Watching the ST4 cast react to Max’s dramatic attic scene for the first time has me in my feelings all over again. Sit down with the cast as they react to the iconic scene from Vol. 2 of Stranger Things 4.
it was very undermined by the fact she's instantly revived by 11. I know she's in a coma or whatever but it really lessened the impact. Same with hopper not-being-dead...
Same here! I will never forget season 4 because of Max's storyline. Either these 2 are really top notch actors, or they secretly love each other. Probably both
Fun fact: Sadie sink is actually a method actor, so during the 3 year gap between seasons she broke each of her limbs and even went into a coma to prepare for her role
That scene when he sees the person he loves not only going through something horrifying but also about to die and he can’t do anything about it… damn, Caleb really delivered all the emotion for the scene and his reaction made me sob for real 😭
@@chrissyakaweeb5617 Haha - I guess I should elaborate 😜 It was nice to see his character have so many dimensions this season. Traditionally POC get assigned a token roll, often as a device to propel the white character's narrative forward. We all love Sadie/Max and it's nice to see Caleb/Lucas be recognized as a fully fleshed out character this season.
When Max’s bones started breaking I was screaming at my tv and then when she said she didn’t want to die I was so thrown by that like it became real to me. the last episode like broke the fandom
When Lucas cried out for Erica his younger sister that’s when I almost broke. He’s the older supposed to be the strong/brave/confident one but in his most vulnerable moment he’s screaming out for his little sister.
This!!! I didn't ever feel the connection most people do for Eddie, even though I was also a black sheep metalhead nerd growing up. I did really feel for Max and Billy though because they're both jaded by things they didn't have any control over and shut down to the world. It was heart wrenching to see Max lose her mask of being tough, sarcastic, and a little cold when she was completely vulnerable and afraid of dying. Over the past months, Max had been wishing for things to just be over, but when they were actually about to be over, she was terrified and realized that she did have reasons to live on. The way Lucas screamed out was so real. They were both helpless and scared.
Lucas/Caleb utterly broke me in the final episode. The fear he felt when his teammate turned up with the gun, seeing him getting beaten up, and his screams/crying when Vecna finally got Max.... my god, I was a wreck!! Yes, Max and Eddie's deaths were sad but for some reason Lucas being totally broke down mentally just tipped me over the edge 😭😭😭😭
True because lucas is what I call Switzerland he is the mutual one voice of reason dustin is sweet ,strategic and brave ,max was the tough but fiesty one,el the heroine,Mike is the heart and love interst and second leader between him and dustin, will is the sensitive one he feels everything yet still traumatized and notice things others don't lucas is the voice of reason the realistic one out of the group so he already felt helpless trying to help max because of that whole billy situation now seeing max die in his arms especially at that age he was just finally starting to be his own person but seeing this heartbreaking him and max were finally getting somewhere...
Calebs and Sadies acting in the final episode brought me to tears, they have such good chemistry in the nice moments but also make the sad stuff really hit. I wasn't all that sad at first but as soon as Max started saying "i can't see or feel anything" i started crying so much. Without their amazing acting this show wouldn't be what it is.
So wild Finn picked up on exactly what I immediately thought about Caleb having a wife the way he said it, clearly he was talking about the film crew in general. That was funny!!
We're all talking about Max here, but can I just point out what a stellar performance Caleb gave in the attic scene, his absolute terror and grief is palpable...this season has been so great in terms of individual performances, everyone brought their A-Game...and Joe Quinn (!!!!) - what a great actor...you made Eddie a subculture ICON.
Wish the interviewer would've asked Caleb about his "Erica! Help!" line that he improvised and stayed in the final cut. I wonder what he and Priah thought.
@@alexvaleriano2508 No they didn't talk about it on the Netflix show. Caleb yelling "Erica help" and Eddie "I love you" to Dustin while dying both improvised and both heartbreaking in the scene but they talked about Mike improvised line "Your my superhero" The Stranger Things writers put it on twitter that Caleb and Joseph improvised those lines.
i agree with finn, i feel like not many people had a reaction to that one scene of the bats eating up eddie. that scene hurt my heart when i saw it, like the way he was screaming and blood all over his teeth, and the fact he couldn’t do anything because the bats were holding his limbs apart, like imagine how powerless he felt while being in that pain.
wdym not many people had a reaction to eddies death scene? people started sending the duffers death threats and someone went to a mental hospital bc of eddies death and that didn't happen later but literally the few hours of the release of vol2..
I wish they reacted to the full dEaTh (kinda) scene with Sadie and Caleb and their AMAZING acting like I just wish we could have had the full reaction to the DEATH scene not JUST the bone cracking
Right but they propped and talked about the I love you scene from Mike and El we know they are not going to give that attention to Lumax and Caleb and Sadie. I'm sorry the Finn/Millie scene was great but it was not groundbreaking and not the scene people were talking about. Netflix needs a better host and questions. Sadie/Millie/Caleb killed Max death scene. When the show was live most of the comments were about Max death scene and how well Sadie and Caleb did.
The death scene wasn't a groundbreaking scene either, it was just a great scene. The I Love You monologue scene was important because Mike helped El break free and help save Max from dying.
@@shylabrooks3824 sure in your opinion but was Mike and El "I love you" scene what everyone was talking about after watching the show? It's was Dustin/Eddie death scene and Lucas/Max death scene which was talked about and raved about. IMO Mike telling El he loves her was not groundbreaking.
sadie is so funny lmao she really give everything in this season as always and Caleb for sure deserves all the prizes too, he really give me chills everytime but in his performance all this season, especially in the last episode has me crying everywhere, he crying for Max was incredible emotional, i love this talented cast so much and hope for all of them to have much more in season 5
@@evandrocesar5534 just grab the pin n burst the ants overgrown honey filled abdomen causing chaos n confusion in all it's surroundings forcing it into submission
Lucas is awesome he was hella losing to Jason but as soon as he saw max lifting he started to beat the ver living sh!t out of him he would do anything for max
Yes! Caleb did such a great job showing that! He knew he had to just crush Jadon like right now bc max was about to die ..it was intense. I think the entire scene with him and Sadie was the most intense of the series. I just love everything about Stranger things it’s hard to say one thing is better than the other. BEST SHOW EVER. ( only negative thing was that “8” girl..the episode was sooo annoying and only one I didn’t like at all. I never thought any other show would ever get close to this one BUT actually I do reallyyy like The Umbrella Academy…if you haven’t watched it I’d Definitely check it out!
Lucas surprised me... that scene, him crying.,.. makes up for some of lost screentime he had in this season.. now if only the group of Jonathan, Mike and Will could give us something next season lol
Mike had amazing emotional moments season 1 and 2. Will had amazing emotional ones season 2. Jonathan still needs a few more but they all need more emotional scenes again
I'm kinda conflicted. I really want her to survive. But at the same time she has broken all of her limbs and has lost her sight. Is it fixable? I don't want her to go on as a blind cripple for the rest of her life.
@@mellemadswoestenburg1296 limbs might be fixable, with a lot of physiotherapy. She probably wouldn't recover 100% but she might be able to walk again, maybe run and do basic stuff. The blindness... it's more tricky, but maybe her eyes are not permanently damaged, who knows. We have to wait season 5 to get a real grasp of the situation I guess.
watching this scene was horrifying. i was thinking: she'll be fine, they'll play the music. then the walkman broke and my entire family was in shock. then we all thought vecna would be stopped. but then her leg snapped and my sister screamed and we started crying
Ye i got sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo at at Jason when he stepped on the headphones and broke them. and also complaining at Lucas to wake Max up, Like dude the only way for him to wake her up is what you just destroyed THE HEADPHONES HJHDSGRUSDFYIOAYFUIA
I thought (for a very brief moment) "Oh, Lucas is gonna have to sing 'Running Up That Hill' to save Max" but then shit got SO much worse because Lucas had no choice but to literally fight for his life while watching Max get tortured. Several times this season I just sat back and went "just rip my heart out already...it'll hurt less".
In pretty much every scene, the writers ripped out what we as an audience thought would be a solution. I had a feeling those headphones wouldn’t make it when Jason attacked. Too easy.
i really love their cast. compared to other teams of actors, they are simply amazing. don't interrupt each other, laugh together, continue each other's thoughts. love them
The cast of Stranger Things is the star of the show, their chemistry together is amazing, love to see it 🙌😊 Caleb and Sadie stole the show this season 👏👏👏
I ugly cried and couldn't stop myself from crying. Combination of the music, script, and acting was outstanding. Same goes for the death of Eddie ( they did Eddie wrong y'all)
I feel like the audio they used during Max's revival scene, especially "Is this really gonna work?" and "We make our own rules", is a hint for what's to come. Yes she is braindead, but it's a sci-fi show where the main hero and villain have mental-based powers so there's a lot of ways they can go about this.
everyone: *putting their souls into the explanation* finn: “yeah, just like caleb said it gave me chillllllllss. also like, joe quinn dying was like soooo sad.”
"They warned me before the ninth episode and they're like, "Alright, Sadie, it's gonna look like you die, but you come back," I'm like "Alright" " - Sadie Sink
This was incredible! Seeing them watch their work and explaining the experience is the best! Idk if I’m sooo wrapped up in this show because I graduated in 1989 ( so I was the same age as them at the time) or what but this IS the most INCREDIBLE tv series I’ve ever seen!!! I can already tell that I’m going to be depressed when it’s over just like I was when I read the last Harry Potter book and then when I watched the last movie. It took me many months to recover. I just would like to tell each one of these kids and all the actors and film crew THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! My kids (teenagers)and I have been glued to the couch for every second of Stranger Things!
If Max were only in a coma, the gate would not have opened. For people like me who have lost someone that were declared clinically braindead and having to take them off life support, it is actually much more intense of a scene when Eleven checks Max's empty mind. If she were to return in season 5 me and many other people would feel hurt and betrayed by such a decision.
