hell no, im looking forward to marisa but damn do deejay look awesome in this game, i really like that he looks to be having the time of his life while fighting.
Most likely a hybrid betwwen charge and motion, Omega mode from SF4. I prefer full charge but Omega mode Deejay was pretty good. Can't wait to use him again.
His new sway move, sobat kick and iirc his machine gun upper punch are all motion now. And id assume that his fireball and upkicks will be charge moves
"How Jamaican do you want Dee Jay to be for Street Fighter 6?" "Yes." The only thing that would make him more Jamaican is if he were smoking a blunt or eats beef patties.
We are 99% sure that Dee Jay is hybrid now. Sobat kick, his new sway special Jus Cool and Machine Gun Upper are all motion now (confirmed directly and seen walking forward) with only air slasher (fireball)and Jack Knife (upkicks) remaining charge (we see the players always hold back before fireball and upkick is only ever used when deejay would have charge for it). Its a real good compromise between SF4 versipns and Omega Mode.
Fireball and upkicks are probably still charge (cus they always held back during gameplay before fireball and they never use upkicks in situations they wouldn't have charge) but sobat kick, the new sway special and iirc machine gun upper are motion inputs now. Hes a hybrid by the looks of it. Which i think is a good compromise between his USF4 version and his Omega Mode version
@@EXFrost you know what im down for it its hard to find situations to use machine gun upper generally and also situations where you have down charge so i think this is a pretty cool direction they went with
@@SwagPug ye saw that. Also glad that it isnt always double fireball like we thought it was and thats just the heavy version. More utility that way. Also upkicks feint is insanely cool and Deejay's new maracas taunt which fills the super meter is super neat
@@WorldOfWeebcraft well thats only for charge combos obviously and i think that wont be such a massive part of his gameplan with his new kit. Especially now that fireball has been nerfed as a combo tool now by becoming 2 fireballs but maybe you can still loop and confirm off of EX fireball so we'll have to see on that front. We'll have also have to wait and see whether upkick combos are any good, considering that machine gun upper is now more applicable if its a motion. Obviously charge would still be very important in neutral for far to midrange play. I mean air slasher is gonna be one of the best fireballs and upkicks one of the best anti airs but i dont think deejay will be so reliant on them anymore. Some players might just opt not to utilise charge most the time and go full rushdown super tricky mixup shenanigans while some players might do the opposite and play him as a zoner utilising charge a lot more with the occasional motion. Thats what makes the character interesting to me, the fact that he has 2 wildly different playstyle built into him that you can switch between on the fly. He had the same in SF4 but he was definitely a "master of none" in that regard so its nice to have him look like he might finally realise that in this game.
@@WorldOfWeebcrafti was right that its all motion except fireball and upkicks but also looks like single fireball does exist they just never showed it to us so hey u might be right we might have some important charge combos if its anything like SF4 fireball
SFV is very well balanced. Literally every character is solo mainable for the most part. But the pros will only ever pick the best if the best so even if there are like 5 characters who are in A+ tier while the rest are in A tier you're only really gonna see those 5 characters in top cut. The pros will scrounge for any type of advantage which is something not even good balance can save
@@MuckyduckMel well yes. I would say SFV is one of the most balanced fighting games to date. The difference between the top tiers and everyone else is quite minimal. But as a top player you want the most advantages going your way as possible. Compare the gap between the best and worst characters in MvC2. Its often said that only 20ish of the 56 character roster are even remotely tournament viable. Then the gods of marvel 2 (Storm, Sentinel, Magneto and Captain Commando) are just absolute leagues above the roster. Just one of them could probably wipe out a team of the lower tiers. The disparity between each tier of characters is just that massive. In SFV, you can top with any character without a significant disadvantage. Remember Combo Breaker last year? The top 8 players played Poison, Guile, Necali, Balrog, Chun Li, Rose, Cody, Ibuki, Fang, Laura, Sakura and Luke. There were only 2 Lukes in Top 8 and they also played secondaries so he wasnt that insanely dominant. Note Necali and Fang who were played in top 8 without secondaries. Widely considered mid-low tier characters and well, Fang came 3rd. And the highest Luke player only got to 4th. Shows that the game is pretty balanced even if Luke is majorly overtuned and jack of all trades. Sure hes the best but there will always be a best character, the fact that basically the entire cast is at least viable is crazy for such a big roster. That indicates good balance. There'll always be more competively popular picks but if any player can go to tournament with whichever character they like the most and still win, thats good enough if u ask me.
@@MuckyduckMel Yes, SFV is pretty dang balanced. In the final CPT event there were so many different characters in the top 20. Some of them were "low tier" too. The problem with the idea of "balance" though, is that in a fighting game, it's impossible to have an "equal" playing field, simply because characters do so many different things. You can try to get as close as you can, but no matter how close that is, there will always be better characters for tournament then others. And in a competitive setting, people that like to win, will choose that character.
@@demidevilqueenbalance in any game for that matter. I dont think there is or ever will be a game thats perfectly balanced where you can choose one thing or another (character, gun, items) cus true balance is antithetical to diversity. In a truly balanced game all the characters would be the exact same with no differences at all. That removes the fun of characters' having specific gimmicks and niches and whatnot and yknow habing character. And theyll always be one niche a character fills which will be slightly better for that competitive environment than others even if they all have the same average power level.
How come you post this comment + a few others in like every comment section for sf6. Do you copy and paste them all from a word document or something? Or is it just a bot?
Ive seen the contrary tbh. Ive noticed that a lot of 1st gen street fighters are coming back to this one and for good reason. The characters are the deepest and coolest theyve ever been moveset wise, the gameplay systems are well-thought out and some of the best in the series. The graphics are pretty good. The game has lots of content both online and offline with lots of unnecessary (good cus it shows that they are going the extra mile) but extremely fun and interesting features and details added on top of an extremely solid and polished foundation. Good netcode, the most ambitious singelplayer story mode campaign with custom character creation which teaches the games mechanics. The only thing SF2 has over this game is music and thats not to say the tracks here are awful thats just cus the SF2 soundtrack is just so great. Also whats this about sony?
This is a poor representation of a Jamaica… the accent, the dance moves, the music nah… this don’t cut it, you telling me you couldn’t get one authentic Jamaican to sit in on the board!! We have people like vybz kartel, Mavado popcaan & Skillibeng our comedy is also cutthroat but funny at the same time, as someone who descends from Jamaica I do not relate to this character at all… Jamaican culture is worldwide and constantly evolving!! C’mon Capcon there’s a dancehall culture in Japan? You couldn’t even hit them up?? This back in the day reggae boys who let the dogs out dated view of Jamaicans is dead!! 💀
@@dankerxd4108 Yeah, he's not a capoeirista and Dee Jay was introduced several years earlier than Eddy. Also, they didn't come from the same country. If anything, Bob Wilson from Fatal Fury was the first capoeirista in a fighting game.
You mean the Jamaican kickboxer Dee Jay is derivative of the brazilian capoeira fighter Eddy? Or did you just see 2 non-american black fighting game characters and said "these are literally the same person"? Also Eddy has been in newer Tekken entries since 3.
• Dee Jay existed before Eddy Gordo • They have completely different fighting styles • One's from Jamaica and the other is from Brazil • They have extremely different personalities Should I go on or do you now understand the amount of issues with your comment?
