Great mate, Thanks for the Review. I am going to stay with the free version because I can't see enough cool features for my $300 AUD per year to warrant using the paid version. Cheers from Wild Western Australia
Hi Michael. Nice video, I almost forgot that some of the options I use regularly when I go live with Streamyard are only available on the paid version (like adding my own logo). One thing I don't think you mentioned is how easy it is to bring on guests. I know that a lot of podcasters will benefit from using Streamyard for their podcast interviews. Thanks so much for all you do. Chat soon!
Thank you for your kind comment. That is funny you mentioned the number of folks on screen.... I had that in there. Then I took it out on editing. I was really trying to do a video on comparisons vs features. So I took a few of the SAME comparisons out. And thank you for all you do as well. We need to get you on our show soon
Michael, very nice instructional video. The beauty about StreamYard is that it is all done on Their Servers, so you can add your own elements of customizations, greatly simplifying the delivery process. Thank you for sharing this video.
Thank you so much. I just started using this. But haven’t really navigated everything. The free version is pretty simple. So thank you for showing the paid version.
❤️❤️❤️ Great video Michael! Very informative! 👍🏽 On the free StreamYard you can put up to SIX people on one stream BUT on the paid version you can put Ten people. 😍❤️❤️❤️
Note read the twitch TOS if you are an affiliate you can only stream LIVE on twitch using restream could potentially put you on a ban. You can stream on twitch and 24 hours later then upload to youtube.
Great point! I choose to not be an affiliate on twitch for that exact reason. Yes, thank you for bringing this up for folks that do have an affiliate twitch account
Michael, thank you for the great video. Question: Can you split the audio in either version? Would love to have the option of using the audio only for my podcast.
When you use restream you cannot comment within StreamYard. Only a single broadcast you can reply back in Streamyard. I open Restream, open the comments in browser and you can add comments there. Hope that is what you were asking
HI Michael, Are you using Stream yard to add the text and arrow animations? or it is a different software. I am also curious about how you zoom? Kindly let me know. Thanks
First off join our private community to learn how to do all these cool things. Join for a month then leave if you want. That being said I use camtasia to make my videos. I use epic pen when I do live demos. I use zoom all the time.
Hi Michael, great video. Im new to the whole podcast thing. I just wanted to know, since I will rarely be live streaming, if you can edit the videos you create. How are the features on that? Thank you.
You would have to come in a second time on a different device. That would be the only way to have the second camera, natively on streamyard. I say natively because I can do that using OBS or other virtual cameras
I can only give my opinion. It really depends. Advantage StreamYard: You can stream to 2 places for $20 month plan. 5 places for $39 month. So they have an advantage in that the multiple facebook places where restream cannot. Atvantage ReStream: You can stream to 30 places Free. just can't to multiple youtube accounts or multiple facebook accounts without paying more. Also, restream has a GREAT bot for bringing chat into both RU-vid and Twitch.... THIS is awesome for my audience (where most of my followers are). If everyone you have following you is on Facebook.... then maybe StreamYard is the way to go for you. Hope that helps! If you want check out our private community and learn all about this kind of stuff.
Thank you for the compliment. I am not sure what you mean by monitoring. If you mean streamyard to show the whole video section or pop out chat.... Then no, you cannot do that. It is what it is
Hi Great instructional. Michael, can I ask, once a file has streamed to youtube for example, can I download it. I notice you can't download your streams directly from Streamyard in the free version, or am I wrong?
Yes you can download the RU-vid video. Usually it gets rendered in about 48 hours (usually sooner). when in RU-vid Studio you can hover to the right of the video thumbnail and click the 3 dots. one of the choices will be download.
@@MichaelDaniels Thanks for the reply! So you think you can download the stream yard recording, from youtube, and then I could use it in a membership course for example?!
Yes you certainly can. I have a private community that I do a Zoom Daily Tip teaching folks "something" . I record straight to RU-vid unlisted (You can do the same in streamyard). Then that is everygreen in my paid community all members can go see those videos. You can download it though!
Thanks a bunch! Can we though get a link beforehand for people to watch (not the guests to join us on live) while going live on Facebook if we have free version?
yes. when you go into the studio. you will see at the top right where you are broadcast to ie' Facebook or RU-vid. click the down arrow and it will say view live stream ( or something like that ). then click there. you then copy the URL of the live stream and copy and paste that to whoever you like
Hello, I'm a French speaker and I can hardly understand English, but I see that you seem to be experienced. I know that on the Mac, the IShowU software allows you to capture the sound of a Streamyard and have it recognized by OBS. But on Pc, is there a comparable software? Thank you very much.
Hey you can post individual comments. You would have to screen capture that side of your screen using another program like OBS in order to bring in the commenting. But it's only going to copy whatever you have up on screen. Why do you not want RU-vid comments?
Michael Daniels I don’t want to show the comments that are removed or held for review by my moderators in the stream. I’ve watched other live streams and I dint see those type chats in the stream.
@@HodgepodgewithAngela So you saw other live streams using STREAMYARD? where you did not see those comments? This video is about StreamYard, and it has where you can bring up only the comments you want. If you want to show all your comments just flowing on screen from your RU-vid then I would suggest turning on Top Chat instead of Live chat, I think that may be what you are referring to. If not, maybe reach out to me via my email on my channel with specific details or join our Tiknkering with Tech community where i help folks with Tips, Tricks and Workshops. Thanks
Thank you very much, Michael. Just the information I was looking for. I will go with the free version for now. I will like to know if the watch hours I stream live to Facebook will count for my youtube watch time.
Hello Michael, thank you for what you are doing. Is there any way to see the facebook commenta during a live broadcast in a group. You can't see Who Is doing the comments, which Is quite annoying
I don't use a group so I am not sure. I think you have to enable something in the Facebook settings. Check it the FAQ I'm the streamyard website, I think in your account area.
There is no way to add music with streamyard alone. I add music by using a product called voicemeeter. Be careful adding music, the copyright strikes can be harsh.
@@MichaelDaniels you just have it on the background... I can tell if it is an equalizer or like virtual DJ... I guess its to handle audio outputs during the streaming right? Thanks Man.
Hey Michael, thanks for the vídeo. Really nice. I'd like to know if it's possible to connect more than one RU-vid account (like 2 ou 3) in the same Streamyard transmition. Can you help me with this? Thank you
For the paid account, yes. Keep in mind you have to be the owner of the two account. Or a manager that you are allowed to have access. Hope that answers your question
Wow thanks this is helpful I am learning not that savvy we use it for live Facebook page my friend has it for both RU-vid but I want it on my RU-vid as well how can I be added ? Thanks
That is a great question you may want to ask there support to get a current answer. I believe that the only recording during the broadcast is your destination. Then once done, The recording will be listed in past broadcasts. I do believe this is for paid accounts
How do I replace my webcam screen with a static photo or picture? I see people doing it all the time when they don't want to be in on-screen yet still in the stream to participate.
@@MichaelDaniels No, not exactly. I would still be able to participate in the chat, but instead of the video from my webcam, I could place a picture or logo in its place. I'm not talking about the Streamyard logo either I'm talking about instead of me on the screen via webcam I could place a picture in my video webcam's place. I see people on RU-vid do it all the time. I use to easily do it with google hangouts before they got rid of it.
@@imjustadude5910 interesting... I have been on Hangouts forever. I thought when you mute your webcam that your Google account Avatar would show up? So you are saying we could customize an image to show when we muted our webcam.... Or we could enter with an image instead of our video camera? That is very interesting for sure
@@MichaelDaniels I recently sat in someone else's live recently and their screen just had a logo og which looked to just be their Google avatar like you mentioned. So thanks to you I now know that they just muted their camera so they didn't have to be seen via video and we were just seeing that avatar instead. Although I prefer to see someone's face while engaging on their live but to each their own. So my question is, can you mute the camera in the both the free and paid version? I loved this tutorial, alot of people told me they prefer this over streamlabs. Look, forward to hearing from you and thank you. ;)
@@DonnelleGriffin yes you can mute in a free account as well as a paid account. Keep in mind, if someone joins and they don't have an account then you just see their text name. If they have a stream yard account then you would see the Avatar associated with their account
On the free version or paid, you can add a ticker video. I do it on almost every show. You just have the restrictions on the size of the beginning video. However if you look on my shows like the game show I can do and play as long as I want because I use a free service called obs to do a virtual camera on screen. I teach this stuff in our community, come join for a month if you like
Do you have a green screen? If so then you go into mic and camera settings then you choose green screen. You may have to turn on acceleration in chrome
@@anagarcia501 I think in my last reply I told you. When you enter broadcast Studio you see Cam/Mic, that is settings. Then your choices are Camera, Audio and Green Screen. You do have a physical Green screen behind you right? you will need that for this to work.
@@nexxlevel6427 yes when you schedule for later.... Otherwise it uses your channels art work. So schedule for 5 minutes from now and you can add the thumbnail.
Any thoughts on what free platform I should start with. In these times I’m (we) looking to restart what used to be music with guests out of our living room, house band and guests. We did this in the late 90s (RealAudio). No jamming now of course, but we want to get multiple artists together weekly with Gordy as “Emcee”, reading comments aloud to musical guests, song requests etc. We can’t really use youtube because a lot of folks play covers not just their own music. It was a great community back in the day, now it can be even larger. We don’t have money and we aren’t looking for revenue, just music and community..help? Thank you again for your video above!
@@zoegillman6692 I think streamyard is a good start for sure. You can get fancier down the road. And streaming for free.... Streamyard is really a good choice
After 12 years of dialysis I got a kidney watch the lisa Baxter show on RU-vid share subscribe and on urban health outreach media Facebook page live every Sunday 8pm maybe you can be a guest
This a lot of amazing content! Do check the latest update with the Streamyard community on the FB group called Streamyard Global I bet you will totally love it!😍
