On this weeks Video
I take my XR8 Ute for a blast around Perth! The Straight Piped Exhaust has a microphone hooked up to it and boy does it sound good! Im hoping to show off the Ute a bit more and slowly do some work on it.. tho i will tell you i am poor haha so all in good time, and hope to at least do some track days or something also with the ute..
So for those that dont know its a 2005 BA XR8 Ute and is basically stock besides exhaust system and wheels.. i did a full review on my car a few months ago so if you want to watch it just click the link..

Mods to do. 1. Cold air intake. 2. 3 inch exhust (think you got that covered already) 3. Cam the engine. 4. Brake kit. 5. Strut bar kit. 6. Coil overs. 7. Good tyres. 8. Blu print balance the engine. (Expensive so maybe)

I had a ba xr8 x police car that i did a few mods too. 1.) 4.1 Gears 2.) Blue Power CAI 3.) Braided brake lines ( i haf the premium brake upgrade) 4.) Whiteline swaybars front & rear 5.) Difilipo big boy exhaust 6.) Cams & throw some dark argent rims on it. After all was done ended up with 369hp @ the back wheels through an auto. Traded it in on a cammed vy ss & totally regretted it. All the best with the ute mate.

Sweet sound. I love my 03 BA XR8 Ute I’ve had since new. 220,000k’s and only just did it’s first clutch. Only major problem I’ve had was diff centre bearings went so it gave me an excuse to do ratio change. Changed my gears from 3.23 to 3.73 plus a Truetrac locker diff centre and made it more responsive. Not a cheap mod but well worth it.

Great video bro. Sounds great. I've a BFII XR8, and love the noise it makes. Headers, hi flo cats, 2.5 inch X-force system with mid muffler delete. Not sure if its as loud as yours, though people seem to notice when I'm on it. 🤣🤣🤣 You've inspired me now. Its been a while since I've done a tunnel run, must be due. Just have to sell a kidney or lung first, as I'm in Sydney, and pretty much all tunnels are on toll roads!!! 😅

Straya. Manual V8s are the greatest. I used to spend $400 a month on fuel in my old 5 litre / 5 speed VK. Couldn't help but stomp it everywhere just to hear it and feel the torque. The rear will drop if you carry a load in the back, and probably gain some traction. So only lower it if you don't intend to cart anything heavy around in it. Squealing brakes is from the wear indicator on the pads. Time for a service : )

ya its about 500kms if im lucky a tank n cost around 100$ to fill up at the moment.. love the sound so it is hard to drive economically lol yes i do need new brakes next service, will be getting done very soon

Sounds like a charger my mate bought in the 90s with a 440 in it. Thing was an animal, went sideways at 100 .He shit himself after 2 weeks and sold it . Look after this beast, beautiful Ute.

You should go through it after midnight, there is no traffic in the tunnel. However your straight piped UTE is illegal as you are lacking a catalytic converter

Think I’ve said this to u before But diff gears, forward facing air intake witch is hard to get but works well no need for cams, e85 fuel system should net u around near 300kws. Mates got one with 280rwkw without e85 and no after market cams!! But blow the 5 speed up lol Great vid love ur Aussie Ute Dad had a magnet xr6 6peed manual But got ridden off sadly.. tuff Utes

If you like the sounds of cars, add a Twin Screw or Roots supercharger type and you'll get that complimentary whine sound from it when you rev it and speed along. Centrifugal type supercharger if you prefer the flutter sound effect of a turbocharger.

I've owned 2 B series XR8's and that sound is amazing! And yes, NA is where it's at my friend, so much so that I'm thinking about trading my supercharged GT for a 10-speed Mustang with a 7400rpm redline.

Owned both a hsv Maloo and fg xr6T Ute can’t say which one is better they both have there pros and cons but both Are wild to drive and fun to skid in Mexico 🤣👌 What is do personally is defiantly super charge this beast exhaust well you’ve taken care of that for sure,bag the rear coil overs in the front,dyno tune 20inch fpv wheels blacked out and a fg Bonnet made to fit the ba/bf

Hey Ross, I have a 2005 xr8 Ute, which as far as I can tell is stock. I’ve had it tuned & put an exhaust on it but that’s it. It has groove discs on the front which maybe you should go for as I think my brakes are quite good! I live in Perth so if you wanna meet up & compare, or review mine, then let me know 👍🏼

As far as good mods my bf had staino brake lines, territory rear calipers and fpv front on slotted rotors. And heavy duty swaybar and upper control arms. Imo handling and brakes make a car great before huge power.

That would be me, in an xr8 ute 😂 I have an au sr falcon atm. But have plans very soon of selling it on and getting an, el xr8 or an au xr8. Love the look of them and love me a v8. I'm sure I've seen your ute in Perth last time I was up there there is a blue ute here in Bunbury exact same. But blue. And it's loud . Sounds sweet as 😂🇦🇺

Mate how are you running straight pipes? I took off my Hurricane muffler and it sounded like a track car, straight up the loudest shit I've ever heard haha. Back to the One muffler for me.

@@RossReviewsau well I did it I got myself a territory ghia turbo. As I have a farm. Found one with 109k and as I wanted a typhoon this was as smart choice. Completely stock and I love it 🖕

Do the brakes yourself brother it takes a couple of hours and a couple of beers and they will be good as new. Plenty of vids on RU-vid university if you need tips

Question, have you been yellow stickered by the cops for noise? Reason I ask is you've got chopped mufflers, I'm looking at race craft muffler deletes for my SS but it's going to make it pretty loud. Only just moved to Perth so wondering what the cops are like with V8 straight throughs over here. Cheers mate

i never had an issue with my ute.. tho i would guess if they asked me to rev it or wanted to take a better look i prob would have got stickered.. being a manual i just put the clutch in if i see a cop n the utes fairly quiet on idle

@@RossReviewsau yeah fair enough. I had a vx ss 5.7L with chopped mufflers, only got a noise ticket in nsw, cops there are strict. Qld, WA and NT they don't seem to care that much
