It's a pure shot of serotonin when I see an upload from p.o.p.! I've been trying to learn every about this from you for my dream build. I hope I can get something started and make something as nice :)
@@pancudowny easy power gains, unfortunately alot of our aussie rwd motor stuff won't fit on the fwd version of the 3800, plus importing the parts would be a wallet killer haha
@@keithgreen4752 Look up: VT/VX/VY Commodore L67 stock exhaust manifolds. VT/VX/VY Commodore L67 Pacemaker headers. Every commodore here in Australia that has a 3800/Ecotec/L67 all come with 4L60e's, My stock standerd 2 owner 04 VY Ecotec have 370,000km on the O.D, no gearbox or motor replacements ever, just parts and bits n pieces to keep it alive and chuggin 🤙🏾 wish i new more about what you guys are able to swap or bolt straight on from other GM vehicles, We only got the commodore and a couple of joint ompany utility vehicles (utes) Wish i could help with what gearbox you need 🙌🏾
@@keithgreen4752 1: Look up on google VT Commodore L67 stock exhaust manifolds great oem choice. 2: Pacemaker exhaust headers for L67 VT Commodore and they are a great aftermarket choice. 3: MACE Engineering AUS has awesome 3800/ECOTEC/L67 performance parts available also. Now the gearbox situation.. all commodores that had the L67/ECOTEC/3800/3.8 all only came RWD with a 4L60e, Supercharged version was obviously better then the N/A 3800 4L60e, i can't remember if the bell housing is unboltable 🤦🏾 i should know I've had close to ten of them 😂 holden Commodores that is, pretty sure people have put the 4L80e behind the 3800 here in Australia but dont quote me on that! Dont want to spread misinformation, we got the ls also but only in commodores hence why i mentionedthe 4L80, We got the t56 also, plus we didnt have anything bigger then the smaller aussie utility (utes) vehicles we had being manufacturered her until 2017 i think? 🤔
A cheap plasma cutter might be a useful addition. A high frequency start unit will make things easier. And they are cheaper to buy and to run than a set of torches, ASSUMING you have good compressed air and AC power.
Nice work, I was a bit confused when you kept referring this S10 as a car. I could only see just parts of it for most of the video. I can't wait to see how this platform performs. I have seen so many of these engines swapped into Fieros This is the first I have seen for a rear wheel drive platform.
@@cajunroadwarrior thank you! Yeah I definitely forgot to mention my S-10 is actually a Corvair lol. Not the first time this has confused people. I’m hoping to do the first official test drive today or tomorrow!
@@nathansandwich5579 because that is what everyone does. I have such a unique build as is why would I want to ruin it with a generic engine that any idiot with a wrench can install. Think about when LS swaps were first becoming mainstream. How many people do you think told them why waste your time when you can just install a small block Chevy? Think about when small block Chevys became mainstream? How many people do you think told them to not waste their time and keep the original engine? Because those people pioneered the future of there respected engine swaps. I am doing the same thing. The LS is a great platform and a great engine I will not deny that. But at the end of the day, it’s going to be the same thing on the road as 99% of the other engine swaps done
