I know we haven’t had love rivals in a while, but I’d like to see SOMETHING like that in the game. Especially because the game is about living your best life and as you age things around you change. So seeing the other residents getting married and having kids would be cool
I completely agree, I miss seeing characters’ relationships grow. But I think the reason they didn’t have it in FoMT (and Olive town? Idk didn’t play it) is because same-sex marriage for the player character is now allowed, and it would be kind of disingenuous to allow that while having a bunch of straight relationships between the other characters. The obvious solution would be to have some characters end up in same-sex relationships, but I doubt they want to risk the backlash. 😔
It would still be nice, though. I was always rooting for Nami and Gustafa as well as Muffy and Griffin. Seeing them together would make my childhood fantasies come true.
Bro Skye and Witch Princess. Even if they are DLC. I think they would fit in the valley really well as night lurkers. It be nice to add a couple “magical” characters to the world too. They kept the shed at Romanas mansion so WP could totally live there! To be clear I’m not expecting them to be included but I think this might be our only chance to see them again since I doubt they will make a DS remake in the same town. 😢
I loved the realism of having the cows stop giving milk until giving birth as well I hope that they keep that mechanic because it was unique. Also I hope that there are a bunch of new buildings and machines for the farm like the cheese maker and stuff like that
In an interview the director said we can have baby sheep and goats. New events will include Takakura as a sort of uncle figure to our child. Festivals will change through the chapters with our family to showcase the passage of time, so spouse and child will be attending various festivals with us.
I really want, and personally think the game needs more stuff to buy. I remember in the original very early on realizing there wasn't much point in growing a bunch of crops or keeping a bunch of animals, beyond just having something to do
More activities and characters interactions are definitely at the top of my list because as you said you can never have too much dialogue, especially in farming sims where the characters are one of their biggest components!

What I would love to see is some form of online features, such as going online or local wireless modes to help a friend with their farm and even be able to trade items. That would make this game easier, sure, but it would be more fun! Imagine, you and your best friend sitting beside each other and seeing the little nuances in each other's farm and helping the other out.
For all those who don't know, weird & strange tools(including the wooden watering can) didn't work as intended in AWL. They were fixed in SE so they actually did their specials. It was water, grass harvest, & till in bigger ranges. There's a catch though.. You needed the Great Field. It was locked till u got Tartan in year 2 or later. & It costed 20k gold. Only after u got it would u be able trigger the gift events for those tools
I came back to replay Another Wonderful Life since it’s a little less slow-paced- and I’m much better at freshening the cattle now. I’ve figured out the spacing.
I have never play before awl as I don't have the console, but I always wanted to try this game as I found the concept really interesting. So I'm really excited for this game. I would love for the residents to bring up your father. That was something I always questioned about the game as well I always wondered why he was only brought up by takakura so I would love to see that changed
I thought Takakura said in the very beginning that our father always wanted to run the farm (his dream) but never got to. Hence it going to you. I just took that to mean he never got to have a life in the valley for people to really know him, besides Takakura of course, but I'd love more history on them both. I remember the picture on Takakura's nightstand and wondering about more of his backstory.
The amount of NEED I HAVE FOR THIS! A Wonderful life was my first Harvest Moon and NOTHING can compare, not a single other harvest moon or story of seasons has ever been good to me compared to this chill laid back game. Also ummm any chance of a video of the new harvest moon coming out in September :P sure you could get at least 2 vids outa that lol
Honestly, I want to see Trio of Towns get a full remake because I love the game and it's one of the best in the series but it's really limited by 3DS and honestly just kinda looks really ugly. Some of the character designs are a bit wonky too and there's lots of aspects that could use cleaning up.
What I really hope is that there are more places to visit, such as the region that gives access to the city, and if possible I would like to take the boat to fish in the sea and catch different fish.
I hope the cow breeding/milk stays the same as well. I don't really want much changed besides making the goat viable. Just additions, really. Although I did like in SE being able to buy good tools and get them through friendship. I'm not really sure I like the thought of a mandatory grind when I used to be able to prioritize this or that with money.
I was recently playing friends of mineral town and when I was talking to the doctor he said that had heard of a doctor in a place called forgotten valley and I was like shocked was that their way of giving a hint towards it you think?
Wow Im early! :D Yay I can't wait for the remake. My mom and I spent countless of hours on this game and we bonded through it. I remembered we created our own rough guide through trial and error on a bunch of papers we stuck with the game pamphlet in the gamecube case! I wish I still had my guide ^_^
I had a bunch of papers in the case for this game when I was younger too! I did a ton of research on recipes and seasons for crops and wrote them all down
I feel like this is a weird thing to want but I hope they don't get rid of the death of the animals, time passes, the animals die and I feel so much more invested in them. Their existence was finite and carried more weight.
It seems we won't be able cut trees to get wood just like how the old game at all but will put most of the unused cutscenes like awaken Harvest Goddess which not exist in the old game. I'm quite curious with the our character aging as it's just weird that we get old and passed away while everyone look young, it would be interesting that we can actualy play as our son and go to new year with different events unlike old one had to cut many contents due to hardware limitation. Perhaps the creator of Harvest moon really want to make what type of Harvest moon game he really want to be for this remake.
What I found a bit off -putting was that in the trailer it looked like our character was the only one that was visibly aging (besides our kid) which I personally would find weird while playing. I also don't expect this feature to be optional which would make me like the game more probably.
I'm hoping for some elements of the DS games, such as the special marriage candidates (looking at you, Keira & Witch Princess) and the new characters they introduced, like the circus couple. I'm interested to see all the new cutscenes and festivals they're adding to the game. I wonder if there will be some extra stuff unlocked if you have a save file for Mineral Town, like the interconnected games of the originals.
In Another Wonderful Life you could sell the goat after she stopped giving milk so I’m sure we can sell the goat in this game too. Just not sure if the it will stop giving milk again.
Well what I really want for this remake version for a wonderful life is a good happy ending because I don’t want our character die in the last chapter & I have a really bad dream about it & it felt so real & why marvelous have to remake the old harvest moon game even marvelous went through a really hard time after a developer split from Natsume & I haven’t played harvest moon game before due of developer split in 2015 & after 6 months later i finally got a chance to play a Story of Seasons games but seeing the old marriage candidates & townspeople from old games in Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town it make me feel completely left out & I’m glad marvelous & xseed made Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town really special because it is a great starter for new players that haven’t played harvest moon game
I hope they make raising your child a lil easier, especially the career and personality influence, also a few more careers like maybe chef, Dr or buisness/office worker
You know.. I tell my Grandparents a lot of a Wonderful Life.. how I struggled to try and get baby chicks to never getting them, getting forced to marry only 1 of four only available girls in the village, and how my cow died and it was so traumatizing... I loved every Harvest Moon game.. but a Wonderful Life.. was not so wonderful for me.. Can't wait for my Ruined Childhood to be Reborn! Yaaaay! :3
I pulled out my GameCube a few years ago and immediately threw on another wonderful life and played for a bit. It’s my second fav hm/sos game. Now let’s hope next year the remake save the homeland ps2 for the switch! The only thing I would have liked seeing them leave things a bit more like the original. Looks a bit cartoony to me now.
I liked the greater focus on animal products in AWL, it makes me actually care about my animals. In games like FoMT and Stardew Valley crops always overshadowed the animals and thus I wasn’t attached to my animals. I also hope this game actually has animal mortality. I don’t like the recent trend of farming games removing consequences for not taking care of animals.
Honestly this might be an unpopular opinion, but I'm hoping for more than a 10 day calendar each season. I feel like if they are adding festivals and things 10 days is too short? If that makes sense.
This game doesn't even have Flora as a romanceable character so it's not worth buying! I mean, Flora was even added as a marriage candidate in a later game so there is no reason why they shouldn't add it to this game
Ironically my bf is given me his gamecube this sunday so i order in advance both a wonderful lifes early already have nostalgia waiting then when the male version arrived they announced this game me hyped but still keep gamecube ones

I've been playing through the SE on PS4 since this was announced and holy crap has the original not aged well. The camera is super wonky, the animations are so slow, fishing is so painfully boring, the running animation is so laughably bad, I could go on. Also in the SE, you basically have to constantly buy fertilizer to make your grass grow or you'll run out of fodder for your animals (which I don't remember being an issue in the original). I loved the game as a kid but this remake was desperately needed.
