Revenge Bombers in War Thunder have GONE TOO FAR so it's time to shut them all down in the P-59A Airacomet!
The P-59A in War Thunder is the lowest battle rating Jet Fighter currently in the game. It's an old event plane that isn't just super fast, it can also turn on a dime.
The P-59A flight model is absolutely hilarious, so long as you're not on the receiving end of one, that is. If it's a 1v1 there's really not much a prop can do which is why I chose to take it out today! :)

thats because gaijin completely made up its flight model. pilots hated the plane because it was extremely heavy on the stick and slow to respond. and then you have the engines that were so weak piston powered aircraft had a higher top speed. so gaijin said all that was a lie and just made up numbers. and then you got the ammo. where the 50cals are only meant to have 100 rounds EACH. but instead each get the maximum count the plane could carry.

This plane was actually obtainable by a star event, I bought it for GE because of sentimental reasons, I'm surprised it's as rare as people say it is since most of the time star event vehicles are pretty common ( or have a ton lying around) It's fun to fly and I love that this plane came out a few months after I got to see a real one in Washington D.C lol

Genuinely gold moment when you are trying to boop the other plane for most of the match, and then proceed to be in a not so desired situation of low ammo and oil leak and still manage to one shot the next plane hahahahaha, great job yet again on another awesome vid!

I absolutley adore the P-59, whenever I play 5.3+ America, I take it as my main aircraft to Anti-CAS the enemy team. The only times I ever die in it are when the enemies either gang up on me or when a competent SPAA manages to take me out. It's such a great aircraft, and the only reason it is 5.3 is because the engines just aren't powerful. If you ever need an Anti-CAS plane, the P-59A Aerocomet is your answer.

I'm not cool enough for this particular plane but I do love doing air cover in ground battles. Just staying way out of reach for spaa and pounce enemy ground pounders, great fun!

A couple of big tips here for SPAA players to do better against aircraft, that i rarely see SPAA players do. 1. Always seek cover before revealing yourself to enemy aircraft, try to break line of sight with most of the sky so you can engage one aircraft at a time without one diving on you while you're shooting another. 2. Never open fire unless you are sure you can hit the aircraft, preferably to kill it but at least inflict a crit.

This is the first jet that I saw low br and got me spooked when I heard its jet engines! Got me playing warthunder for a bit longer and unlocked the Me-262 U4, unlocking a first jet was amazing (got 3 kills first game at ground RB)

Turns better, but thrust is low and constant. With a prop, thrust becomes higher the slower you go.

Had a weird encounter with this plane in my A6M5 Ko, ended up crashing into each other after many yo-yos. Haven't seen one since, but was a hell of a fight!.

Had a brilliant example of this happen a while back; I shot and killed a leopard 1 whilst in a T34 (Yankee boy), he then did the classic thing of jumping in a 234 and instantly revenge bombed me, I then jumped in an F80 and shot him down and he then jumped back in a 262 and tried to shoot me down before crashing into a mountain. My laughter was soon cut short when an ostwind 2 killed me (he was the ostwind).

Playing anti-CAS is one of the most satisfying things to do. With each kill, you just removed anywhere from 500 to over 1000 spawn points from the enemy team, as well as saving one or more teammates from certain death. Intercepting Pe-8s before they drop is even better.

You had some great one where you caught a bomb, or another plane landed on you or something, I forget what it was specifically, I just remember it was super unique. Would love to see it again.

I honestly think they should make it so that planes get seperate BR's between air and ground so that fighters can be a lower BR. A spitfire mk24 doesn't have much ground pounding ability but can clear the skies for you, yet it's 7.0 making it's usefulness.... questionable especially in ground. I'd happily have a P-51H with no bombs be available at 6.0 over a P-51H with bombs at 6.3, just so that I can smack enemy planes out of the sky and just ignore the ground completely.

I definitely keep an eye out immediately on spawning in the air for guys like this who try to hug the deck and then zoom up near the spawn (perfectly valid tactic). Vertical spiral is how you beat this plane but you better have the energy to do it, get more horizontal if you start seeing the nose go from lag to pure. Sure the low speed handling is great but it's still an early jet so the acceleration is crap

its a great tactic for thinning out the yolo-CAS and preventing the enemy from booty-blasting your team. Whenever terribad pilots cry in chat about me "spawn-camping" them by stalling myself out beneath them I can't stop laughing. If you die to this strategy you have nobody to blame but yourself.

@@XSpamDragonX It's very hard to defend against because it's difficult to spot them on the deck and you won't hear them until it's too late so your reaction time better be instantaneous. I've been caught of guard because I was sure there weren't any planes, but typically I make sure it backfires on them by taking advantage of my starting energy state and simply doing a tight yoyo if they think they can run or spiral climb and gank them after the energy trap. I think the spawn zoom is a cheesy strategy that exploits the air spawn mechanics but like I said it's perfectly valid

First time I fought the P59 in Air RB I figured I wouldn't be coming out alive of that engagement, so I did the honorable thing and rammed him with my KI 84. We won the game. The P59 dude was quite pissed: he was the last one alive and had 7 kills.

I think honestly an easy fix is to triple the spawn point cost for CAS, that way people need to actually do more than one thing in a tank before getting a plane.
