If I didn’t already own REP’s SSB I would absolutely go for this one. They look almost identical. Super good buy for that price. Thanks for the great review.
Your videos are informative and fun to watch. AND, you have the ability to find and review products that have value WAY above their price point! Thanks!
The only thing I don't like about this is it doesn't list the load rating on the product page. I do like that they list the bar weight on the end cap and that they made the sleeves scratch resistant. Great review once again!
No brainer price. Yes4all also sells a bar on Amazon cheaper than Titan. Only issue is storage- not something you want to bring in and out of a rack. Highly recommend barbell anchor storage on top of rack.
Yeah, threading the needle is really a lot more work than one would think in the home gym space. But the secret finds are out there. What you up to this weekend?
Great video! I'm super hesitant to get an SSB for the reason you mentioned - it does one thing. I did lightly try a couple SSBs at HGC but I wasn't blown away with them, maybe I need to try again sometime. Another typical issue I found is most of these are quite long and that becomes problematic for me, a basement dweller who likes to store my barbells vertically, this one being too long for my space also. But maybe I'll reconsider at the next HGC which I'll get to meet you at!
Looks a lot like my Giant lifting SSB. The black knurled handles, pad, and the bushing in the sleeves. It stacks up well against Rep but Rep has a better Pad
If you ever find the extra change in between the couch cushions, I would love your take on the Marrs Bar. Currently saving up for one and you already know I’m chhhheeeecking in for validation. Good stuff man 💪🏻
A few things to clear up... 1) Your Promo Code does not work. 2) The price you stated does not include shipping. 3) Rep Fitness has free shipping. 4) The total price for the Safety Squat Bar 2000 w/ Shipping: $316.67. 5) The total price for the Rep Fitness Safety Squat Bar w/ Free Shipping: $354.90. 6) The $38.23 extra is most likely worth it for the better padding, better knurled handles, and the known static rating of 1,500lbs. I really enjoy your videos and often make decisions based on your reviews, but I needed to clear this up because the money saved isn't worth the purchase over the Rep Fitness SSB. Again, love your channel...but this review didn't hit the mark. Keep up the great work and Cheers from AZ🌵! P.S. I'm still trying to decide on which SSB to get...🤣
Great post and thanks for watching. I will say when I bought it they had free shipping. I just checked now and they want to charge a fortune to ship a $200 bar. So def. don't buy it. I'd wait until Nov 1st, lots of companies are going to start dropping deals early this year.
I use my safety squat bar for my volume Squats (heavy squats are still regular Barbell), Standing Calf Raises (on deadlift days when my grip is killed), lunges on very rare occasion (grip has to be dead once again - replaced barbell lunges with SSB lunges), Good Mornings (wife refuses to do SSB good morning, but that is the only way I'll do them now), and lastly I use the SSB during Hip Thrusts. I've already broken the edge of my Rep FB-3000 flat bench doing hip thrusts leaning on the bench (it wasn't even that much weight - reps at 375 and I only weigh 205). I replaced the bench pad and learned from a different youtuber to use the SSB pad to lean against for doing my hip thrusts.
@@NoFate247I have the REP SSB. While some people say their most used specialty bar is the open trap bar (I have one from Giant), I find I use the SSB about 3x more often.
@@NoFate247 Double Black Diamond from Rep and a cheapo 35lb "ladies" bar for my wife. 5 bars total (rep sabre is a my basic bar that I use for deadlifting and rows, double black diamond has taken over for squats, bench, overhead press). We will be trading out my wife's cheapo for a much nicer 35lb bar either from Rogue, Rep, Titan or Fringe - who ever has the best price to feature to quality mix (American Barbell is out because I don't have that kind of money to spend on a barbell) - we'll be looking for reviews on the Bella bar 2.0, the Colorado 15kg, Black Canyon 15kg and whatever the Fringe and Titan analogues are.
I love your idea of finding the best budget-friendly options while still being able to achieve our fitness goals in our daily routines. I think you'll love our Muscle & Joint Pain Relief Cream products and would be a great fit for a partnership. Let's discuss further and send you some products to try out.
I like the price and finishes. I kinda cringe with my barbells not having endcaps and being mystery chinese bars. I got a newborn coming in January. Do you got any advice for training with a newborn in the house?
Congrats on the upcoming little one! Best piece of advice I wish I knew going into it........Don't train after the kid goes to sleep. Train early in the AM. Front load it in your day so when the S hits the fan, you have a chance to push out your training before it's canceled all together. Plus you'll have more energy in the AM than PM (With how little sleep you'll be getting).
That is an awesome deal👍it looks like a clone of the REP fitness SSB. I love my SSB its saved my sanity I just had carpul tunnel surgery 😢 and haven't been able to do anything except squat hands free with the SSB. Full disclosure Ive never done a JM press😂
@@NoFate247 it's all depends, there's two types of surgery endoscopic or open palm. I opted for the endoscopic smaller incision quicker recovery, so hopefully I'll be back to normal lifting in couple of months.
Haven’t seen a review on Kensui Tokyo trap bar that appears to offer a lot of versatility and utility including a version of SSB (without pad). Wondering how balanced it is and if any of the moves advertised feel awkward. Any feedback appreciated.
