Anneke van Giersbergen has one of the GREAT rock voices of the past 30 years - still touring ( announced her latest tour a few days ago ) , still performing with Ayreon , still a genuine superstar !♥
She is still one of the best vocalists in the NL. A a big and true inspiration to many other greats. Mind you, strange machines was released in 1995, Nigthwish didn't even exist yet at that time.
Hi, 74 years old hippie from the Netherlands =Floor, Irene, Simone, Anneke, Dianne, Charlotte, Sharon, Marcella, Joost (LUL) & Arjen (Ayreon) Country= reporting in: To get an idea of what Anneke is capable of I suggest: Go for "Travel" or "Waking Hour" (TG25: Live at Doornroosje). Shine on my friend🤘
Saw them in Vienna last year and I simply love Anneke. Sure, Floor is gigantic... but you see and hear Anneke just with a guitar and a big smile and when she sings, the world is a better place for that short time.
Loved your reaction! Anneke is a fantastic singer and the inspiration to so many female singers. Floor has said that seeing Anneke singing with The Gathering is what made her realize that singing in a metal band was a possibility for a woman. Devin Towsend called her the metal Tinkerbell. Concur on all the 25th Anniversary of The Gathering songs (Travel, Waking Hour, On Most Surfaces)and also her singing with Sharon den Adel and Within Temptation the song Somewhere live with full orchestra. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ScjEJRIZGvg.htmlsi=dJsJjcTjet46bnrv. Considered one of if not the most beautiful duets. The harmonies are exquisite. Anneke has also been a long time member of Ayreon. Check out Valley of the Queens with her, Floor, and the fantastic Marcela Bovio and she was also part of Ayreon's live concert last September. In a sea of black Anneke and Simone were rocking their sparkly outfits. Some other great Anneke songs include Ih Ah with Devin Townsend, The Storm with Arjen Lucassen's The Gentle Storm project (live at Masters of Rock), and her beautiful acoustic performance of The Blower's Daughter with Danny Cavanagh, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eyni32LvWm4.htmlsi=xG8O7BQOhOCFsbv1. one of my favorites is this acoustic performance of Losing You on a Dutch radio program, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E5ZhAnEDdK8.htmlsi=6Y100xJYZRlSHewI. If you close your eyes she will remind you of Kirstin Chenowith of Wicked fame.
Great reaction, showcasing one of the defining moments leading up to the advent of Dutch melodic metal vocalists. Annie inspired all of them, while most of the guys back then joined the line, all sharing a massive crush on her. Among the very few to rival Floor's massive stage presence, Anneke is a complete natural when it comes to crowd interaction. It was heartening to see the amount of ppl asking for TeaTime with Anneke, when Elizabeth (fro TCV) did her recent and long awaited interview with Floor. As others have suggested, you'd be treating yourself to music/vocals of the highest quality if you'd react to the H Trinity of songs from their 25th Anniversary concert (On Most Surfaces, Waking Hour, and before all: Travel, TG's ode to Mozart), so here goes: "The Gathering - Travel (TG25: Live at Doornroosje - unofficial video)". Enjoy!
ANNEKE 😍!!! Ever since when I discovered Floor, I dived in head first in to everything what made Floor so awesome... And then came The Gathering. This song is from their third studio album called "Mandylion" (I bought a copy of course!), And I am trying to track down the rest of them... in short, I'm in a Quest !!! NWSU/FloorFan/Epican/Ayreonaut/TWA/PauFan 🤘😎🤘.
Anneke... a curious case of Benjamin Button's; she gets more beautiful with age 🤘 Check out her collabs with Devin Townsend, Danny Cavanagh, her work in Ayreon, the Gentle Storm (you will like that one very much) and of course her band the Gathering and solo work!
I think u should react to The Gathering 25th Anniversary show The song called Travel. Also Anneke and Sharon from Within Temptation. Anneke last record was an acoustic one and she was also on Beste Zangers
Are you ready to fall down the Anneke rabbit hole? The Warning, her solo music, as part of The Ayreon Project….. and, singing with the amazing 🇨🇦 Heavy Devy - Devon Townsend!!
Do you want to hear Anneke and Floor singing together? Of course you do. The 2 of them ,along with Marcela Bovio, sing the Ayreon song "Valley of the Queens" , live at the Ayreon Universe concert in 2017.
03:00 the switch up is to the Dr Who back beat theme that starts every episode and has been there since 1963, this is a song about time machines and Dr Who is a time travel show. It's slowed and speeded up over the years but this is the original - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-75V4ClJZME4.htmlsi=QHKn52lp9U5EFWEC
