen . Also a lot of people on Reddit are complaining that once they played horizon the fov reduced quite a bit and even when they reset there psvr headsets it was still there - did you experience that by any chance ? Just 1 thing I would like to mention, this is my 1st PlayStation (I finally converted after 22 years as a hardcore diehard Xbox weenie) so I don't know if PSVR 1 was like this or not, but with PSVR 2 after it's setup, you no longer need a TV or monitor. Everything regardless of whether it's VR or not can be used with the PSVR 2. Obviously the VR titles run in VR mode, but all other titles & apps will run in Cinema mode. I don't know if that's a feature most people will like or not. For me it's very appealing, because I can kick back in my adjustable bed with the headset on & play VR, Non-VR games & watch streaming content from Netflix, Paramount+, Apple TV+, Disney+, Prime, RU-vid TV, etc. It really allows you to truly escape into your own personal immersive world. I am also using a pair of Sony INZONE H9 ANC PS5 Gaming Headphones instead of the included earbuds.

The ipd adjustment (eye distance) is a major one, also the headset height relative to your eyes. If either of these is off it can make a big difference. The center of the lenses need to be where your pupils are naturally facing forward. Sometimes pushing the headset up/down a bit then tightening it in place helps. I find this easiest to do looking at a menu or something with a lot of text so I can visualise how clear it is for me. This is worth doing before you start playing, or after playing something quite active for a while as its easy for things to move a bit sometimes. If this is your first VR headset, this is just something that hapens with any headset to some degree to be honest, as they all need the lenses to be in that sweet spot. The psvr2 ipd setting is just particularly easy to knock out of place with that little scroll wheel being so sensitive. It's good you can adjust it so accurately, unlike the quest 2 for example but unfortunate it can't be locked once you're happy with it. It becomes second nature after a while to check 😁 Also some of these settings can be accessed in-game by pressing (not hold) the PS button on either controller, then you'll see the psvr quick settings option. Handy if you need to adjust a bit on the fly!

Yeah I've had issues with it losing tracking for some reason so this is helpful. It seems to be when the headset can't find the controllers. Also, this is a minor gripe but the PS button is so easy to accidentally hit. I liked how the quest 2 has a place for your thumb with no buttons so you can grip properly. I think it's just a matter of retraining though. Overall loving all the improvements to VR. Particularly the kickass HDR screen with perfect blacks.

@@karl343 I have all my lights on and it's still hit and miss, though there is an option to turn on a thing if you have tracking issues, it puts a pattern on the TV so the headset can easily track that if nothing else. Haven't had any issues since switching that on.

When setting the lens distance I can get my right eye perfectly centered. My left eye though always points left, away from the center. I wonder if I’m just learning that maybe I have a lazy eye. Or could there be a faulty sensor or something in the headset that’s not tracking that eye correctly?

Same. I’m just going to try and get used to and ignore it. I’m getting really bad motion sickness and I may stick to indie and smaller games for vr if motion sickness doesn’t go away. I just played for 15 mins on resident evil village and even now, I feel dizzy and sick.

Don't keep chasing the dragon. I did for 3 days. Returned it on day 4. People saying it clear are just accepting the blurry image. Look how many people are saying no screen door effect when any of us with half decent vision can see it clearly. There's a a lot of super invested people who really wanted psvr2 to be the VR to get mass adoption. It won't.

Double clicking the PS button brings up the quick menu immediately. From there it is auto selecting "check surroundings", click X without moving the stick at all. The action is quick and smooth: double click PS, then immediately click X. Much faster than fumbling for the button under the headset. Turn that to mute, its a lifesaver

One of my favorite things I like to do is when I want to rest or share I step out of my safety are and you go through your boundaries the outside camera comes on and the game pauses. I can take off the gear...and let's say if I'm showing a guest they can put on the gear and adjust . Then as they beck into the boundary it's not as shocking and restart play...It really is cool. .but if you climb that rock wall in Horizon ..don't look back down over your shoulder..holy crap

Full respect for your vids. A wealth of genuine, self learned information re: PSVR2, freely, and more importantly, entertainingly shared. You've convinced me to go VR, all for the right reasons...the 3D immersive experience. I'll never be a millionaire, I'll never be able to buy most of these cars (I do drive one of my dream cars though, a 350Z HR), but from what you've shared I know I can be a virtual millionaire, and experience the joy of what I would spend my millions on if I had🙃 (positive affirmations byatch, WHEN I have) millions! I’ve put piece of electrical tape, like a Band-Aid plaster, over the wheel dial to lock it in place, on top of the headset as you know if you accidentally movie it means you I’ve got to try find sweet spot again,

Do you have the screen drifts issue on the Main page, world map or anything that is not in VR play? I even noticed a bit off in the VR online races, it is like I am sitting either to a bit right or left of the seat, and I have to re-center it.

I can confirm the same problem. It's annoying when you sit slightly to the left or right of the steering wheel and have to reset the view in the race. I don't understand that.

Every time it switches between 3D and 2D, it auto-centers based on where your head is at. Learn when it does the changeover and get in the habit of placing your head in the same area every time.

Does it also centre in GT7 in the pause menu when I'm already sitting in the car? Or to put it another way: How can I force the centring without having to hold down the Select button every time? I also often find that the picture is slightly offset in the menu, for example, and I have to re-centre it on me again and again with Select. To be honest, I haven't yet understood exactly where this happens. Or what I did before.

The first thing people should do is test it with something other than Horizon: Call of the Mountain. That game uses very aggressive Depth of Field and Level of Detail, and the only things that will look clear are right in front of your face. I know that seems like strange advice given that it's part of the launch bundle, but trust me, that game isn't helping this blurriness conversation at all. I have found that when it comes to the initial impression, Cosmonius High of all things looks incredibly sharp and vibrant. Once you've seen how it CAN look, what Horizon does makes more sense and feels natural.

To me, close objects like a bow or a hand in COFT look blurry when you get close. They are not totally blurry, just a little, it reminds me of when you put your camera to a near object and it can't quite get the focus right. It doesn't matter how much you mess with the settings. GT7 however looks a little better but still struggles with close objects a bit.

@@arthurmorgan6391 If you've made all the adjustments and you're still struggling, I hate to say it but you might need to get your eyes checked. I think a lot of people are going to find out their eyes have been overcompensating for a long time, and it's harder for them to do that in VR.

@@RobStevens64 what exactly should be wrong with the eyes to cause this? My vision is absolutely perfect in my daily life and I can see everything perfectly fine, very close and very far. The very close objects in VR do focus sharper for me with either one of my eyes closed.

@@arthurmorgan6391 I didn't know I needed reading glasses until my wife pointed out one day that I was holding my phone at arm's length to read it. My brain just compensated for me. Turns out your eyesight can change very fast, mine had been perfect just a year earlier. In VR, you have a fixed focal length. Your eyes aren't constantly adjusting to near and far and in-between, which can mask issues. Also you may have one good eye and one bad eye, and the good eye can often mask the issue. It's harder for it to compensate when the focal lengths for both are fixed. In my case, my left eye was still pretty good, but my right eye got significantly worse. I just never noticed how much my left was picking up the slack, with my brain filling in the rest.

@@RobStevens64 this all makes sense, thanks for sharing. I will definitely get them checked sometime. I am just very aware of what I can see, from what distance, with which eye and so, and I see no problems in any scenario, practically they can do anything for me, at least for now. So I suspect that maybe I’m just demanding too much from the VR clarity or maybe my perception of super sharpness was spoiled by my C1 oled tv, lol! 😂

The 120 Hz mode is for flat Gamez only not vr mode plz read description not 100% clear I know. which is why tv turns black when it's on.

I've just had to accept the PSVR2 is just not as good as I had hoped it would be. Coming from a Pimax 8K to it is a backwards step and it is disappointing but I just can't justify the extra expense of PC VR gaming and I think the PSVR2 is just good enough. The FOV is perfect for me, not once have I thought it feels too small. I just hate the grainy look to everything, even the Pimax was not really as sharp as I wanted and I was looking forward to the next Pimax and it does suck a bit to go backwards. But when I think about the cost of the next Pimax and the cost of the PC I need to run it and think about how much fun I'm already having PSVR gaming, I think I can live with the PSVR2 for now.

If you want to mute your mic and still keep the “view surroundings” setting, you can: Go into the function button setting Hit the mute your mic option Go out of the function button setting Then hit the function button to mute your mic Go back into the function button setting Switch it back to “view surroundings” Leave settings and play your game Now you have the mic muted and you can still check your surroundings whenever You’ll know the mic is muted bc the icon will pop up when you do it and the mic will stay muted till you change it or turn off/sleep your PS5 😊

Doo rag or some other device that wraps smoothly around your head. It will extend the life of you headset padding dramaticially.s I wrap the padded parts in pantyhose to reduce the breakdown from head/hair oils.

With some practise, you wont need the adjustment programm. Trust your eyes. Push the dial and when it has become sharp enough - let it go. A more problematic thing is, when you push the headset as close as possible to your face, your nose might touch accidently the lenses, pushing them back into another IDP-value.

Don't give too many people false hope. There's plenty of us out there who consider what the psvr2 is offering as unacceptable. I spent 3 entire days maybe 30 hours all up testing and trying to get it all going perfectly. When I realized I did have it running perfectly the whole time I was super dissapointed. Returned mine after 3 days. Underwhelming on every level.

You're still wearing diving glasses, the mura, the graininess, the motion blur, just search any video for the PSVR 2 and you will see everybody say the same, unless they are paid shills, which quite a lot are. You WILL NOT get an honest review then. I own the PSVR 2. My advice, just accept it. It is what it is. The more you play it the less you pay attention to those things because your brain starts to block them out. But goodness gracious were we all conned. Let's just be honest. If anybody tells you the PSVR 2 is great they are lying through their teeth. At best, it's decent. It is entry level VR at a very VERY steep price. That's it. I enjoy it. I enjoy it a lot in fact. I am also someone who speaks the truth. I don't sweep things under the rug. I want people to know what they are buying. Because it's not cheap at all. It is very VERY expensive. It is worth more than the PS5 itself. So I just want to make sure people have their expectations of the PSVR 2 in check!!!!!!!

I actually feel the exact same. My expectations were way too high. I was expecting 4k image, image quality is like 720p at best. You can still see the pixels. Sweet spot is tiny. Plus all the other aspects you mentioned. Every reviewer who got the headset before the launch made it sound like it was nearly perfect. It is not. It's actually not that much better than the PSVR1, image quality wise. The controllers are of course much better, and the fact that you only need the one cable plugged into the PS5. Also same as you, I am having a lot of fun, despite all that.But boy were we conned indeed.

Increased FOV will always result in less sharpness because you're dividing the resolution by a higher amount of places to display. It is what it is, I'd rather have the increased FOV for immersion Discernible pixelation won't go away until about 16K for colour or about 50K for black & white when pursuing healthy human FOV, this is something that was even well understood before VR was a thing simply because human vision is just that good People are only now starting to notice because we are only now strapping screens real close to our more complete field of view & people are expecting miracles when they need to be understanding that 4K per eye simply ain't enough & it's why lower FOV displays look shaper, none of this is Sonys fault because they are providing as darn good hardware as anyone could reasonably expect
