I do wish you luck. You will probably have a lot more luck in January than I will here. My strawberries are under straw mulch and snow cover to protect them from subzero temperatures. 🥶😃

Im putting strawberries in this year. Last time they never took. I think the plants were dead when i got them from canadian tire so i potted them in the greenhouse first this time.

I get more runners than berries. Any suggestions

I'm actually not a strawberry expert, but you probably should cut off some of the extra runners, just leaving a few per plant. Also, it is a good idea during the first year, to pick off the blossoms, to give the mother plants more strength. This year, I had lots of berries but many were small and seedy which I'm told could be a pollination problem. I'm considering getting a hive of bees to see if that helps.
