My theory: 001 probably tried to manipulate 008 first like being friends and pretending to help her escape but 008 probably just took advantage and escaped on her own and was like "ok thanks, good riddance". Which is why she was able to escape earlier than the massacre event. This also makes sense since 008 has the illusion/hallucination powers of 001. SInce 001's plans did not work with 008, he started manipulating our 011 instead and this time 011 was gullible enough to take the tracker/limiter off of 001's neck. I was always curious how 008 was able to escape on her own so 001 probably had a hand in that too.
@@mariotuber2866 Except with 008, she accessed the memory of being ripped from her mother, and other negative things iirc. That wouldn’t work against 001/Vecna. She required a positive memory for that.
1:36 “he knows you’re more powerful than the others, and he also knows he can’t control you.” Even though 001 is trying (and succeeding) to manipulate her here, he’s not exactly referring to her (at least besides on the surface). 011 is merely a mirror in which Henry sees himself in. He’s talking about himself here as well. In this way, perhaps he was being slightly genuine, as he wanted 011 to join him later.
Biblical ideas or not, it’s all kind of mythology I guess? But it’s easily known that Lucifer was the most beautiful angel who apparently went “bad” for wanting a little equal rights? If they wanted to they could use this actor for some fun shit.
If I were making a biblical based movie, he's for sure who I'd cast as Lucifer. You know he's lying and full of shit yet he's got that hypnotic soft voice and those deceiving innocent wide blue eyes that makes you want to believe him.
@@undiscloseddesires6816 Did she create the Upside down as well? She just happened to create those things? I'm little confused about this. Feels weird to me, the fact that you could happen to do something evil without planning to do just that. Makes me wonder if Eleven actually tried to kill him but some sort of evil powers prevented that from happening and instead made sure of creating the Upside down in order to put him there. Just speculating here. 🙂
@@Readysetgo2007 If watch watch the series ESPECIALLY the 4th season. It shows that 11 accidentally opened the portal to the upside down that's how everything started from the beginning of everything.
@@menace3583 Ok. But does season 4 answer the question how you can happen to do something evil without the goal of doing just that? And is this event you're talking about not the same event that I was talking about in my previous comment? And in that case, what happens first? Just curious questions here, answer if you like. 🙂
@@Readysetgo2007 I think her powers were always able to create portals to random worlds, she just never reached an energy level to do that until her fight with 001. It’s also plausible that she did intend to kill him but instead unintentionally ripped open a portal, and she was only 7 or 8 so obviously she had no idea what her powers were or how to control them yet.
This scene is so much better after seeing the entire season. You know he's really talking about his own intentions the second time you watch it, and it leaves you wondering if he was also the one who told 2 to attack her, and not Papa, but you can't be sure since he was also willing put himself in harm's way to help her.
I don’t think so. I think he just allowed the “chess pieces” to move on their own and plan his next move from there. Henry knew Two and the others would want revenge in some form for what Eleven did and I’m sure he saw it happen from afar but did nothing so he could use the situation to manipulate her. Genius. Just like Palpatine
Yep definitely. The most funnest for me tho is still season 3. Humor was at its peak there and everything was so vibrant and colorful. But I do like that they switched it up for this season.
@@burcopresentshumour is very week max Mike and eleven are not very great characters in that season max cut the relationships of Mike and eleven eleven judged mike just for one lie he forced to do And mike does not care about his friends But I like Robin Dustin Steve Nancy Jonathan Erica and hopper they are the best in that season fighting scenes are at peak
@@sarahstenske4984 That is not true in the slightest lol. I've literally never heard an American who speaks that way. We say 'bin'. It wasn't a criticism, by the way- just an observation. It was the point in the show where I realized this guy wasn't American. It was one tiny off moment in an otherwise captivatingly brilliant performance.
Ironically they would have been less dangerous. As powerful as these two are, they are still just humans with mortal bodies. Vecna with the upside down under his control however...that's the true nightmare
One/Henry/Vecna is definitely lying here. Brenner wouldn’t have gotten his subjects to kill each other as we’ve seen right in the beginning of Season 4, he did care for them in an extent. And the whole chess is ironic when One says Brenner is moving the subjects like chess pieces when One himself is doing that by manipulating Eleven due to some considering her weak so he could escape the lab. Plus, this scene does foreshadow One being behind everything throughout the show through the Mind Flayer. Everything is like a game to him.
He's so good looking and his voice is amazing I hate how he's the villain but it's also sexy 🤣🤣 I think I have a topic to talk about in therapy on Wednesday 😂
He was definetly lying whole Brenners plot is made up according to me. It does not make sense for Brenner to using other subjects trying to kill Ileven and risking huge collateral damage instead of I dont know poisoning her food. Creel was definetly lying here. Especially when we consider how much season 4 humanized Brenner. And it would not be even practical to let subjects fight each other in bloodbath.
He was definitely lying about Brenner and him getting the other numbers to kill Eleven. There's no way Brenner would let any of the subjects get killed. Especially not Eleven. He's fond of her.
@@rorironan4840 Right! Like I was so confused. I mean I still am, but I guess we will see at the end of this season/beginning of season 5. I think Brenner is going to help Elle.
I'm confused about whether he made it all up or if it was actually gonna happen and he was genuinely trying to help her. I just know that his ultimate goal was convincing her to pull out his Soteria chip
i think it’s a little bit of both. he wanted to escape with her but showed her the way out and even was the one who helped get her powers back. I feel like if he was truly evil , he would have killed her on the spot. but instead he gave her his backstory. i don’t feel bad for him i just understand him.
Suspecting that Henry mixed a variety of truth and lies together: Yes, those other kids intended to kill Eleven once they got another chance. But it was Henry who manipulated them into all these positions - like pieces on a chessboard, as he described - such as enabling the kids to escape their rooms, messing with the security cameras, etc. The story about maneuvering all the kids into conflict/violence made so much sense, because it really was going on, it’s just that Henry falsely ascribed it to Dr. Brenner when it was really all his own doing in order to trick Eleven into following him.
After finishing all the chapters I can say that number 1 lied. papa was already trying to make them all strong so Eleven's strength wouldn't scare him. number 1 planned everything. He manipulated Eleven to get Eleven on his side and to escape.
he could run me over then get out of the car and proceed to break every single bone in my body, THEN blend me up and pour the juice into a sandbox and i’d apologize for being in the way
So I remember seeing this scene with my dad, staring at him for a few minutes, and then going “that’s Vecna.” My dad of course didn’t believe me, and I was only half-sure, but I pulled up a mugshot of Vecna on my phone and put it next to the screen. Compared the facial structure. Realized I was right.
I remember Jamie Campbell Bower from Sweeney Todd, Twilight, and Mortal Instruments. To see him in Stranger Things made me happy for him that he got to play a monstrous villain. When I first saw him in ST, I couldn't help but think this man just keeps getting finer with age. He looks mature now, but that pretty face doesn't change 😊
Theory: Henry was genuinely afraid that Dr. Brenner would kill 011 so he devised a plan for her to escape. Henry didn't expect 011 to remove that device from his neck so that was a non factor. He so easily massacred everyone in the lab so how come he didn't hurt 011? Because Henry Creel is 011's father!!
@@animalloverjulian8243 I mean he technically does have signs of aging. he has a wrinkly forehead and more prominent eye bags. (Not a way of insulting him just an observation)
@@Ashley-km4qi yes, true. I guess his features just make him look young. Sometimes you can get wrinkles on the forehead just from stress, some teenagers have it.
I really hope venca is 11's dad it would be perfect storytelling and probably be even darker than Vader and Luke's relationship since Vecna is more evil and less sympathetic than Vader.
Andrew Ritcher is El’s true father but Dr. Martin Brenner sent him to die in the Vietnam War, and used 001’s blood to make the tests subjects, including Eleven
@@Hexsmasher2099 Andrew Rich storyline sounds a bit forced to be honest though just because Terry was with him doesn't mean he's the one that got her pregnant just saying.
I never knew how to feel about him because yes, he used her, BUT he had the chance to kill her right off the bat when he got his abilites back, and he also could've attacked the second Eleven stepped into the rainbow room when he was killing 2. Instead, he still tried to convince her to leave with him. To "join" him. Is it because he was fond of her in his own twisted way? Because she did genuinely remind him of himself since we see that even back then Eleven was getting bullied by the others, and was essentially ostracized. Victor did say his son had always been sensitive, he was different, and back then, bullying was worse to those who were different. I do think he cared for her in a narcissistic way, but at the same time, genuinely too since thats the only way someone like him could love by that point. Instead she rejected his offer, and he lashed out. I just found their interactions to be so intriguing tbh of course he is horrible, but with her I do think he did manage to learn to care for her in his own way.
@@Vanilla_Addict Probably because strategizing how to escape the lab was more important than strategizing how to win a game of chess? It's not like he actually brought El over so they could play a proper game.
@@tavereztelora right, but if they were being watched that closely don't you think that someone might notice that they are basically just moving pieces with no strategy
The real horror here is the terrible pawn pushing going on in the early game, instead of properly developing pieces. Where are the knights? Kings on the center of the board forever. 0/10 Wouldn't fool a 200 elo player.
