Hopefully one day the govt will wake up and see grants and programs to kickstart Autistics to work and run own businesses , instead of programs that put people in jobs that end up inflexible and intolerant of our needs once the wage subsidies end

I had some bad news this week that is going to change my life quite a bit. So far I’ve only shared this news with three people and for now it will probably stay like that. I know this change will bring some judgment from people and I just don’t have the energy to listen to it. The problem with bad things happening in your life is now you need to spend energy on processing and that energy can’t be used for other stuff I have planned for this year. This means things I want to do will have to be postponed even more. Which isn’t great but accepting that is part of life I suppose. Nothing much else happened this week because I didn’t have the room in my brain for it. Have a good week Claire and Friends.

The biggest challenge for me i think would be the money side of things. You have a minimun requirement where you need to be so that you can pay stuff. A basic garanteed income where you know that things wont go really bad if things arent quite working one month. Or a decent amount saved somewhere in case of "emergency". There are always ideas. But when you cant even do one month without that basic income then its hard to take that step. Most days i rather freelance or do my own business rather than being employed. That is the challenge. To know that you have reached a point where you are safe enough to make the step towards that work life. To know you might have months, especially in the beginning, where the inflow of cash is not quite enough. But you can handle it. There is a source to fill the gap. I cant just throw myself into starting a new business. I need some form of safety. I think thats where some people fail. Not that their idea wasn't good enough. They were not prepared for those times. Good luck with everything :)

I had my first autism assessment appointment last saturday. The psychologist was really nice. I didn't sleep well the night before. Kept running through how I thought things would go in my head.

I was so so excited by your memberships and joined straightaway despite still being in burnout. I just felt like I couldn't talk to anyone this week even with my friends in YT live chats or my fb group chats. Looking forward to your stream with Meg, she is great. So, my big news is that I have an appointment with my GP this Wed to ask for a referral for an autism assessment! I think having another burnout actually made me feel it was time to get it official. I sip tea during Porch Coffee time. I would get a mug or a sticker, but shipping is expensive. Maybe one day. (after I deal with getting my roof fixed once spring fully gets here). The time change was hard yesterday. I was sooo tired all day and didn't do much. (Though, that might have partly been due to my niece's birthday party on Saturday and driving home in the heavy rain.) I was busy finishing up stuff for my niece last week. Thursday night I was in tears because my mom said we might be going on Friday instead of Saturday due to weather and staying over and it was a sudden change of plans and I had planned out my week to finish things off on Friday, since I don't work Fridays. [I tend to drive to my parents' place and go with them to see my sister, since I pass their place along the way, might as well carpool... then I only have to drive 30 minutes instead of 1h30]. It was only supposed to start raining Saturday afternoon, heavy rain in the evening, and turning to snow overnight [was calling for 10--15 cm], so I didn't get why she wanted to go a day earlier... and my brother-in-law was at work on Friday. Anyway, it ended up to be "we'll see" for the plans... with likely going early Saturday morning and maybe staying overnight... but I had online plans Saturday night because it was an online friend's birthday party and she specifically told me I had to be there when I said I wasn't sure I could be. 😅 I was also worried about having to drive home in heavy snow in the morning. Lots of anxiety, fear of letting people down, and "we'll see" plans... Ended up heading home in heavy rain Saturday night and got home in time for the online party. Sunday I just wanted to sleep... was just too tired for anything. I will miss the drop if it's March 20th. I have a magical girl rpg every second Wednesday night so I'll be in a streamed game all night [6:30-10 ish eastern] and can't even lurk in chat. 😅 Sorry. I hope the hat drop goes well. I'll have to watch the replay the next day. Sorry for writing a novella yet again. 😅

So glad for you on these positive steps. Making a way for yourself is hard but I see you doing it and very proud of you. Making money...sigh. Still trying. Finding the art thing is kind of like the writing thing. Love creating, hate selling. Not to mention my art is the weird kind that makes you think but not what most think is the perfect accent on the living room wall. lol. Unfortunately, this line of thought led to my old defense mechanism this week. I scrapped my current effort on a big venue and took my art "babies" back offline while I regroup. Thinking maybe my own site might be better. Not sure. Anyway...this is Spring Break here for my kiddos, so off to do kid things. Best wishes on your week. ❤

We don't do DST (British summer time) until the end of the month - go figure. Films - I believe that's called dumbing down. my wk was boring. Been on antibiotics again to try get rid of this cough. Had nasal spray as well this time. Cough much reduced but still not 100% gone. It's holding up the surgery which is now getting annoying. Feeling somewhat better in myself. Still tinkering with Dalek Dave getting his voice modulator working. Car boot season is now underway so been able to go to a couple of those last few weekends. Learned that the bowel tumour is actually attached to the back of my bladder, the gift that just keeps giving. I'll have to deal with that when the time comes.

I hear you about Daylight Savings Time. Takes me awhile to adjust to the changes. I like that it is lighter later now though. 😊 For me this week, I got some appointments scheduled with my husband's help. And I accepted the help. In the past I would be harder on myself for not being able to do certain things like that(pre diagnosis). Now I'm understanding my own struggles.

Having a really crappy start to the week. I had a meltdown this morning after having to meet up with my btch of a sister to sort financial stuff for my mum who is in a care home because of Alzheimer's. Mum's been there over 2 years and my sister who only lives 4 miles away from the home still has not visited her EVER!!! Today, I tried to tackle her again about this but she point blank refuses to visit her and leaves all that emotional baggage for me to have to deal with. 😠hence the meltdown... I am also very sad to say that I still can't find your membership button so if there's anyway you can post a link in the video description that would be great.

I’ve been curious is PDA is worse during burnout or during times of higher stress. If you could ask Meg, that’d be interesting.

Well it is not Monday morning, it is night. And I don't have coffee, I have tea. The time change really does a number on me. It usually takes me around 2 weeks to get my sleeping patterns readjusted.

Neither me nor my husband remembered daylight savings until Sunday evening when I was on the phone with my mom and she mentioned it. On a different note, I see the join button on my computer but not on my mobile app (iPhone user)

I am having tea today. Just trying to stay in the sitting-up position.

I watched the original Dune with my boyfriend. It was pretty good. Neither of us had seen it before!

I really like listening to podcasts on SoundCloud, don't know how difficult it is to upload a podcast to that.

I haven’t gotten underestimated because of autism yet. But I’ve gotten underestimated because of being totally blind. I’ve even been overestimated because of being blind, just because I’m doing something right in front of a person’s face, they’re automatically like, “she’s not blind.” Like, excuse me?! I haven’t gotten underestimated or overestimated because of having complex PTSD yet, but I’m sure it will happen. At the end of the day, I know myself better than some dumb stupid useless hater or their useless comments.

Question for Meg: I have wondered about having all that footage from childhood… does she suspect that the videographer is neurodivergent or neurotypical? I ask that because my dad was a photographer, but his executive dysfunction got in the way of getting substantial footage.

I’m not very computer savvy so I probably won’t be able to become a member but I may just send you gift cards here and there.

I felt the same way about Dune. It’s enjoyable overall, lots of good things (visuals, acting etc.) but the pacing was SO choppy. They were shoehorning in scenes without any of the connective tissue that would make those relationships and conflicts make sense. The story couldn’t breathe. I understand it was because they couldn’t make the first book a trilogy movie set, but I was disappointed at how much they missed. Maybe it was better for those who hadn’t read it though 😅. I’m not sure how much made sense without already knowing it.
