I've personally witnessed Jeff Turnner free style numerous times. He can verse with the best of them, he also has the business sense of gaining media exposure at every opportunity which is smart. Most lyrics now a days are narcissistic in content so its good to hear an artist with engaging lyrics that a broader mass can relate to.

Respects to Obvi for pushing himself. I feel he def. freestyled both parts, maybe a couple fritten bars inserted but overall he did his thing. For Jeff to ride the beat so nicely with his written, it plays off not even being freestyle but you gotta give these emcees props for doing their thing and bringing energy to that sidewalk. Much love from the East Coast.

I think some people have it twisted when it comes to a cypher. Every raw mc I've ever met or heard throws written shit in to cyphers. The title of the video doesn't say freestyle battle. Lets see your weak ass get up and spit anything on command. You're gonna throw some shit you already know in the mix. Part of bein a beast in a cypher is recalling shit you already know quickly. You got your mental library of phrases and metaphors. You're gonna come up with shit on the fly...but come on now.

One thing I love about Jeff Turner is that all the verses he spits in TBP cyphers are combinations of parts of his verses. he never spits a whole prewritten verse. I love picking through his independent shit and piecing them together

obvi is my boy. i saw his freestyling skills when he moved in with me in L.A. I use to hate rap from the stuff that was on the radio, but once i heard his freestyles it opened something in me. He's a beast off the top of the dome. Give him any beat and he will murk it ive seen it first hand. C.G.E get with the movement.

Yes to clear it up I did spit the first verse from my song "escapism" I really like that verse and happened to be rapping it when the camera came on. Didn't really know it would be uploaded, Never claimed it was freestyle, just keepin my pen game sharp. This was hella fun though!
