The tips & tricks in this video is very legit. Yesterday I was building almost 8 hours and had to load back bc it completely went the wrong way I was thinking. I am glad I did not save while building. I would suggest load up on whatever resources you would need until it's almost overkill and then start your building with lots of resources. Also do save BEFORE you start building so you not get any headache. Thank you Granddaddy!

BEFORE you place the first foundation make sure there are no obstructions where you want to place the other foundations (like rocks(although you don’t seem to have that problem on PC), bushes, tree stumps and also higher land(like you clarified)). Otherwise you can spend a long time using the move-cursor-and-spam-placement-glitch to get them placed. You can clear the foundation and wall under the dock when the dock is done. If you get the hight correct you can jump out the water on the dock, no need to pull up. But the game does have a tidal feature so maybe check the correct height when there is low tide;)

Speaking of which, how would one go about building a larger circle. Say about three foundations length on each side? If I’m not too late to the party here.

Been getting into this game over the last 2 days really enjoying it so far started building a two by two square house, have the foundations down two walls an one corner roof.. now I'm going from Islands and back again to get more resources to finish my little house 😂

Wow those are great technique. I am doing a base on a rocky cliff and the cliff techniques you used will help me a lot and the way you did the porch and pier was interesting to o that I might try them so thanks for doing this video

I’m late to the video and I’m pretty new to Stranded but that’s a great tip on how to do the pier! I was struggling to make a decent sized one so will give this a try 👍🏻

I learned my lesson today, WATCH THE WHOLE TUTORIAL INSTEAD OF ASSUMING THE REST. I was using roof corner pieces for 15 minutes until I decided to look back at the tutorial. Goodness gravy

Conan Exiles revolutionized in-game building by the introducing the equilateral triangle base. Ark followed in a later update. It makes for awesome builds.

@@GranddaddyGamer many area boxes for placeables are square based so it is negative there. If you enjoy building in games Conan has the best mechanics and cleanest look. You can also snap foundations and build on vertical cliff faces.

First thanks for the building tips they took my buildings to another level. But I have to ask a question. I've tried to finish off the roof on the Y building but the two roof wedges do not align at all. So all I've got was a partially completed roof. Any tips on this? Btw. I'm playing on a PS4 pro.

You talking about the very tip that leaves a hole? Try using triangle pieces

I started playing this game for the first time recently. I was disappointed to see the lack of builders in the community. I'm 60 days in to my first playthrough and I've started building my perm base. I now know why there are few builders, the mechanics are terrible. Such a shame. But I guess it forces us to be more creative with the build. If you know of any good builders for this game please let me know, I'd love to see.

Hi GG i have been long time player and recently decided to do the build one of every item achievement. I had a stack of metal sheeting so decide to build a bandstand type building, i just built the frame and not hammer anything to fill it in, while doing so i noticed that when i put the roof on just the frame,even though it all still open and sun shine in, the game still think it is a solid object hence no UV damage. Not sure if this is a well known thing.

Interesting, I recently was told of something else that was little known. Carry a log and swim to a nearby island sharks don’t bite you. Supposedly I’ll have to test these out.

@@GranddaddyGamer Thank you or replying, hmmmm how and why would you want to find out if shark attack if carrying a log hahaha. BTW love your vids and recently try the surviving poison method just for fun, i have plenty antidote lol but was fun doing it your way. Oh while i think about it, have you heard of anyone else playing on xbox getting major frame drop in game,it got so bad the other day that i could not light fire to cook food the frames couldnt sync with trigger presses,went to near island work perfect.

You have to start fro The ground and move up.

For a second I thought you'd put a chest inside another chest. Is that even possible? Will have to try that out tonight. Infinite storage on a raft with just 1 physical chest on deck!

@@GranddaddyGamer Yeah I tried it last night and was disappointed not to find a cheat. I think they'd patch it pretty quick if you could do that. Have my raft with 4 container shelves full of containers and even dragged a small palm tree onto it last night and it didn't sink so that's enough storage I think.

You can just build stairs up to the dock from the base floor underwater....boom..access to the dock where ever you want

I have a ps4 pro as well ..i will say i used to use a 2tb external hard drive for increased storage and i hwd massive issues and had to remove my external drive. Then conpletely reinstall the game. I realize this is painful given ps4s slow download times but for me at least it may work.. id say reinstall start their

Try the flat pieces first then fill the gaps with the wedges.

I really hate that "red" state. I wish you could build into rocks better, I have a build I'm working on that builds into the rock face, similar to yours with a tall tower and side on structure. I'll be going along just fine and then one floor piece will just not want to be placed. It's so frustrating!

Have you tried placing your character at different angles and mashing the “place” button whilst swinging the object over the snap location?

@@fearofchicke hey thanks for the tip. Yes I have tried this method a number of times. The issue in this location is that I have very limited angles to try from. I’ve tried all possible and never seen it flicker blue. I’ll have to find a creative way to either hide it or make use of it as a feature.
