bizly fuckin kills it every time dude. entertaining visuals and funny bits that keep my attention while still cohesively getting the point across. absolute banger after banger im always hyped to hear his takes
im literally obsessed with your video style. how do you manage to be entertaing with topics i know nothing about while keeping my adhd attention yet not overwhelming me with visuals and words i dont know. literally a magician i am that happy kid in the audience when im watching a bizly chanel video
I totally agree. I just found this dude. His Star Wars video was recommended to me. I saw the length and was like “I’ll watch a few minutes” then 40 minutes flew by. Even though I disagreed on a few points, I just stayed engaged. I watched the more interesting topics to me like spiderman and Star Wars, but now I’m just watching the stuff that I didn’t think I’d care about because of how entertaining this dude is
Either that or just make an original story. Like it doesn't have to be a complete retelling of the entire game nor does it need to be a a reboot/remake in movie format. Instead they should take the route of a spin off story where the game characters are involved in another plot. Like what James gun plans to do with the dc franchise with joint game and movie universes.
I’m late but the argument about how games are much longer than the media it’s turned into, makes me stress for season 2 of TLOU. It takes like a full 24 hours to beat that game, I’m worried the show will not do it justice.
I think they’ll do it justice, season 1 was done perfectly and even elevated parts of last of us part 1. They utilized the time great turning 15 hours into 9 episodes with the only downside being a shorter finale than expected. Still became my favorite media regardless! Part 2 is more of a struggle because of the length (around 40 hours) so I agree it’ll be difficult but it’s been filmed already and the set pieces were recreated amazingly. So I’m certain they took time to make sure things would work. However, I’m not sure how much and what point they’ll split it at. I’m really excited to see the decisions they made.
On that ending statement, I can confirm, I really liked the original Mario Movie when I watched it as a kid. I'm barely even legally able to drive a car because of age requirements, and even still, I fondly remember watching the Mario animated series or whatever tf it was called as well as that movie and enjoying the hell out of it. I haven't watched either since then, but I can imagine that they'd bring waves of nostalgia along with them.
They suck because they take liberties with the source material and inject their own ideas in. I could forgive the Mario movie to a point, but some movies like Resident Evil (all of them) need to really study their lore better and worry about the difference between an Adaptation and an Interpretation.
Okay. That kick you did at the beginning was amazing. I love the editing you did with the goomba being flung out of frame. All the editing was hysterical, but that kick was the MVP. Hahaha. Great video!
Loved the "nonsensical video game character" Ty the Tasmanian Tiger cameo at 7:35, that guy was such a big part of my childhood :D (also 13:17 had me dying of laughter lmao)
The best videogame adaptation is for sure netflix's castlevania. In terms of movies I'm a big fan of the original live action street fighter 2 movie. Even if it's not well made it's a fun time
It's decently well made for what it is. The sets/costumes were well made, the directing isn't anything special but it's perfectly fine and the acting isn't tarantino level but it's not trying to be. It's a fairly well made movie it's just a really campy one
I look away for two seconds and when I look back it's just a close up of Bizly's face and "You're gonna come with me" Didn't know this channel did jumpscares now!
I wrote it that way to embody the journey fans have gone on over the last few years coming around to the idea of video game movies. Blah blah storytelling
Dude I have always hated video games movies for a lot of the reasons you said in this video but damn man at the end when you're talking about how they deserve to be made for the one kid in the audience it really hit me thank you for making me want to give them a second chance. Fantastic video.
honestly, based take. video game movie kinda suck, but ill always have a soft spot for the resident evil movies since i watched them so much as a kid and they were absolutely insane
Fun fact I was going to be a extra on the last of us. They were filming in the town I was living in at the time and the needed actors for zombies. I got the part but they forgot to call me back lmao
@@AnalCunt you cant judje a movie that isnt out yet just because fnaf has some young fans. My only concern is about the plot, because I feel that they will add Vanny to the movie, that is supposed to be about FNaF 1
The Harry Potter slander was absolutely deserved. I read the whole series and it was a waste of time. The Sonic and Mario praise was also well deserved, they knew what they were doing for sure
Recently found your channel from the Assassin's creed comparison video and I'm hooked. The funny bits are hilarious. Also, hope you came across Arcane. Another banger video game tv show adaptation
I hate to see how some movies failed after trying to achieve what Sonic did. Out of ones I watched, FNaF was decent as *a* (not *the*) FNaF movie, Borderlands honestly was mid (maybe even worse), upcoming Minecraft movie is SO bad I think not even redesign could save it from Jumanjiing.
Two of the best video game adaptations is the new mortal kombat and the Castlevania show both of them are amazing and I’m really excited for the new season of Castlevania and the second mortal kombat
my idea of a doom movie is hardcore henry (the first person action movie)… but doom (1993). like, the HUD bar from the dos game with the doomguy actor’s face in the middle part. plot is simple: 2 minutes of setup: doomguy beating up his c.o. for telling him to shoot protesters, doomguy getting his ass shipped to mars, uac teleporter accident, hell invades, doomguy gets told to guard the hangar, squad gets slaughtered and possessed, enter first person view, dramatic gun load, at dooms gate starts up, cue title. have a part where he quotes the old comic book while high on beserker pack and literally ripping and tearing his way through a pack of imps and pinkys, have the cyberdemon fight,. have the spider boss get blown up with the bfg, end with doomguy returning to earth, sees the wreckage of his house, finds daisy’s (his pet rabbit that dies at the end of the game) head on a pike and swearing revenge. cue end card: DOOMGUY WILL RETURN IN DOOM II: HELL ON EARTH
12:15 WHAT?! That’s not allowed! They may sue you or something… I don’t know, I just hate those people that laugh loudly and pretend to get every joke, along with those people that that copy LITERALLY EVERYTHING THATS SAID, WE HEARD IT…! Ahem… continue.
Honestly super agreeable take, I'm worried for the FNaF movie to come out because the gameplay is so repetitive how do you turn that into a game and have it make sense, plus it is way too complicated
Why I really like the Sonic and Mario movies is because they’re fun yeah they could’ve added more but what they had made me happy seeing these characters I loved through my baby years on the big boi screen made me happy
As much of a Sonic fan I am, it didn't break the video game movie curse by itself. Detective Pikachu was the first video game movie to really get the ball rolling, and I think it deserves a lot of credit in that regard. The ending segment of the video was also pretty touching.
as a die hard fan of Assassin's Creed I was that "one kid" in the audience when the movie came out, i'm not afraid to say that I genuinely enjoyed this movie
My buddy pointed out that fans were originally disappointed with the Watchmen movie because it doesn't commit to the original canon and I was like, "well duh, that's why they all suck." But then he not only pointed out what the original ending was but also what the general movie goer climate was in the time of 2009 and it made total sense. Spoilers ahead: the movie ends with an immortal hero actually being the villain and doctor Manhattan showing up at the end to save the day. The comics, however, end with a C'thulian tentacle monster doomsday scenario. Back in 09, the average audience weren't comic book fans, they were normies that watched normal movies. If Watchmen had commited to the canon in that climate, it would have been a box office failure so they had to think of a new ending that wouldn't scare people away. Nowadays with comic book movies being as popular and accepted as they are, they could get away with using the original ending instead. It was an interesting perspective that I don't think anyone really considers when it comes to these videogame movies. I bet it was a similar thing with the DOOM movie. Not that it was souless but because in the time it was made, you couldn't make a movie about Hell's bloody and brutal takeover of a space station with tons of satanic imagery, demonic influence, and graphic violence. It just wouldn't fly with audiences of the time. You had to make these kinds of movies with the understanding that the majority of the audience weren't even familiar with the source material to begin with and then go from there. In todays cinema, nobody bats an eye when your action movie includes gore and heavy dismemberment. Back then, those levels of intensity were reserved exclusively for horror movies. I think anyone who does a retrospective on old video game adaptations should go the extra step and check out what was going on with movies and audiences at the time. Kinda like how you did in your Bioshock video when you mentioned it was the first game to have environmental storytelling with audio tapes. I think so many more of those "souless cash grabs" would probably make a lot more sense. That being said, so many of them really were just uninspired trash.
Well, considering the fact that superhero films are not doing very well as before and the popularity of films based of games that cater to a wider audience demographic, CHILDREN, video game based movies are gonna be the next biggest trend and I don’t mind.
In defense of the RE movies, they’re not supposed to be 1 to 1 with the games. Capcom gave them free reign to make it different from the games because they didn’t want it to replace actually playing the games.
shitting on the doom movie without mentioning Doom 3, the game it’s literally based off of, is CRAZY. you talked bout doom like you know the series so well😂
it was meant to be a narrative journey showing growth of the industry as well as a shift in perspective. I change my mind at the end bc that story with the kid is meant to represent an understanding that just because you dont like something doesnt mean its not worth making. or some shit.
Bizly I would like to disrespectfuly disagree because the assassins creed movie is in my top 10 and yes, I agree it was a little slow but the story and cinematics were 😙🤌
Converting a video game into any other form of media is bound to fail, especially with movies, and it's because video games are the best medium that media can come in, and movies are one of the worst. Simply being interactive makes you much more likely to actually give a shit about the people in the game. You're more likely to pay attention, remember the characters names. You're the one experiencing what's happening so you get a perspective outside of simply being a viewer. Interactivity is what makes you feel connected, and fun is what keeps you sticking around to see everything a games has to offer. Books, movies, tv-shows, etc has distinct pros and cons to each. Books force engagement since reading is required and their lack of visuals allow for descriptions to engage in your own imagination. Tv-series allow of longer interactions with characters than in movies so you can understand and watch character development change in a more realistic and less rushed fashion. Engagement comes from long interconnected stories. Movies for the most part have very little to no viewer engagement, with only a few pushing the viewer to try figuring out what's happening. Movies for the most part show the viewer basically everything, and leave little to no misunderstandings about what is shown. Although clearly not all movies fit this description, the vast majority of their stories and concepts are often limited by the medium, and then because the lack of the concept being fully realized leads to branching IPs that take place in other mediums, like games or TV-shows or books. The issue about games convert to movies specifically is they fundamentally lose a massive part of the experience, of what made it feel so real and important to so many people. It's shortens it to nothing and removes all the world building flavors that made you fall in love with the series to begin with, to save time. I think it's possible to do really video game adaptions, but I think it requires to add onto the series as a whole, telling a separate story never told, because then it takes everything you loved and expands onto it, instead of retelling something you already experienced 200 hours in, but removing 198 hours to fit it into a time slot.
To be fair for the X-men movies, there were a few good ones like Logan and days of future past. I feel like, with a couple exceptions the x-men movies were either great or terrible.
i actually enjoyed uncharted the movie but i saw it with a terrible tinder date who asked me strange questions about my gender identity so it is tainted by my memories
@@bizlychannelYT yeah i do feel like that's a growing problem in hollywood, especially with animated movies not hiring real voice actors. it's like the movie version of clickbait
this is the kinda content i want giving valid opinions letting people know whats good and bad with types of games and movies and calling doom out for not having demons... what is doom even supposed to e without demons? but then gives good game movies like sonic a good reason to like it and congradulating it for listening to the fans and building all that up to mario WICH WAS AMAZING!!! to be honest id rather watch this than mr beast destroying trains by throwing them in holes i truly like this video and all it stand for! infinity/-infinity also known as the best rating known to man
but also one more thing... WHY DID THEY DO THAT TO DOOM WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS... even worse ater they flop a movie its super rare to have them try again and how long did it take for mario to try again while mario is still one of the best video game characters of all time.. all i ask is 3 things... 1 a good violent doom movie like john wick with good action scenes and story 2 to fix assassins creed and make its movie worth it what we all want to see and 3... minecraft is a game ive played my whole life ive loved its creativity and adventure and how you make your story and your home while also following the path to murdering a fricking dragon in a space dimensions... minecraft could translate well to a movie with the original nostolgiac minecraft story and steve and alex killing the dragon and saving the end dimension AND it could explain lore game theory has been talking about for years! a minecraft movie is what i want to see!
100% agree with the Last of Us take. I thought the show was tastefully done, and stayed true to what made the game what it was in the first place. Even when they took liberties and deviated from the plot of the game, it was done in a tasteful way that didn’t feel like it was betraying the source material. I feel that if companies continue to want to turn games into live action adaptations, tv shows or limited series are the way to go, definitely not movies. There’s just way too much story in a video game to get crammed into a 2 hour chunk of time.
I'm sure the Doom movie sucks major chode but I'm kind of over the "Doom is non-stop action" bullshit because it isn't. You have a room with enemies, you clear them out, then you proceed to the next room and clear them out, then you realise you need a blue key so you go searching through the enemyless rooms until you find it, then you need a red key so you backtrack some more. Doom is only non-stop action if you've memorised all the locations... Rant over.
