@@digitaldjtipsFor me certainly and i’d guess a good few others, two or so years ago streaming was looked down on by the die hard pioneer supporters but seems like the ‘club standard’ has had to move with the times any denon/serato user already knew this. The fact Pioneer has only managed to get one platform thus far and only on its most expensive player at that is poor yes they will bring it to other devices and add more platforms in time but they missed the boat how can the industry leader be so far behind software wise Pioneer have shown when they put their mind to it to make some good stuff but has to be said in terms of innovation Denon is way ahead
Pioneer has to launch its own router soon! That's hilarious! Device overpriced because of a market that has adopted this as standard, but that for the price does not deliver anything compared to the competition, it is ridiculous!
Yeah it's a shame they didn't put a Pro DJ Link ie Ethernet hub into the DJM-A9, but that said, the Ethernet switch we use was like £20, so it's hardly a huge extra expense.
@digitaldjtips yes Phill, I do not say that it is an expense, but for the cost of the equipment, they do not have at least a hub in the mixer or wifi in the case of cdjs! I've been a user for years of Pioneer equipment, but these days I don't get down my throat with the company's overpriced products! Because of this I got a pair of sc6000 and I am very satisfied with the set with mixer x1800! All costing almost 3x less and with many more functions!
This is great, but I can do this without any additional kit on my SC6000's ... such an amazing way of playing new music, test mixes, etc... without a laptop at all ever. I've been a long-time subscriber to Beatport Link and can attest to this. You don't need a USB plugged in on the SC 6000's to play from Beatport but it's sensible to have one because as you rightly say, it saves your cue points etc for next time you log in.... also, on the Denon Primev players, all the data you need is on the screen.... so you can find tracks in the same key. Bpm etc.... also don't need to log in again after logging in the first time on your SC6000's ... Another great way to use this is on the way to a gig, you can log into beatport app on your phone and make last minute playlists from all the entire catalogue.... and then play them at your gig. Great vid. Thanks, Phil.
Thanks for sharing your experiences with the SC6000s. You've always needed a router for Pro DJ Link, so I guess you don't need any ADDITIONAL equipment! 😀
@digitaldjtips That's a good point, II didn't know that..... and I'm happy that each manufacturer is pushing the other. It's great for the industry and most of all great for djing and creativity.... 🙌
@@digitaldjtips no exactly accurate. You need an eithernet switch for prolink to work NOT, A router. If you want to connect pro link to the internet then you connect from your router to the switch. There is a big different between a switch and a router 😊😊
Al them wires… i use my phone as a wifi hotspot when i am out and about with my SC6000’s. It d/l’s and analyses almost instantly.. plus preview is also available. One you have entered your credentials you dont have to keep re entering them👍
Yes, re-entering credentials is boring. To be clear, "all those wires" are required simply to use CDJ/DJM set-ups properly, always have been - we were just reminding viewers that this is what is needed for it to work.
We just checked our team's replies on here, all seems fine to us... sometimes tone comes across imperfectly in written words, as we all know, so sorry for any offence, we always try to help.
Why can we still not use use the A9 to connect to wifi? Seems so crusty and old having to plug in a lan to your hub in this day and age. Especially since the technology is built into the hardware and not being used! I really thought they'd add that functionality eventually but Pioneer have since forgotten about any meaningful firmware updates for their top of the line gear.
Being fully dependent on your venue to have proper internet with quality speed so that you can play live with this is asking too much. You can show up with a usb with all your hotcues and track lists ready to go or you can sign in and hope everything loads fast enough to actually be useful. I think this is an awesome technology for house parties and djs that want to mess with lots of different tracks and genres with a single monthly payment but I just can see this taking off for professionals dj gigs. Whether it be outdoor festivals, needing access to your own edits or just that one time beatport servers are acting up you can't fully put your trust in an online service like this, not when a hard drive or usb is so cheap. Is this system fast enough to sample thru a few tracks while your playing one to the house, or will you only have time to load one in the background. Your dealing with streaming more than one track simultaneously just to mix but I might try 4 or 5 thru my headphones before I find one I think sounds good and I wonder what internet speeds your going to need to manage that consistently.
As we said: local USB, cloud library and Beatport all have their place. If you have a residency with a 1GB wired internet connection. you'd come to trust it (for instance, we go live for hours every week from this studio, we don't constantly question whether the internet will work or not). That's our view.
This is great, just updated my CDj3000's but the key info I can't get to show alphanumeric when you are browsing. It converts to alphanumeric when you load the track, but seems stuck on the other format when browsing which is a bit rubbish - guess this is a Beatport thing
Streaming quality on the mid tier beatport is not good enough for me compared to tidal. Sounds tinny when i did free trial. £3o a month for pro is a piss take
@digitaldjtips Cool thx for your reply as I have an extensive list of tracks, as I only use It for all my music needs for djing? I know it is espensive, but in 2022 picking it up again after a break of over 2 decades from djing it was the quickest and most effect way of hitting the ground running as I had been using soundcloud and spotify to compile lots of track playlists👍
but who just plays EDM? i know there are a few big DJ's that just play EDM related music but i dont see a need for that. just my two cents and thats all its worth.
For the password issue you don't want the password on the USB key as if it. Is stolen so can your account. Hate to say it but a multifactor authentication is better. Means carrying your phone or smart watch. Plug in authenticate on your watch /phone and you are in. Protect your library at all costs.
Usb is required for track data. Exactly the same as denon and Numark mixstream pro go. This is a small improvement on pioneer cloud sync but honestly, … still not great. Ethernet is not available lots of venues around the world so honestly this is pointless in 65% of gigs Don’t get me wrong I love streaming and my collection is sitting nicely in Dropbox and I always use it when I can but …. No wife means eithernet and that, as I say is troublesome. Let’s hope the updated players have a WiFi chip
@@digitaldjtips Do you think another firmware update would speed up the analysis? I know it's a tough ask but there must be a faster way of analysing that data - especially if mp3 or smaller. This is a big step in the right direction though, especially on current gear.
Exciting! If you pulled up the beatport menu on the 3000 and had a nxs2 connected via pro dj link, could the nxs2 read and accept beatport files via the 3000?
My girlfriend has got a Denon Prime4 and I've got the SC6000M which on both it's really enjoyable to load tracks from Beatport. Seeing that the CDJ3000 takes such a long time to analyze the loaded track is a shame for Pioneer... They just cannot compete with Denon for years but hey, who cares. Most DJs still want them for some reason. I'd love to see the SC6000's in clubs though...
@@digitaldjtips well the relatively old Prime 4 needs 16 seconds on exactly that track while the new CDJ3000 needs 30 seconds. Reasonable difference I'd say. I made a comparison video just overlaying the Prime 4 footage onto yours to have direct visible access to both. In case you agree I gonna make it public. Obviously linking the original video of yours... Cheers!
Feels like pioneer are playing catch-up lately. I love the gear and its good to see this finally come to professional club gear. Take notes all those that said tat streaming didn’t have a place for Dj’s. Times change and you must stick with the times
@@digitaldjtips Are there wifi hubs that allow you to avoid LAN cables in the console? not all clubs have a LAN cable. Can you send me some product links?
nice but i do not use streaming services and i implore djs and music producers to go buy their music and dj software and the same for their music production software .The venture capitalists are looking to strip mine the dance music industry using subs as a weapon of choice.Boys and girls ..just say no.
I'm a long time user of Beatport Link and while I totally support and agree with paying for your music, for all the reasons from quality, legality and support of the industry.... the point you are missing is that having access to the entire Beatport catalogue is a way to listen to, test mixes and play for days on end ..... then you can buy the ones you want to pay for....it also allows the chance of tracks being heard and played that might otherwise be missed or not given a listen in....just my opinion.
@@cosmicpuma funny how djing now needs 10 million instant songs in order to be done. complicating all this new equipment being sold with fricking internet connection capabilities to be included. bunch of crap, doomed to fail.
@indegruv I'm sorry you think and feel that way. I started on vinyl, and it took me years to get past being a vinyl snob... calling all the other Djing button pushers, and it wasn't real Djing.... Firstly, and most importantly. DJing is fundamentally playing music to people, so that they enjoy yourself and you do too.... so however you choose to do that or see it as the best way to do it, then don't let me or anyone else tell you how to do it...conversely. just let others achieve their enjoyment in their way.... having an opinion is your right, and I'll not tell you that you are wrong, but when you have a negative view of something, it's not going make your life any better....I personally love and embrace technology that works for me, but that's just me.
