I honestly never expected someone to write such a long and well-thought-out comment on any of my videos. You hit the nail on the head, though. There are so many i5-2400 and GT1030 rigs in circulation that it's borderline funny how some of my videos live off of those tags alone. And I agree on the do what you can part. This video is in internet-time old now, as I myself have learned a lot in the last 6 months about pulling out the max out of your system. Hell, I stream every second day with the very same i5-2400 and GT1030 system and it's a blast. Bottlenecks are there, but as any PC enthusiast, you try to pull out the most out of every Hertz and out of every Byte. Yes, it's due for an upgrade, but I'll be damned if I let go of it before showcasing what it can do. Thank you for your comment, I sincerely appreciate it. After not posting a video in more than 4 months, you literally gave me the inspiration to at least update this one.

@@LowBudgetStreaming I will say, the only thing I...don't like is, that this video seem liked an ad for the game streaming service rather than just how to use gforce to record and stream. While I understand that alot of low-spec gamers will use streaming services for some games that they just won't be running any time soon and that in some areas hardware is just limited and so people can't just upgrade when ever or to whatever they want. I would have split up the videos, made a video on the game streaming service options and how to get the max out of that kinda gaming and then do a video on using gforce to stream and record that gameplay. That way you get twice the info out and twice the videos for more views and content. Try thinking of that when you are coming up with video ideas, ask yourself, "could this be more than one video?". Always maximize your content and it lets you put more attention to each topic and go into a little more detail. Comment interacting is 100% a plus as well

Specs! What is the CPU on your PC, your GPU, and most importantly, your upload and download speeds. If it’s the CPU (encoding lag), try dropping the canvas and output resolution to 720p30 and setting your CPU Usage Preset to something faster (superfast). If it’s network lag, then lower the bitrate to 70% of your upload speed

Great question! Not at all! OBS mostly uses your upload, whereas GFN mostly uses your download! You’ll need to know both your limitations on that in order to set it up, but it’s definitely not hard! I was thinking of doing a new updated video on this because I learned a lot in the last few months. Not sure if anyone would need that though

So, i always start with Game Capture because it's giving me the best performance. After that I do Window Capture and finally a display of everything else failed. Display capture sucks for performance though, but hey 😎

Ah, the Game Capture source has 3 different capture methods. The default one is "Capture any fullscreen window" which sucks. Switch it to "Match title" and find the Geforce Now window where the game is open :D

@@Gaming2GO well, there's a lot of stuff. This guide is now pretty dated and I should get my lazy ass up and record a new one. For one, it's better to stream at 720p instead of 1080p because of users trying to watch your stream. Stick to veryfast and superfast as your CPU Encoding Presets and use Voicemeeter if you need to separate all your audios. For the most part, the only audio sources I personally have are Mic Input and Desktop Output, but with Voicemeeter you can set all audio sources on a per-app basis

Hi Branson! Glad you asked! My download speed is 70Mbps and my upload is pretty mediocre at 6Mbps :)

In OBS under Settings - Advanced - Stream Delay. There you can adjust just how much your stream will be delayed to your audience :)

I’ve been denied access a couple of months back, though I would absolutely love to take Shadow for a spin. Shadow is an absolute beast though, however since NVIDIA released Southeastern Europe servers this week, I doubt the latency will be better. Then again, you can not only play whatever you want, but also use it for all kinds of stuff.

@@LowBudgetStreaming im into slowpaced games like strategy and simulation so latency would not be a problem for me...strange for shadow not to have datacenters in less developed parts of europe (or world) where much more people would use this kind of service...in uk and us they get ps5 and pc parts much sooner and much cheaper than rest of the world and they dont need cloud gaming

I definitely agree with you. I have this feeling as if they started it just as an alternative to gaming in the go on your phone, however, less developed parts of the world would definitely jump on this bandwagon. I myself can’t afford a PS5, Series X or a beefy PC since even though my pay can cover my day to day life, electronics are still damn expensive. NVIDIA seems to be understanding this, with their SE Europe servers as well as future Latin America servers, so we may see the trend keep on. Then again, NVIDIA is a multi-billion dollar company, whereas Shadow is a much smaller French company. I’d even give Stadia and XCloud a shot, however, they’re not available in my country at all.

Actually great question! With my PC, it's not about the frames I'm getting since any game takes priority over streaming, so if I'm streaming without GFN, I have to pick my games. I learned a lot during these last couple months and besides card games, older games and pixel-art indie games, I successfully only managed to stream VALORANT (Game capped at 60FPS) at 720p30, superfast CPU Usage preset. Most other FPS games are way too intense on my CPU and straight up drop 80+% of frames.

Works better with normal OBS :D matter of fact, this video is pretty old and I switched to OBS Studio maybe a couple weeks after publishing it, so yeah, definitely go with OBS :D

What is your PC and what are your Output and Video settings?

Okay, this video is a bit old now, but currently on my PC (same one as in the video) I use x264 and Veryfast CPU Usage preset with bitrate at 3500. In video I’m at 720p30FPS just so all viewers can actually enjoy it without buffering! Oh and thank you for the sub!

Honestly - depends. For me, as a streamer with a horrible PC, it’s worth it, however, not all games are supported. You do have a trial period of 3 months to test stuff out and it costs less than a beer, but seeing Activision/Blizzard, Bethesda, BandaiNamco, Sega and some other publishers leave is disheartening. You’ll have to plan your purchases depending on what publishers support the platform (Epic games, Ubisoft, Valve and a boatload of others. )
