Best video game tutorial series I have ever seen. Even after a year of filming, people still click on this for help because they are finding out about the game and they’re still useful.

getting stranded somewhere with Agoork would be an incredible piece of luck, and probably save us from certain death, with all those tricks he knows... like travelling with the Bush Tucker Man :D

@@UserUser-xk7py Not sure how you do that on console. It should be listed in the game controls.... but rotating the sail makes no difference to how the raft sails, so it's mostly just for looks.
Don't waste your axe and time chopping up logs and removing palm bunches. You can just drag the whole tree to the plank station and use it to do all that.

Hey Agoork been watching your tutorial series to help me on ps4. Have you thought about a raft building info episode like small to big boat building, is a mobile house boat possible, how much is too much to tall etc? As a first time player I can't really afford to make those mistakes how about some guru knowledge ;)
My typical raft is 3 sections wide and 4 or 5 sections long. You can go much bigger, but you can't place structures (other than container shelves and light hooks) on the raft, so you can't take your base with you. ie - it's not like the game Raft. The smaller the raft, the more maneuverable it is. Anything bigger than 3 x 3 begins to become sluggish and hard to turn. The bigger you go, the worse it gets. Really l arge rafts are basically barges that you point in one direction and go. It doesn't matter which raft bases you use - just mix and match with whatever you have. The only difference is that barrels sit deeper in the water and might bump into a coral head or undersea rock and get your raft stuck easier than tires or buoy balls.
Never tried that. Too much effort :) Easier to just take a fishing spear and go jab a bunch of cod. You can fill your inventory pretty quickly so you only have to do it once every few weeks in game. Just make sure you kill off the local shark 1st.
Really, that's never happened to me... cough cough (liar, liar pants on fire)!! Use the compass, draw yourself a map (or exit the game and view the cartogropher to see where you are), and as many suggest - when visiting a new island, position your shelter to point back to where you came from, or to your home island (if you know where it is).
I’m glad I’m not the only one then! lol I get lost travelling so easily. What you think will be a simple trip between islands can so quickly turn into a navigation nightmare! Yes I only found about the ‘home island’ trick with the cartographer map recently too, it’s extremely handy knowing that central island is your starting point.
@@agoork01 I have done 1 better. I took a screenshot of the map and then edited it in photoshop to make North point up :). I have a dual screen system so I preview the image I just made. I also add details such as resources gathered or not, fully explored or not...
@@JamesHawkins54 Good idea! I had thought of printing out the map as well, but just never got around to it. Rotating it is a nice touch. I think after awhile I just got the hang of the directions and even if I do happen to get lost once in awhile, it's just part of the fun :)
You can't take it off. I think it eventually just disappears, but not really sure. Once you apply it, you are healthy and can move around like normal, so I never really paid attention to how long it stays visible on your leg.
I'd call it cheating but... Add a custom island filled with trees next to ur current base island. Go clear it out and haul the logs home. Then remove the island from the map. Rinse and repeat with any materials u can put on an island...potatoes pipi anything u want. Also look up the cartography material glitch to add more to islands then allowed
@@joethornton9176 There are custom islands you can download that are just that. There is one that is basically a supermarket where everything is free: you find EVERYTHING in game, raw or crafted, just lying on the beach. I tried it once, it made the game so unbalanced and easy that I restarted a new game soon after... Definitely not recommended, you'll get bored after one hour.
@@pixxa37 i play on c0nsole didnt know u can download maps. but i had some decently stocked islands i made myself. nothing fancy just bunch of tarps and shit tons of boar and trees lol i built a 3 story house lol
