Fun Story: I've been in multiple situations like this and I always hate it cause I don't want to let people in, but I also feel like a horrible person. The one time I was exhausted and wasn't taking jack from nobody, I saw someone on their phone at the gate of my old apartment complex and swiped my key to get in. I literally slid right in and the guy yield out, "hey man, can you let me in? I think my girlfriend fell asleep so I can't get in through the gate. I have a key to her room." I looked him dead in the eyes and was like "I have trust issues". Then I turned around to go upstairs and he yield "you dip [insert your favorite word here], let me in". I gave him the finger and kept walking. I felt like a jerk until I found out that "his girlfriend" was his ex and they had just broken up a week before this incident. He also threatened her once.

I never let people in like that. They could pretty much always just ring the doorbell of who evers home it is they want to get into and let them be the judge, or call them on their phone if they're not there or call the landlord if they locked themselves out, or come back later. Yes there might be some instances where there really are no other options. But those are so rare that it's pretty much always some sketchy business I shouldn't be getting involved in.
