46:01 Setting sensible Water string defaults in Project Settings, from an appropriate drainage.4d file
This series of training webinars - Stormwater Drainage Design Fundamentals - covers the basic and intermediate aspects of the Three Waters modules in 12d Model 14, with special emphasis on the design of stormwater drainage. It is presented as a condensed overview of the material normally covered in the first two days of the formal Three Waters training courses (W01 to W06) offered regularly by 12d Solutions. This material is assumed knowledge for many of the more advanced training courses available in the Three Waters suite.
A construction-ready drainage model - including catchments, pits, pipes, culverts, channels and flood extents - is created from scratch in 3D and designed for specified minor and major storm events using the Rational Method. Output plans, long-sections and calculation tables are also produced.
This webinar is Episode 1 of the series: Project Preparation. It details some of the preliminary steps required, before the drainage design can begin in earnest. Not all of these steps are mandatory, but they can certainly help to make the job easier.
Difficulty Level: Basic-Intermediate

Glad you enjoyed it, Emily! Episode 2 is being worked on at the moment, and we expect to be able to present it early in 2020 (we've got some other exciting topics in the list in the meantime!) :-)

Hi Emily - in case you haven't seen this, we've added a playlist with the 5 episodes so far (and the 6th will be added to it after it's finished in mid-July)! ru-vid.com/group/PLvBKANuJGV6546JO4vb2fBbih_cQ9A3bg

With all due respect, I know we are meant to have an understanding of chains but if you're going to use them in a beginner/intermediate course at least demonstrate how they are being constructed and not just gloss over the fact you're using them.

To be fair, the "beginner/intermediate" tag pertains to the water side of 12d Model, not 12d Model in general. The material presented in this series (and the formal training course it is based on) is not intended to be one's first exposure to 12d Model. There are other videos on this channel that cover the creation of chains, and lots of other basic 12d Model operations. But there's also nothing like a good example, which is why the project shown in this series is made available (to those with a license on maintenance, via the 12d Model forum) with a collection of useful chains, that could potentially be incorporated into one's own projects. The use of chains is the single best way to improve one's productivity with 12d Model, so I consider it quite sensible to incorporate their use into my training courses, even if the focus of the training isn't on the creation of chains.

picking data from your chain is killing the purpose of your webinar
