I honed up a Carbo Magnetic today on Shapton Pro 1, 5, 8, & 12. Then finished on this weird stone I got on eBay. It was advertised as fine, but the guy had no idea what it is. I can’t figure it out myself. Gonna try the edge in a shave a few days from now. I’ve really been enjoying Jnat finish lately.

@@BigEShaves I’ll send you a picture. It feels very hard. If you make a slurry with a diamond stone it is grainy and cuts fast. It didn’t feel like a Coti though.

Always a treat when you make a honing video Eric. Love the pattern on that Jnat my friend, cool stone to have in your collection. Do you lap the 6k flat before every honing sección? Cheers my friend

I lap every time I use it but I don’t do that pencil deal every time. But I do it regular enough. That 1/6 is ok. The 1K side is slow and the 6k side loads up unless you run the stone very wet. It works as a travel option. I will be looking out for your next video, and when you get board with that Shadow, i can look after it for you 🤣.

@@BigEShaves my king 800 is like that, loads up a lot even if very wet for that matter but it does an okaish bevel set work.

Lovely American razor , obviously in UK I haven't had one , coticle edges seem very fussy on the steel ? Puma's like coticules, I've had mixed results on other razors . (I've little experience with jnats .) My 1k King is a spong for water 💧 and not a great cutter . Wish I had a decent Japanese 1k 😢. My 3k Naniwa is my favourite, but not course enough. Fabulous control on your one handed honing Eric ....I really must use my large jnat !.

I have a Naniwa Chosera Pro 1000 that I keep at home that I love. But my 2k and 3k are Arata (new evolution Chosera), they are very affordable. I would not think twice about a Naniwa Arata 1K, at $34 and Amazon free shipping, not sure there is a better deal to be made.
