Civil 3D is a great plan production software, but it also has something to offer for Stormwater designers, regardless of what analysis tools are used. By understanding the TIN Surfaces used to define our existing/proposed conditions, we can allow the software to identify the variables and values needed to start our analysis.
• Utilize Civil 3D Surfaces to delineate depressions across a site
• Create Civil 3D Catchments to represent depressional areas
• Define and edit a Flow Path as part of your Catchment to calculate its Time of Concentration

@ATG USA there was a Whitepaper mentioned in the video and I was wondering if it was still available? Also do you have another video that can help me troubleshoot my Catchment label not giving Time of Concentration properly? It is currently displaying ??? in my style. Thanks.

Hey There Josh, here is a link to the white paper mentioned. atgusa.com/civil-3d-guide-stormwater-design-analysis-setup/ As for a follow up video to troubleshoot, we will send it over to our tech team to consider and work into their content creation mix for you. You can also reach out to ATG's support team at support@atgusa.com any time and they can help you towards resolving that issue together. :)

Hi ATG! Out of curiosity what is the best sectors within civil engineering etc to make the most money / good progression?

The sector you are most passionate about. Doing work you are not passionate about is a miserable life.

@@OAOAdam I think you’ve got to be able to get a bit of enjoyment out of it but personally think that is a bit of a cliche really to be honest. I do get where you’re coming from though

In my opinion, if you want to be involved in the design then a civil & structural engineering consultancy is they way forward and the end goal is to reach associate or director, if we are talking broadly for the construction sector then developer or project manager.

I was wondering why didn't you used draw drain target point to locate the low point rather than using this hit and trial method.
