As Bangledeshis around the world turned to their TVs at the start of the pandemic lockdowns, they quickly ran out of bengali content on Amazon Prime or Netflix.
People turned to local streaming platforms such as Hoichoi or Chouki for content. This new viewership allowed them to scale up their production of bengali content, allowing Sarah Allam to get her first OTT acting role.
