The police failed to interview witnesses, didn't secure the camera footage, dismissed the parents and gaslit them, ignored complaints of decomposition odour from the area the missing person was last seen at, and showed no interest in this case. There is absolutely no way she pulled one of those lids off by herself, climbed down in there, and then pulled the lid back closed, again, by herself. She was most definitely placed down in there. I’m from Little Rock & this is a good overview of the case. The LRPD was completely incompetent. Ebby’s family, specifically her mother, who was just advocating for her daughter, quickly developed a contentious relationship w/the police. I think they even told her to stop calling. The mother had some connections & went around the police which pissed them off even more. I think they also thought of Ebby as being kinda wild & just categorized her as a runaway. The entire situation is so sad.

I’m from Little Rock and this case got me into true crime. Everyone should know that the cop first put on this case was best friends with one of the boys, who raped her, father, who was a lawyer. And another of the boys was being recruited by the Arkansas Razorbacks. This poor girl’s death was covered up by the LRPD. No one is that incompetent.

Cops protect their own, but the literal only thing they do besides that is find nice white girls after they're killed to scare local populations into giving them raises every year. There's no fuckng way this department just "decided not to" investigate when the work was basically done FOR them with all the tips. They were told not to investigate.
