On July 17, I began an attempted thru-hike (with a few detours) of the Colorado Trail. I’m heading southbound from Denver to Durango.
This is Episode 10 in the series in which I hike from Silverton to the end of the trail in Durango.
Total trip days in this video: Day 30 to Day 33.
The Colorado Trail Segments included in this video are Segment 25 (Molas Pass to Bolam Pass Road); Segment 26 (Bolam Pass Road to Hotel Draw Road); Segment 27 (Hotel Draw Road to Kennebec Trailhead); and Segment 28 (Kennebec Trailhead to Junction Creek Trailhead).

Thumbs, up to all of you . I am saddened now that it’s over. I really enjoyed this Colorado hiking the four of you did. The views were spectacular. I’m young 68 I used to road race, play racquetball, and I did physical home building, and my knees are shot. I can still mountain bike and road bike. That’s all that’s left of my body. I can walk 4 miles with my Siberian husky, but that’s about it ,what you were doing something I would’ve loved to done but I’m enjoying it through your videos. Taco was incredible to endure that terrain very sketchy areas. Nice added touch with Taco and Joel. Best jay

You made my day as I sit here with a back ache, slept wrong last night. You guys did an exceptional job of taking us along with you, now I am going back and watching your AT hike so I can see where you have been. My son turned me on to your channel a while back and it has been a great time watching you and I hope I handle getting back out there as well as you have. I am 67 and getting back out with a lot lighter gear than I had available 46 years ago when I started hiking. Stopped to raise 3 kids and now they take care of me on the trails, the bug for hiking was genetic it seems. glad to see you flying with your son. congrats on the piloting life.

Thanks for Taking us along. Your views and insights are unreal. The views of that trail was so fascinating and unreal. Hope to do some of it. Glad your Lunas made it. I go to Ennis Montana about ever year. That Earthquake at quake lake was unreal. Read about it many times. I could be wrong, but I'm thinking. Liz may have called you up and talked you into hiking this trail with her. You may have been a little at first. But you all done it. So great to see you and Liz back on the trail! I did the last 188 of the AT again this past July to Summit Katahdin with a trail brother that I hiked a long way with in 2018. It was physically exhausting and once again, helped me realize how tough any Thru Hike is, especially the AT in Maine! Congratulations on pushing through and overcoming the adversity to successfully complete the CT!!

Thanks for another great series. Your thru hiking days aren’t over. You’ll learn and reboot, like Jardine. I would’ve quit with those blisters and come back when healed. Must’ve been painful from that alone. And plenty of other trails out there with different challenges. Still waiting for you to do the pct and give us all a video series on it. Evan! Congrats on finishing a hard hike! You know - I often find myself only remembering all the positive things about the CT (the views!!!!). But it truly is hard and challenging. In fact I had so many “ailments” on the CT I started to count them in my journal - and truly had a rough time (including spraining my ankle, falling on my knee, stubbing my toe in my crocs so badly that I lost the nail much later….). But we got lucky with the monsoon season ending shortly after we started. You just never know. Your temps looked positively chilling as well - that’s hard stuff on a thru! Thx for your honesty! But I bet this won’t be your last……. Take care! - Chica

Thank you Evan for your videos. I really enjoyed them (also LIz's videos). I started the trail 2 weeks prior to you all and had to exit early due to a very unexpected injury so your video's helped me complete my hike without actually being there. I relate to your experience being your age....haha. I also was on the AT the year you hiked but was behind you so never met you but as you and Liz mentioned, the people you meet and experiences you have along the way are just as meaningful and rewarding as the actual hike itself.
