I care and I’m not lying. I bought a corvair in Austria and I’m binge watching every vid about corvairs so I enjoy yours and am glad for every little advice I get from it so keep ‚em coming :)
Back in the late 60's while in high school, I wanted dual exhaust on my 63 Corvair. At the time I went to Midas Mulffer and got a set-up same as the one your making. It used the original single exhaust system from the center of the pipe under the bell housing towards the right side and muffler. The new pipe was only from under the bell housing towards the left side exhaust manifold and then curved around to the left side muffler. Again this was in 1968. Doubt they still offer this set-up. I think it cost only about $15
Yep it does seem to be louder inside than outside. I bought #1479 in DEC '68. I sold the 69 engine and put a Corvair van engine in it(engine swap). It had a meeting with a big rock in ditch at 100K miles. The entire steering assembly got bent in '72. The seats ended up in LUV truck A lot of those 66-69 engines ended up in dune buggys and in air boats.
Don't run it too lean or too far advanced. Burns the center pistons. Just much HP do you need to push that other 2300 lbs down the road? That one does have S-10 frame under it. So it maybe heavier. Also the speedo runs off the stock corvair front wheels
Putting an awd transmission in it would be cool. They came in the equinox in like 05 or something. They will bolt up to the 3800 block. That would be sick
