Made this yesterday and it was a huge success. To reduce plastic waste, I bought a jar of unsweetened applesauce in a recyclable glass container, and some fresh strawberries. I weighed out 250 grams of applesauce and 250 grams of sliced fresh strawberries, then put them in my blender and processed until smooth. If you are using Knox unflavored gelatin packets, the five teaspoons is two packets, no need to measure. I needed gelatin last year and the grocery store only had a box of 32 packets, so this recipe is going to help me to use them up. Thank you so much for the recipe! I have a celiac daughter and we are always looking for tasty gluten free foods to try. EDITED TO SAY: Do NOT think that if you just mix the gelatin powder into the strawberry applesauce with a high-speed mixer, you can skip the step of heating. I tried and it does not work! (Learn from my fail!)
