great vidoe m8, thanks and i hope i don't need to do this, my bike fell on its side today as it was sitting on a slight slope, sidestand folded and down she went, protection done its job thankfully, just need to replace a front indicator that should've folded but decided to snap instead .
you said manual said to put the clutch spring bolts to 5.9 ft pounds but then tightened them down to 70 ft pounds, doing this now to my mt and noticed this.
My bike seems to have the same problem exactly. I didnt even lay it over although i do wheelies religiously. I wonder if there is an upgrade we can install
I've noticed that at minute 6,00 when you took the pressure plate apart the stuck friction plate was ALREADY offset ... So maybe you should check the service manual to see if it was correct in that position. If actually it was, your first attempt was correct and then you screw it on the second one... I think in the FZ09/FJ09 the last one is actually offset as well ....
Good video.👍🏻 Facing a similar problem on my Speed Triple and not looking forward to fixing it. Seems strange that just dropping the bike would cause this, particularly on a Yamaha which are so well built. Maybe they stuck aftermarket clutch plates in?🤔
Thanks ! It was the stock clutch. I’ve since found that this bike in particular is prone to clutch plates breaking. Since I got the whole kit and only replaced the broken plate, if it happens again I have spares! I hope you can fix up your bike too
@@leanin_scrub You did a great job! My bikes just come out of storage, so I suspect a couple of the plates are stuck together. So I’ll probably have to replace the whole set anyway. Ride safely my friend!👋🏻

The first and last plate are different part number than the middle plates. Check out partsfish or partzilla, you can see these plates are actually different part numbers than the other inner plates
Yes the first and the last have a dark color than the others but i want to know if all the discs are in the same position or the last one is in a diferent position. Sorry for the questions but i don,t understand english very good in the manual of my fz07
My bike makes the same sound on cold start ups. I guess I now know why. Although it works perfectly fine after first few seconds and the noise doesn't appear anymore. Very weird how this happens. It has only 6000 kilometers on it.
If your using the clutch to pull wheelies there's your answer to the broken friction plate and the discoloured plane metal plate. MT07 clutches don't like that sort of treatment.

hey man, i just changed mine at home and my clutch is super stiff. I forgot to line up the pull lever to the crank case arrow, could that be the problem?
Because I felt it was pretty minor. I was looking for every defect I could when I first popped it open. I’m not a pro. I have put 3k more miles on the bike since this and the clutch has been working and sounding flawless. Since I didn’t use them, I have tons of backup parts if another plate happens to break or shatter, including the new gasket.
I’m not sure, there are many factors that can cause a clutch to slip. I have a Grom and just had to replace the clutch on it too because of slipping, and it’s also a pretty new bike.
Just replaced my clutch in my 2007 honda crf450r and its making a clicking noise like a ducatis dry clutch just curious if thats just how it sounds till i break it in or is something wrong
