Finn watching Mike confess his love to Eleven is all I needed today. Sit down with the cast as they react to Mike's iconic (and partially improvised!) scene from Vol 2.
Finn didn’t react because he was scared of the fans will say aww how cute that Finn react to eleven and mike scene and he was scared that fans will see him react they will freak out so he decided to not react
aha Finn cringing about his own acting is so fun to me and _so_ relatable. Seeing a video of yourself doing anything is so so weird, espacially for an actor. It's like how many celebrities say they don't watch their own movies as it's just... too weird to see themselves play someone else. Huge kudos to Finn though he's an amazing actor and this scene was great
Right? Like I could not watch videos of myself doing skits with friends for school, or even tik toks, it must be 100x harder in a professional context. He did well! He should be proud 👏
I love how Finn is cringing on him self and was so surprised they were going to show that scene I would be too if I was to watch myself playing a role he’s a great actor👏🏼
Season 5 supposed to be Will focused and go full circle to season 1. So i m sure we will see Mike do more then just be El’s boyfriend. As his season 1 arc was about finding Will and he was kind of the group leader.
Mike was like the coolest kid for the first 3 seasons and then they kind of strayed away from him and he’s been getting a lot of hate for it, they need to give him a huge role again in season 5. The acting here is amazing.
The “you’re my superhero” line was a great improvisation by Finn. She pretty much is the superhero of this show but I hope she eventually becomes more than that and not just the person that has to save everyone all the time.
Yeah Finn is really great with improv. I was also shocked when I heard that his whole “blank makes you crazy” convo with el was improvised as well by Finn. Truly an amazing actor, so excited to see where his character goes in season 5. Mileven is such a power couple and I’m here for it
It was great because it propels to Mileven breakup? Sure if others are wishing on it. You do know that Jane doesn't want to be defined only by her powers? Imagine being pretty and only being described of your looks not your personality. That honestly sucks
@@pranjalm7247 Yeah, but that's all he could say 💀 the majority of his words are just about how an amazing superhero she is. Really?? Compare his words to Nancy and Jonathan. They described eachother meticulously. Not a single trait about El was mentioned. She was only referred as a hero, how her powers are impressive. Think of it like If I was a office worker and I was only loved because of that job and that I bring money to the house. Do you know how dispiriting that sounds?
This scene was filmed incredibly. The score playing in the background and Els breakdown and tear as Mike says he loved her... Top tier and underrated scene. I was so happy for them here. I don't care what hate people put on Mike, he's still great to me and I hope he's gonna be put back into leader role again so he can shine
Finn cringing at himself is the funniest and most real thing ever. It’s just so relatable. I find myself cringing at images of myself let alone videos and since this is a video of him from a literal tv show that almost everyone has seen, I can’t imagine how much worse it make it for him. But that’s the thing with being an actor or actress. You have to eliminate any sense of shame or insecurity because your presenting yourself to a lot of people. Good for him tbh.
I don't know man. Jane was desperate to prove her worth, when she was powerless she only felt worthy with her psychic abilities. That proves false cause imagine being defined as a person just because of her powers. Mike's monologue was all about her abilities not how she was selfless, defiant, resilient, and determined. "You can fly" ??? Really? That's what Brenner literally told El. She feels unloved without her powers! Mike should have said traits of Jane's personality that contradicts that belief. Mike's monologue lacked ! Don't tell me you think that was the best because it felt like he was describing Lois Lane's admiration to Superman than the man behind the mask than is - Clark.
@@faefae7089 um then why did he say it like that? He could just have said that straight away, even in this point he chooses metaphors to have this double or hidden meaning? (Additionally, sheis still practicing in communication and identifying its meanings, Mike knows that.) He could have been straightforward here and be honest, be true. And it doesn't really change the fact that he's still talking about her powers here. She's still that hero and defined worthless when she doesnt have powers.
Finn: “It’s almost very notebook-y in the best way possible” YESSIR 💓 I can imagine it’s nerve-wrecking to watch yourself act, especially such an intense scene, and in front of your peers, but you did a great job! As the interviewer said, you should be proud 👏👏
@@omen4304 he also completely copied his words, he couldn’t even come up with his own words, kept idolizing her and only naming her powers, and she knew he was lying, hence the Vines tightening every time he lied, the only thing that actually gave El strength was seeing her best friend, the person who taught her to be herself, dying
Mike's monologue was amazing in that scene! I'm so glad we finally got to hear how he truly feels about El (even though we already knew that he loved her). Finn is super talented and I loved hearing his castmates telling him what an amazing job he did :)
Love the monologue so much. The fact that Finn improvised the line "You're my superhero" makes it even better. Finn is such a great actor. Lol Gaten's reaction 😅
The addition of ‘you’re MY superhero’ by Finn makes it even more special!! They truly understand their characters arcs, it’s been great seeing all the kids evolve since s1🙌
@@not_again9622 that's not what Mike means by that, he means she inspires him due to how much courage and bravery she has, paired with how much she loves her friends that she's willing to risk her life to save them all the time.
@@JustJoe10 Exactly. People saying he's not saying she's a superhero when he literally says that. (lol) And most of all: he is COMPARING her to SUPERMAN in S4! EVEN DURING the MONOLOGUE (superman can fly and move mountains), AND DURING HIS TALK WITH WILL where he actually admits the TRUTH where he says he "got lucky that SUPERMAN landed on his doorstep." 🤷🏾♀
I loved this scene and re-watched the particular scene so many times while watching the episode. Finn did a tremendous job. The way he delivered the monologue gave me chills and I loved every bit of it, especially the improvised bits.
i swear, this monologue brokes me so much, i was holding my tears the entire episode successfully but when Mike said "i love you" i started to cry and i can't stop for the rest of the episode lmao, Finn really did amazing!! i love that "you're my superhero" was ad-lib because is a iconic line, he is really a incredible actor, waiting to see more of Mike in the last season too, at this point i confirmed that he is my confort character
This scene was so perfect and beautiful. Finn should be so proud, he nailed it! And I love that he added the "You're my superhero." part 'coz it's a great callback to what Mike said in Vol. 1. Very clever of him, he knows his stuff. ☺️💗
The fact that he added the line "You're MY superhero", possibly referring to the previously said "You're A superhero" says a lot about how much he understands Mike and his love for El. Proud of my kid! MIKE WHEELER IS THE BEST BOY EVER. Anyone who doesn't like him either has made up a whole different version of him in their heads that they want him to follow, or just simply don't like or understand realistic, complex characters. He is probably one of the most realistic characters in Stranger Things and I love him for that. His struggles are depicted very subtly in the show that audience often fails to notice. For once in his life instead of giving everything up for helping others, he talks about his fears, insecurities and pain, and people suddenly think his character has been ruined and start a hate parade. 💀
I did really love this monologue but the focus on els powers made me worried cuz I think el was really insecure about her powers at the start of this season and if she begins to believe mike only made that confession because of them it could really hurt her. I don’t think mike would ever do this on purpose but I think their relationship will meet more challenges in the future
@@percyjackson9726 he wasn’t focus on Els powers if u watch the video “your my super hero” wasn’t in the script he said that because he said your a super hero in there fight so now he’s saying your MY super hero , he’s 15 he didn’t an incredible job and he got eleven to save Max if that’s not good enough I don’t know what is .
@@percyjackson9726 he also said “I love you with your powers. I love you without your powers. I love you for exactly who you are.” I feel like people forget about that line
I loved Mikes monologue so much. It was a huge step for Mike and his relationship. People need to stop twisting the line about his day starting when he met El to mean that he doesn't care about Will. His whole view of life changed the day he met Eleven. He went from child hood to learning about things he didn't know people were capable of. She did change things for him. But what he said in season 2 when he told Will saying yes to being his friend was the best decision he ever made. Neither has to be untrue for the other to be true. They're both true to how Mike feels about his girlfriend and his best friend. Mike and Eleven love each other. They always have. The way Eleven looked at Mike when they reunite, is like she's checking to see if she is dreaming. Then she collpases into Mike and immediately feels safe. They're still teens navigating their own emotions. People need to be easy on them sometimes. They've still always shown they care for one another and would die for each other. I thought this was an amazing step for Mike and Eleven and I can't wait to see more scenes in season 5 and to see how much more growth they have! ❤️
I know mike didn’t mean to ever hurt will but even so it probably would’ve hurt him a lot. Imagine if the person you love confessed to someone else right in front of you and like wills been thru so much trauma like if he turns villain I could never blame him
I am so proud of this boy. Finn has came a long way. I hope duffers will give him more and better screen space in season 5 so that he don't get all the hate which he is getting after s3 and s4. I still love him
@@user-pu7yt9pw4x he literally said I love you, he finally said it in this volume and she cried when he heard Mike say it to bring her back to her senses and stop vecna
This scene was so beautiful and I get emotional everytime I watch it. Finn did an incredible job with this monologue and you could really feel the raw emotion and love that was infused in his words
This monologue was a turning point for el and the outcome of their fight against Vecna and also finally Mike opening up Abt his feelings and I loved that
Real footage of Finn admitting to trying to push Byler along by adding the "you're my superhero line" which is one of the things that was pulling mileven apart anyway from each other.
you can tell that was the second his heart began to race, sweat began pouring down his face, his body trembling, teeth jittering. full on panic mode ensued. he really did great keeping calm considering it was kinda an awkward scene.
I wish El and Will connected more, they are similar, and both have connection to the upside down, i hope they do something like that, more conversations and just being with eachother
Yes there has to be a greater connection between El and Will. Remember it was El who realized Will in the pic in season 1, I don't know if there was ever an explanation for her knowing who will was but I would like to see them bond more too
Finn did a good job. It was a pivotal moment and he needed to say the words. Eleven needed that, she's been wanting to hear it for so long. And I like that it was more than just an I love you and boom she wins. He tells her exactly why he loves her and that's adds alot to it.
This scene is so beautiful I can’t!! i think it really shows how strong relationship is and it touches my heart ❤️ Even though it does feel weird to watch yourself act, i think Finn should be proud of this scene it was amazing!
Oh, my God! Finn's first reaction with a tender smile ☺️ 😍 I'll take that one! and he really did amazing!! definitely one of my favorite scenes from volume 2 💞
Poor Finn. I cringe whenever I see myself in videos too. Really hope Mike steps up into more of a leader role like he was for S1 and 2. S3 and 4 had him reduced to just being El's angsty boyfriend. And Mike used to be so much more than that. The Mike who was willing to jump off a cliff for Dustin. The Mike who literally almost never left Will's side. We need that Mike back.
Mike really took his time (for understandable reasons) but he finally said I LOVE YOU to El when she needed to hear it the most! ❤️ FANTASTIC SCENE 🙌 I also love how the monologue does not only mark the moment the tides turn for El but also the whole group. Everyone starts fighting back!
Such awesome acting that monologue I can’t believe some was improv like 👏👏👏 Also poor will looking so sad in the background Bestie needs happiness is s5
Byler Shippers: When Mike says he loves El (Finn is such a bad actor) When Mike says something to Will that is inaccurately interpreted to be romantic (Finn is such an amazing actor wow)
@@bug675 only byler shipper has done that . If someone don't ship byler, doesn't mean that they are homophobic. Robin and Vickie is an accepted ship too
@@pranjalm7247 ok but people said Finn was a bad actor when he didn’t look in love with El in Vol. 1 in that bedroom scene, and those were mileven shippers. Not to mention, where are the bylers saying he’s a bad actor?
I don't know how many times I've watched this scene. So emotional, and true, and heartfelt. Mike and Eleven, to me, are the same as in season 1: they kept their souls pure as individuals, and together they shine as if they're destinied from forever. No matter the distance, no matter what happens.
Good for my guy Mike. that was a monkey that was on his back for the longest of times. We know how much he loves El, but we never heard him say those three words to her before. Once he said the first "I Love You", he couldn't stop saying "I Love You". "He Goes through four or five scenes of not telling Eleven how he feels which is crazy because everyone knows how he feels." -Finn
I can relate with Finn. That being watching yourself and cringing at yourself. I hope that they give Mike something to do in Season 5. Especially now that he's got the Monkey off of his back which was confessing how much he loves Eleven. Plus, Mike and Nancy haven't had any major interactions with each other in what feels like awhile.
He was 100% lying, he couldn’t say it until Will pressured him, and instead of coming up with his own words he repeats what Will says, and el knows he’s lying, hence the vines tightening every time he says something. What gives her strength to fight was seeing her best friend, the person who taught her to be herself, about to die
Mike barely gave a shit when she broke up with him, literally just stood there, he didn't kiss El back when she said she loved him, and literally was very obviously scared of her when she hit Angela. He couldn't even use his own words to tell El that he "loves" her, using Wills confession to him towards El, El knew he was lying, didn't believe him and the vines tightened and thunder and lightning struck when he lied, which is a common use of thunder in movies or shows to show that someone is lying or when someone says something hurtful. There as so many purposely put details that signify El is alone, she's going to do this alone. Their relationship wasn't full of love it started only from idolization. El thought of Mike as her hero and Mike was fascinated by her powers. "I love you with and without your powers you can fly you can move mountains... you're my superhero" he only lists her powers, calls her a superhero, which is literally the reason why El felt she needed to get her powers back. Maybe El needed the relationship at first, she needed Mike, but right now she literally does not need him, he isn't helping her. She learned to be her own person. I very much believe she was rushed into a relationship, she fell in "love" days after escaping the lab, not feeling any type of love prior to that, I feel that she doesn't know the difference between romantic and platonic, I wholeheartedly believe if max or anyone else found her in the woods and took her in and cared for her, she would've fallen in "love" with them instead - Oh and also, mike probably wouldn't have said anything besides "get out of there" or "you need to fight" if Will hadn't basically pressured him into taking, Mike only telling El what she wanted to hear besides repeating Will's words - Also, Mike kind of contradicts himself, he says finding her was the best day of his life, he also had said that becoming friends with Will was the best thing he'd done/best day of his life, Will was literally missing while he found El. Mike also said "I knew I loved you the day I found you", producers/writers, confirmed they don't believe in love at first sight, and Mike had only let El stay because he knew she could help him find Will, got mad at her when they "found his body" because he thought she had lied, he also said "I've never been scared of you", he was scared when she shut and locked the door, scared when she threw Lucas, scared when she hit Angela. He contradicts and lies so much it's crazy I didn’t wanna retype it
I think Lukas’s actor sobbing whole holding Max in the attic takes the top spot for the acting performances from the kids, although Dustin talking to a Eddie’s uncle is amazing too, but Finns monologue is so well done from a righting perspective. And major props to hm for adlibing the super hero line.
