Double check your manual before following advice from this video! I applied my glass gasket to one side of the glass as shown here and then saw my lopi manual and all other RU-vid tutorials say to sandwich the edge of the glass with the gasket.
Yes, there are variances between makes and models and how the gasket is applied. We always suggest reviewing your owners manual and paying close attention to the gasket you are removing and how it's applied.

Thanks for the message. Going around the corners is important and ensuring you have good seals at the corners are important. You definitely do not want to have the corners thicker to leave air gaps around the sides. Keeping your thumb on the corner while you wrap around to the side can allow the gasket to stay nice and flat at the corner edges. Oftentimes needs a bit of manipulation/finnessing. Depending on the thickness and width of the gasket, modifications may be needed to get a good seal all the way around. If you are cutting strips of gasket for each side, do your best to avoid end fraying and make sure the gasket points are butted up right against each other. I think your right a small amount of anti seize (copper slip) grease on the threads would probably do a good job of stopping those bolts seizing in the future
My Quadra fire AE pellet stove is burning through ignitor coils every couple months. I replaced the thermocouple and the mother board. Still found pinhole in the coil. I ordered a new gasket as the window gets dark brown and needs cleaned every day. Any help would be appreciated. I bought it used and don’t have a local repairman.
Just checked in with our tech team on this, here are some initial notes and questions. 1. How tight of a thermostat tolerance are you trying to hold? Give it a few degree window so it doesn’t cycle so much. 2. What fuel setting is he on? The dirtier the fuel setting the more auto clean cycles it goes through. 3. If burning pellets only, switch to the pellet only igniter at 300W vs. the 380W 4. When installing the igniter make sure it is not touching the igniter tube it mounts in…is the mount still welded properly to the burnpot? If the tube is loose put a new pot in it. I have an Eviro EF5, and I am confused on one thing. I have been told that the top of the glass on my door should be open with no gasket for air flow?? Doesn't make much sense to me. SO, when I replace the glass seal, should I go around the entire glass with a new seal, or just 3 sides and leave the top open?
Thanks for the message Shawn, happy to help. There are many pellet stove models that keep a small gap with no gasket at the top or bottom of the glass. They call this an 'air-wash' system. The idea is that a small amount of air is allowed to come through flowing over the glass during operation to keep the glass cleaner, longer. Over the years many manufacturers will have changes/updates including Enviro. My suggestion would be to closely inspect the previous glass gasket on your EF5 Evolution model and replace it in the exact same way. During your video you say that your glass gasket is 5”? Is that correct? Subtitles also say 5”? I’m having trouble finding a glass gasket for my Napoleon Huntsville 1900. I purchased a gasket that said it was 1” x 4’ (48”) but when I measured it the gasket was only 45.5” long? Are you supposed to have to stretch it to get it to be long enough? Just looking for advice. Thank you. If you do have to stretch it you will also need to grow a third hand! Lol

Looking up your Napoleon Huntsville 1900 stove it requires a 3/4" wide x 3/32" thick x 5' long gasket for the glass. We never want to stretch a gasket as that will change the thickness and seal. Generally it's referred to as a Glass Gasket. Others may call it a tape gasket. Most stoves will use a flat style gasket here, however some do use a round gasket for the glass as well. If you need any assistance for the replacement for your stove just let us know the make and model. Thanks!
I have an enviro empress pellet stove & the glass gasket needs replacing. It does not have any clips that hold the glass in & one corner of the glass is loose. My question is what holds my glass in? Can I replace the gasket like you did on the glass & use high temp RTV to hold the glass on the door? I haven't tried taking it apart yet, until I know how to keep the glass in after I change the gasket. Thanks

The Enviro Empress will use a 'Dual Bulb Tadpole Gasket' which creates the door and glass seal on your model. I couldn't find a good breakdown in the Empress manual to see how the glass is removed; hoping our techs can provide some insight that I can pass along. Thanks for the message. Looking at the owners manual for this model I only see the glass with gasket, part W010-0454. I'm not seeing a separate part number and size for door or glass gasket. Can’t understand why you wouldn’t make a thorough job of cleaning that glass while you have the opportunity- better adhesion of gasket if you had bothered? So easy to get a sparkling clean result with a little cold ash from your last fire and a little water and a rag or kitchen paper, doesn’t leave any residue back to ‘as new’ surface ready to restore the door to ‘new’ condition… 🙃

And excellent note on using cold ash and water with a rag to clean the glass; it generally works very well and does not leave residue behind like most cleaners do. The glass will stay cleaner longer when there is no residue/film left over from cleaning. Thanks again!
The video was good but I didn't like the gasket showing when looking at face of closed door maybe you could have moved the gasket out a little on sides of the glass

Translated: He made a mistake - There must be insulation between the iron clips and the glass, otherwise the glass will crack. Anwser: There are many variances based on the stove make and model. For the St. Croix door in this video, the metal clips that secure the glass go right to the glass. It's important they are evenly tightened and not over tightened. Definitely inspect your stove door and contact the manufacturer direct if there are concerns for proper replacement. Thanks.

Whether it's a glass gasket that is placed on one side or a glass gasket that channels/wraps around both sides, you can use your thumb in each corner as a pivot point to create proper seal on the corner application and to start the guide for the next side of glass gasket application.
