Their ages weren't much different. The oldest member of ATEEZ is Seonghwa (1998) and the youngest is Jongho (2000), while the oldest member of Stray kids is Bang Chan (1997) and the youngest is I.N (2001). But Stray Kids debuted first, that's why ATEEZ calls them seniors though.

stray kids are Ateez seniors in the competition because they debuted first. but age wise most Ateez members are older. ateez maknae is 2000 stray kids maknae is 2001.

Ohhh you really need to listen to 'Streetlight' (from Changbin ft Bang Chan). Although the song only now made it into the Skz-Replay album, the mv has been out for a while (since 2020 xD), it's simple but really good, but it doesn't show the lyrics unfortunately. The lyrics are deep and super relatable. I think you'll like it :)

On the screen when Wooyoung was rapping Changbin's part at 22:17, it said "Actually knows the words" a running joke relating to the fact that Wooyoung almost never knows the parts to ATEEZ'S songs except his. The shots where they were playing games and had stuffed animals were from an awards show. It's my understanding that there's a law that minors can't work after a certain time, so the awards show had a fun room set up as a place for the minors to hang out until their older members were done when the show was over. Chan was born in late 97 Seonghwa, Leeknow, and Hongjoong were born in 98. Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Changbin, and Wooyoung were born in 99 Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and Jongho were born in 00 I.N. Was born in 01 So their ages are interwoven (I listed the names in order by birthday). Even though we'd likely consider them all the same-ish age, one year matters enough that they need permission to address them casually, same with a group that debuted before them. There's a funny weekly idol where Seonghwa revealed that since Kingdom he's gotten to know Juyeon from The Boyz and Leeknow better. Seonghwa (as you saw in the clip) is very careful to be polite by addressing people properly especially in public where strangers might not know about existing relationships. We are all waiting for a team Mayfly reunion. They paired Stray Kids, Ateez and BTOB, and then broke them into three teams; rap, dance and vocal. The vocal one, Love Poem, is my favourite performance from Kingdom and something you should show your vocal coach. And no, you weren’t the only one worried about Felix’s jump. Chan’s reaction. 😂 The show itself is a bit long and tedious at times but if you only watch the performances you should be fine. I prefer the ones where you can see the other groups’ reactions. Not sure all performances are available though, I heard some were deleted.

The Kingdom blind dates were some of my favorite moments in that entire show. Han suffering in introvert, Seungmin flirting with everyone, leaders discussing problem children, Lee Know awkwardly making actual idol friends, everyone wanting to adopt Felix... It was such a nice break from the stress. Ok, but the moment Minhyuk, with his shield of seniority, clout, and a different company, made that "Americano" reference to Hyunjin -- when no one else was allowed to even acknowledge he existed -- he earned my heart. Tiny little references like that were about the only thing getting us through that time. I'm Team Mayfly forever, and that simple kindness is one of the reasons. They split the six groups into two mega teams -- BTOB/SKZ/ATZ: Team Mayfly, and IKON/SF9/TBZ: Team It's One. It wasn't random. The winner of the previous round (trying not to spoil winners) got to divide the six groups into the two mega teams. Then each of the two mega teams split into rap, dance, and vocal units that would go head-to-head. Mayfly's dance unit competed against It's One's dance unit, etc. It was up to the teams to divide themselves into their units. That's why, say, vocals-focused I.N ended up rapping, singing, and dancing in the dance unit (three members from SKZ, I think five from ATZ, and only one from BTOB); why ace Han ended up in the rap unit (three members of SKZ and one each from the other two groups); and why the vocal unit only had one member from each team -- they got to divide themselves as they saw fit. Iirc, they also weren't required to even use all their members -- I'm pretty sure I remember than not all of The Boyz members performed in one of the mega team units, for example (whereas BTOB were down to three members during those rounds, so they had to send one man to each unit). Anyway, it wasn't random -- the two mega teams were strategically chosen by the winners of the previous round. The mega team rounds were some of the favorites for so many of us not just because they produced some fantastic performances, but because the camaraderie and artistic bonding and general goodwill was such a nice break from the stress and a direct counter to the toxicity mnet was pushing so hard. Mnet was being their usual shady selves and stirring up fanwars and whatnot, while the idols were cuddling each other. It helped restore a little rationality to some of the fans that weren't too far lost in the insanity, and it was just comforting to those of us who were exhausted and/or stressed out and/or worried about the hostility, the fanwars, the streaming, the voting, the openly known dishonesty and numbers-fudging of mnet, the suspiciously unidentified "experts," the members who were absent for any number of miserable reasons, etc. Kingdom was April-June 2021. "How many best friends does he [Wooyoung] have?" Man's a social butterfly. But fwiw, it's fairly well understood that Wooyoung/Changbin/Yeonjun (from TXT) are the bff trio. They know each other from high school and became best friends (that's their own phrasing, not fandom's) after reconnecting in their early idol period.

I really really really hope the companies allow a Mayfly reunion some day. A whole album of unit songs would be amazing.

The series is amazing and rewatching the eps are great for the soul.

This whole age hierarki they have is a bit confusing at times. When Seongwha called Felix his senior he probably meant that Stray Kids are the seniors because they had their debut earlier. And I still think they had their debut the same year. I think Seongwha is the oldest member of Ateez, born in 1998, and he’s actually 2,5 years older than Felix. Both groups are basically the same age.

Kingdom was indeed great due to interactions between idols. I started to listen to kpop in 2021 and people say, that 2nd and 3rd gen idols interacted much more, but nowadays fans are too possessive even against other idols, so idols try not to interact with anyone to avoid fan wars and hate, so I really appreciate those rare moments when they do interact. Kingdom happened in the first half of 2021, it was a competition between 6 groups: BTOB (end of 2nd gen, pronounced as be-to-be, means born to beat), SF9, iKon (both 3rd gen), the boyz, SKZ and ATEEZ (all 3 are 4th gen debuted in 2018 in the order in which I listed them, so ATEEZ was a maknae-group in terms of debut, so they were supposed to call everyone one else sonbaenims, even if age-wise they were older that some people there). for some competitions they had to split into 2 big groups. so ATEEZ + Stray kids + BTOB were 1 team, they called themselves "mayfly". they did 3 stages together: a rap stage, a dance stage and a vocal stage. the chemistry between these 3 groups was huge and so touching! some months after kingdom SKZ and BTOB met at a music show, which was won by SKZ. usually a different group would leave the stage to allow the winners perform encore alone, but SKZ didn't let them leave and they had fun and danced a bit together on the stage! here is the video (it was "thunderous" promotion: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F-yHoFo2Vjk.html ) I wish Mayfly came back one day :) unfortunately atiny and stays are not in the best relationships on twitter, it was also the case during kingdom as far as I have heard, since both groups had strong fandoms and were dangerous competitors to each other during fan voting. but this is another story :) I think I have read somewhere that Wooyoung and Changbin are from the same school and knew each other since then, but I am not sure if they already were friends at that time.

Yeah, mnet actively tried to keep the groups apart (except for the mega team segment) and foster the impression of antagonism, from telling them to not associate with each other to doing the typical reality-show out-of-context video clip stuff. And the groups were having none of it. The absolute best thing about Kingdom was the artists and their interactions and relationships with each other in direct defiance of the atmosphere mnet tried to create.

Actually, most of stays and atinys are friends but some are just so annoying but we don't talk about them any way I really love the bond between the 2 groups they are all sincere and I hope there will be more interactions in the future

😩😩these episodes where skz and ateez Collab😭 I can't forget my best happy days bcoz I was only stay from 6 months and vote only skz but after kingdom became atiny too which I never think to be a fan for any group 🥺😩 I was really angry if I saw another group attaching with skz 😅 I was so possessive fan but I found ateez by skz 😇 and I'm double happy after found them.

SKZ aren't older (I.N was the youngest person on Kingdom; SKZ were the collectively youngest team, and iitc ATZ was pretty close as second youngest). The only person in Ateez who's not from a 90s line is Jongho, whereas 5/8 of SKZ are post-90s, and the third-youngest person in ATZ is a couple days older than the third-oldest person in SKZ. But SKZ debuted first -- they're sunbaes/seniors. In order to align with formality levels and not get canceled by knet-vultures as rude or disrespectful, even the oldest member of ATZ is expected to treat/address the youngest member of SKZ (who's almost three years younger) as a senior, at least while in public/on camera or until they've "proven" their close relationship enough to the vultures to justify more casual address.
