I appreciate these teachings. As an adult, when I get around a certain parent again, I get treated like a child, talked down to, and my inner child that was hurt over and over gets triggered and it takes me days or weeks to get over it again and feel okay and see myself right. The way this parent sees me in their mind is not who I am. So I struggle with trying to reject their filter and it damages my self image after I am around them again and yet, I dont want to cut off relationship as I love them, so I continue to struggle in this place over and over. This parent is not going to change so I my wound never heals. I am doing my best to love and also take care of my self. Some people can never treat their adult children with respect and continue to hold them to childhood. Its so frustrating. As I have gone through this I am also worried about the ways I am injuring or traumatizing my own children as things have been hard as a single mom and I know I dont respond to everything right. Im sure theyd say Im a hot mess. I also try to do well to apologize where I am wrong, and purposely affrirm their strengths especially if I noticed I have been on the negative side more.

WOW, WOW.. You have spoken directly into my life. I have a parent that treats and make me feel the same. For years I have not understood why I would feel so down, emotionally drained and frustrated after being around them. It would take weeks some times months to over come the pain. Your experience with your children, I too bare the same burden at times. I have chose to cut my ties because there is no change for my parent and I refuse 😅to allow them to continue to bewitch my mind any longer. Thank you for sharing this, you have helped me see and understand why I was feeling so down after seeing them. I really believe that they are aware of the pain and shame that they have put me through as a child, this video has helped to understand a lot. I also see that thier actions are intentionally done. I am now taking a stand, NO MORE will they abuse me with shame. Thank you again for sharing. God Bless

There is one problem with recognizing negative emotions in others. people often dont admit to being stressed, angry og sad... I found its best to regognize theese types of emotions within self and then trust your instinkts when people lie to you (this it for protection against further abuse)

I have been looking for this for a long time. Since Tom Bradshaw, I have had no one to help me with this. He told me there actually WAS an inner being inside me who did not want to serve anyone but herself, but did not actually get me past the many barriers to seeing who she was, what she wanted, and how to take care of her. It feels so much like home to have someone talking about this! Thank a bunch!

I actually got a lot of healing when I envisioned a different version of my father and had him comfort me and carry me around as a little girl, rather than punish me as my real father did (I loved him very much, he was just clueless about healthy discipline when we were little). I found envisioning this nurturing version of my father for a couple of weeks did me a great deal of good.

Wow! Thanks for this! I tend to be so negative towards myself and can so easily spout any s*** against my past and present self. With this and your other videos about the inner child, I found out where my abandonment issues come from, though I can't still determine when this whole thing started as I may have been too young, it's helping me heal in retrospective, starting from my 20's, teenage years, preteen, and so on. My mom was basically forced to have children against her will so she could never love me. I think sabotaging me all the time and leaving her responsabilities on me was her only way to cope with her frustrations. Maybe I can finally break my forever single and friendless cycle. Thanks again.

I think what I found most useful about your videos were the tools to get to know the inner child and also the tools you show to start working on the healing process. I've seen other videos on YT, but many of them are quite vague (like, start accepting yourself, asserting your feelings, etc.,so I say, ok, fine but how do I do that? Where do I start?) but yours are very down to earth which is what I truly appreciate (like there are actual exercises and things we can start doing, I have already started to try some of those!)

Examining the inner child concept has been really helpful. In my experience the person has to become willing to "accept" the inner child philosophy. One thing I recognized is how I talk to my dog when I'm just with her. I talk to her in a voice that is kinda like a 5 year old and I use childlike language, etc... I saw this was part of my self that I only acknowledge when I'm alone. I don't let anyone see my child like side. Then other things, I began to feel like I'm a child among adults, even when the group is all the same age. When I get a little nervous, anxious, I would feel like a scared child inside. I would shut down and just try to act "grown up" I thought I didn't know "how to be a man" But what I'm seeing, is I have the ability to treat my inner child how I would've treated myself as a child. I can protect him, encourage him, compliment him, valerate him, have fun with him. It's like I'm integrating my child self and my adult self. I can love myself when I treat my "inner child" with love and kindness.

I like how you used Windows '95 as an example because 1. I grew up in the 90's and remember that slow old computer software 2. I conceptualize my neuronal mapping like a software which was developed solely on sensory information available to me in early childhood 3. I agree that my traumatic childhood left me with this old, slow, un-user-friendly software which only helps me shoot myself in the foot and confuse people around me

For reframing the concept of unlovable..I can totally relate and see validity here..as for being unloved by narcissistic adoptive parents who literally tell me to get out of the car and pretend to drive off..who emotionally diminished me in front of family members, gaslit, sexually abused me, performed exorcisms on me threw me in a mental hospital multiple times and ultimately disowning me.. reframing the concept that they didn't love me is going to be nearly impossible

establish a relationship between the inner child and your adult self so that you feel safe, heard and empowered. Explore your triggers with curiosity and decide if you are vulnerable in the moment or it is triggering a memory. Focus on helping yourself feel safe in the present. Tell yourself "I can't change the past and what made you feel scared, but I can help you feel safe in the present."

@@DocSnipes It is so nice to have a reply to know what it feels like to have someone else's responsiveness to something about my child. It affects me in a positive way, as if I have not had that before. My mother always used my little sisters as an excuse for not paying any attention to me... or simply that she did not have any time to respond appropriately to me. She told me I could do it by my self (which I could not) So what I do is to notice that the child is someone who has not been responded to at all because it feels so new to have it... and that I am angry about that.

this video is great from an objective scientific standpoint, but does not really incorporate tools for rewiring neurological damage from childhood abuse or abandonment. My best advice is, stay away from assholes. Working on healing inner child wounds comes before any relationship, in my opinion so i stay clear of inconsiderate people.

How can I heal the inner child when I never had an example of what a parent looked like.
@DocSnipes
@DocSnipes 8 месяцев назад
Healing the inner child when you've never had a good parental model can be challenging, but it's not impossible. Here are some steps you can take: Identify a Parental Model Start by identifying a good parental model that you can mimic. This model doesn't necessarily have to be a person you know. It could be a character from a book, a movie, or even a parenting guide. The goal is to create a vision or description of what a good caregiver looks like to you. Reparent Yourself Once you have a model, you can start the process of reparenting yourself. This involves treating yourself with the same care, compassion, and understanding that a good parent would provide to their child. Connect with Your Inner Child Envision yourself talking to a younger version of yourself, expressing wishes for that child to feel safe, healthy, loved, and at peace. Once that child feels the love and kindness, move on to yourself, recognizing that you, as the now parent of that inner child, can also feel safe, healthy, loved, and at peace. Respond to Your Inner Needs When you start feeling vulnerable, think about what a good parent would do. How would they help a child feel safe and protected? Start being consistently empathetic and responsive to your own inner needs. Validate Your Feelings Acknowledge your feelings and validate them. If you start feeling anxious or angry, it may be a sign that your inner child feels unsafe. Think about how you would have wanted your caregivers to respond when you were a child and treat yourself with the same care and support. Remember, healing from childhood neglect or trauma is a process that takes time. Be patient with yourself and remember that it's okay to seek help if you need it. You can watch the video on Healing the Wounded Inner Child for free: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IKJPtpaNP2A.htmlsi=et8EJb8x9ebUjmkL
