its so weird, everytime i think actively about not touching my face, everything (well not literally of course) starts itching in my face. How do i make it stop....

One of the better strategies for you might be to keep your hands consistently busy instead of thinking of your face. These are the tips I share at 6:39.

Lately I have been touching my face so much, that my skin is getting so bad. And i finally found this video, it was very helpful. Sounds easy but it's actually tough to not touch your face when you have a habit. I'm trying to follow all the tips, hopefully i get rid of the bad habit and my skin gets better

This was fantastic and very timely with all the concerns with Coronavirus. It's something I've struggled with, but found that the easiest way for me to curb the habit was to do shift habits by doing something with my hands (as I'm sat at a desk most of the day, I'd usually pick up a pen and fidget with it for a few seconds which shifts my focus).

This was really good as I am trans and gotten into the habit of touching my face to feel facial hair. Now with this virus and flu season I've been trying to get out of the habit but so difficult

I have asthma, so these days i'm really scared about getting the coronavirus. Sometimes i have shortness of breath and I panic because i think I could be sick already. And i don't know if it is just my asthma or if it is because of the anxiety (kind of psychosomatic), because when i'm distracted I usually feel better. How could i deal with this? I'm really worried, i couldn't sleep at all last night...

Just assume your breathing issues are due to your asthma unless you develop other symptoms (fever, mental confusion, high fatigue) that might indicate you have caught something (which would not necessarily be the coronavirus either ... it could just be a cold or the flu). If you're young, also remember you have a much higher survival rate than older people, so you could catch it and survive. Please take sensible precautions, but don't stress about it until you know you have it. Then fuel that stress into getting proper treatment. I wish you good health.

I’m going through the same thing. I keep monitoring how I feel and start thinking I might be sick. I have to distract myself somehow otherwise I really get paranoid.

🔥 After washing drying your hands put 1 or 2 drops of habanero sauce on 3 or 4 finger tips rub in by touching left and right fingertips together .

Good video, Dr. Mattu! It's all good advice for changing habits effectively. :) I guess you could say I took the easy way out. My younger brother has always been germ conscious and has a habit of wiping his face with his shirt shoulder or upper sleeve. Now that everyone keeps saying Don't touch your face! I find myself mimicking him. It satisfies the need to touch without increasing the risk of infection. Brainy baby brothers are a blessing! :)

I’m a big fan of taking the easy way out when it comes to behavior change! The best way I’ve cleaned to reduce my snacking at home is to just not bring snacks into my home.

Just by reading the title I already want to touch my face. What can I do if my face is itchy ? Or when I wake up and need to "brush" my eyes with my finger to clean them ?

It's okay to touch your face if your hands are clean or if you use a clean tissue to touch your face. Alternatively you could consider lotions, creams, or ointments that might reduce the itchiness on your face.

I used to bite my nails too, i've never knew that you could die from it. My brain just like "yup, we are not biting our nails" It takes a lot of time though, I bite my nails like everyday for 2 years.
