A song I still hear in my head today when I have to do something I really don't want to, but must go on. Being a man is hard work, this movie taught me that a long time ago. I didn't realize it until I had to do it.
Been looking for this since '95 - found some pieces over the years here and there and RU-vid. Didn't know this came on in 2009. I discovered 10 years after being uploaded; 24 years after my search began. This is not just Ryu's meditation - but each and everyone's own inner personal Ryu's that pushes you to carry on and do the right thing as you tread through the thick and thin of life. To the Ryu inside each one of us!
Breathing, spirit, discipline… Channel the powers Focus the mind Cleanse the soul Release that which is negative Separate darkness and light Mind and body as one (Give birth to yourself) Oneness through knowledge (Define your existence) Oneness through emotions (Create your divination) Oneness with the heavens From strength learn gentleness Through gentleness, strength will prevail.
Amazing soundtrack. Far, far under rated film. Watch this as an adult and you'll love the movie even more. Plus it's a video game movie. How many of those were even a little good?
Ryu was destined for greatness whilst Ken was playing cat and mouse catching up with him. Ryu walked a straight line in life which was predetermined for him at a very young age and a choice that was taken out of his hands. Ken meanwhile is struggling too keep up balancing his work life with becoming the best martial artist he can possibly be and through choice, he can also walk the path Ryu is on. Ken's path is more zig zagged as he's constantly battling his choices to stay true to himself, he doesn't want too take care of his father's company but he has no choice, he'd much rather be a full time martial artist with Ryu. Ken's choices are what eventually always lead him back too Ryu and they soon walk the same path no matter how short it may be and no matter what is in front of their fists.
22 years ago I listened this song once I finished my kumite training in Kyokushin Karate while going back home. Really nostalgic, dudes. Goosebumps. Osu!
I'm 37 years old and this song has been in my head at random times throughout my life since I saw this movie as a young team. A simple RU-vid search and I finally found it :-)
Dear Hollywood, please give me a nice budget so I can make the most epic Street Fighter movie ever. Yes I will base it around Ryu and Ken and not only their external struggle with good and evil but their internal struggle too. And hell yes I’d have Akuma in it. I’d just call it World Warrior, not even Street Fighter.
Great pitch bro. This guy named "Joey Ansah" and his crew produced an awesome live-action Street Fighter series titled: "Assassin's Fist" that is exactly on what you just described, only it was mostly based on the early years of Ken and Ryu's training under Gouken...and yes Akuma is in it!!!
Actually both Ryu and Ken share this theme. This is what I love about this movie because they highlight both Ryu and Ken instead of giving it to Ryu only.
Whenever I feel doubt or fear, or when i think i need some more training to hone my skills, I travel to the furthest land, climb the highest mountain, walk the longest trail, and ask myself the eternal question my master once said to me... "Ryu, what do you see in front of your fist?"
I've been watching clips from the original japanese version... Holy hell I'm glad they spent some money and time on the soundtrack. Especially that final battle theme.... ugh... awkward jpop...
This song is beautiful in so many ways. The explosive energy of your own fist calmed by your meditating mind to find answers within your own heart. Defining yourself, interpreting yourself through your martial arts. What do you see infront of your fists? My fate... Street fighter holds the answers to everything.
the... the dark hadou! it's coming out! I... can't... control it! it's going to... overtake me! Cell: have you tried praying it away? consciousness... losing consciousness... fading into... darknes...
This is great. I'd lost my copy of this moving home and thought I'd never find it again. Can you re-do your download link so I can keep this once more?
My favorite anime movie of all time. I just love it. I also love the english voice overs. I mean...they are very good. Bison is fucking intense too for a villian! Probably my favorite VIDEOGAME MOVIE adaptation EVER. It's the live action videogame movies that fail hardcore.
@p99glock I didn't rip it. I just uploaded it. If you want this for yourself, the download link is in the description............. of every last video in this series.
@StreetBallaGumby I totally subscribe to what you said. Thank you Razor, I ever since I had access to the internet (around 1998) I've been looking for this movie soundtrack, namely this music and the alice in chains one (which I didn't know it was theirs) and years later after I had given up, by curiosity I searched the youtube and found not also the whole album but the down-loadable link. Thank you Razor, really. Greetings from Portugal.
@ErrolDreamer Thank you, ErrolDreamer. :) I knew people would appreciate a download link in each of these uploads -- the last person who uploaded this soundtrack had the link on only one video (or so I recall). That, to me, was inconvenient.
My favourite theme through out the movie...full of heart soul and passion! I love how you hear just the wind rustling through the mountains and cliffs and Ryu's gi and I love how as soon as Ryu remembers what Ken said about "the time will come when our lives will depend on this!..." It all goes from remembering good and fun loved memories to full focus and seriousness!! And facing the very real truth that every word Ken said is *TRUTH!*
If they ever try to do another street fighter movie, I would say use this movie as a platform, just flush out the characters/fights better; instead of character cameo's make it closer to a tournament like bloodsport, even have that dated feel, give that Karate Kid/bloodsport/Commando feel
