I dont know about a series, the one disney made arent all bad, but the quality is still not there. I would much more prefer a movie or even two, those tend to look more cinematic and i want to be fucking awed when i'll see her "summoning" the storm on big screen

I never new about x men and mcu until my brother watched them when I was 9 and I watched all of the x men movies I didnt think Storm the masterpiece was weak at all I'm 16 now and I still love Halle and Storm so What makes Storm weak? I Say nothing. It just racist people dont want poc to shine for ex bonnie that was played from cat graham I first saw one episode of tvd when I was about 9 or 8 but I saw it on Netflix and decided to watch it and I was and still am so upset how they treated bonnie as if bonnie didnt save most of those ppls lives bonnie is the hero and the victim and How they treated kat wasn't surprising sadly because me as a black girl I have been treated or hated on buy ppl for no reason because they are racist and jealous which is pathetic as well.

Sis this isn't DCU, everyone in marvel that will have a live action must have a character development and so does their power, you cannot just Introduce her so powerful otherwise just throw her to Gotham🤣

Great points. I feel that the writers and the director for Dark Phoenix and The Last Stand pulled back in some ways and it made the movies seem unfinished.

Thats the same in comics, at one point,, she is like that. Defeating calipso and all. But the movie shows her as weak and not interesting.

Storm is my favorite character. She is not only an Omega level mutant, she is an expert hand to hand combatant, and she comes from a long line of African priestesses with magical abilities. She has worked with MagiK the mutant to kinda show her how to use her magic, she can use her powers in/on any planet and space. She is immune to most psychic attacks and if she so chose she could drown you on the spot or devoid your lungs of oxygen! She is the shit!!

I beg to differ. I definitely want a solo storm movie, but not with Halle. Not putting down her acting ability, but considering Storm is African, I would want someone who actually LOOKS like Storm play her. Dark skin, muscles, accent, hair texture, and all.

Storm is a dark-skinned, strong woman but Halle isn’t the best representation of who Storm is.

Not at all! I LOVE Halle Berry as Storm. She was the Storm i was introduced to as a child. So she definitely holds a spot in my heart. People are too fixated on having a Dark skinned Storm than the actual character being portrayed right.

It has a place in our hearts cuz Halle Berry was the 1st to portray her. However, it's still not an accurate depiction of storm. I think halle did storm pretty well but storm is a Dark skinned East African woman -- not a biracial brown or light skinned american (sounding) woman. They got all the white characters right for instance, but they chose someone more "palatable" to the main stream audience to play her. This is one of the sole reasons Alexandra Ship got so much hate playing the new rendition of storm. People figured we are in a new time let black characters be played by talented black actors/ actresses. Biracial people playing full black characters is problematic (its colorist and inaccurate). Halle gets no hate because when she was hired to play Storm it was a different time (plus she's Halle Berry).

That's why people are mad its a pretty good reason...erasure of a black female superhero. Ask yourself this would people just be happy if Captain America (Steve Rogers) was played my a half white- half asian actor? No they wouldn't even if he looked more white than Asian. Plus its not like there arent young talented dark skinned actresses out there to play her, some of the people in charge just refuse to stay true to how a Kenyan Woman with 2 Dark skinned Kenyan parents should look. So much so that most people think storm is supposed to be light skinned, racially ambiguous, and or mixed race.

But my main concern is with her being made out to be weak or timid like how they did her in the first two X-Men movies. It's funny and hypocritical how fans bashed Halle Berry for not being black enough to play Storm, but if White people were to have a fit about Nick Fury being portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson, y'all would raise hell. Make it make sense! No one said shit about Samuel Jackson playing Nick Fury and I'm okay with that. Just don't be selective hypocrites when it comes to wanting true representation for fictional characters. If we're going to be mad about Storm being played by a mixed light skinned actress, then lets be mad about Samuel L. Jackson playing a Caucasian character. Otherwise, let it go!
