Street Fighter 6 ED Gameplay Reaction! Amazing Rework, A True Psycho Boxer

It's been forever, but we finally get to see our first Ed gameplay for Street Fighter 6. I'm so happy Capcom gave him a complete rework on his design; he plays like a true boxer now. Ed no longer has any kick attacks and instead uses the buttons for high-speed flicker strikes. He also has sways and a lot of whiff-punishing potential. We also got a preview of the new stage as well. I'm super excited to play him when he releases on February 27th. Check out my live reaction to his trailer.

Ed's sick, I was an Ed main in SF5, started playing him because my DPAD was broken so I couldn't play other characters, he grew on me and what they did in SF6, amazing. Also it looks like he's growing insane on Psycho Power.

They'll probably pull an aki and give him a student that will somewhat mimics the moves but better, more love able & rufus goes around being a lil jealous bih, but comes around.... or they pull a "off screen workout session on him & he's goated with the pretty swag boy sauce like ed & luke, now buff but still verbally annoying.

Capcom did it again; they never miss! Ed is a problem for all fireball characters…He’ll be especially useful against Guile since he has the best fireball in game. It’s our world SF nation; let’s go!

Never? Its been 8 months now with 2 characters and 0 stages added. After this update it will be very slightly better. Tekken 8 launched with 32 characters. Imagine how much extra we will have to pay to get to that point. Btw im really hype for ed im just salty at Capcom

Tekken reuses animations and gameplay. Every new game is just a fresh coat of paint. Each SF is completely different

They basically fulfilled all my wished I had for him. A propper boxer, motion inputs, sways, no kicks, a command rush and a sort of machine gun blows, both somewhat akin to Dudley. Aside from a parry this is everything I've wanted. Thank you Capcom and sorry Ken, my plans for maining him will probably come true! Some already pointed it out, yes, the lyrics are in German, although it's hard to make out what he exactly says, even for a native speaker, but that's another detail to point out.

Ed being a part of season 1 was probably the biggest downer for me on its announcement. Now he looks like one of the coolest characters in the whole game. Feels so good to be wrong!

Yeah, I do want that. I would love to see Sean and Makoto make a comeback for Season 2. But it would be cool if some characters associated with Neo Shadaloo get more story time. The story for SF6 has been kinda meh for me.

Small detail, I don't think Psychopower makes a person 100% evil, but I think that laugh is his perfect win animation. JP does this too while making a throne which is uncharacteristic of them both, JP being more subtle and sinister by choice, Ed being more aggravated and standoffish. I think Psychopower gives a emotional reaction to its user if they are able to completely outmatch an opponent, one sided victories as a root to the source, Bison.

At the end it seems he snaps out of it and realizes that he was,...not exaclty manipulated but maybe tempted, I'd like to see the animation play out, could be interesting. If this would be an Arc System Works game he'd had a meter for it like Nagoriyuki. ^^

Really Good rework of ED. On the other hand, they are dropping some serious hints in this stage. Bison's Hat and in the center of the background of the chair a figure of someone in a recovery chamber.

True but we're already seeing things from Ed that aki didn't have, like what looks like a fully invincible reversal, and better neutral buttons. Honestly even if he sucks he looks like a blast to play which is all I care about

When ED whiff punished Ken's cr.mk the standing hp also forced stand on hit. Don't know if Ed has any real use for that, but I thought it was an interesting detail.

I love the idea that he uses the flicker to poke and annoy till he can just sway in and start crushing you. I love Ed in 5 and this was just a massive improvement

Ed was my secondary in V. I love what Capcom did with him in this game. He will be added to the team once more. Makes me wonder if he'll have the typical boxer weaknesses though. Good against zoners but has issues with grapplers/ big button characters like gief or marisa.

I am conflicted a little bit as i was a really big fan of sfv Ed in terms of his play style and controls and with some of that being gone now... But overall i think the rework is really good and am happy way more people are into Ed now. I liked his kicks but I think him being a pure boxer makes more sense with his story and all his kicks being flicker now was a great choice.

After watching the trailer multiple times, gawking at the beautful animations and Ken turn into a punching bag, now i have some question like if Ed have an overhead and if Snatcher can beat fireball, parry, DI, or armor and then launch the enemies into the air like in SF V. Nonetheless, i'm hype for my boy Ed :3

charge characters are snooze for majority of playerbase. im glad that he isnt charge tbh. Hybrid characters like Alex and Deejay are more fun and a good balance between both extremes

Not surprised that Ed looked great in the trailer. Capcom in general has been knocking it outnof the park when it comes to character designs themselves. Whether Ed will actually be strong is another story. Probably end up being mid tier at best. :p

I have no shame in saying I'm a turncoat. I hated Ed with a passion in SFV, but I really want to try him now that they transitioned him from Shootboxer to full Boxer. Giving him Yamazaki Snake Bite style punches' gonna make him a problem. Love the SF4 Boss Seth S.I.N. Stage update

His fireball is called Psycho Spark on the move list, was Bison's one called that too? Was it called that in SFV? Either way it's a bit on the nose when Rose's projectile is Soul Spark.

He's not modern character, I think that one was an easy prediction but Capcom making a new charge character is the most unlikely thing that will happen in this game or Street Fighter in general. The only DLC charge characters will be legacy characters if they actually keep them as charge character.

he's dudley, he's got HP, back swing, the follow ups to ducking, machine gun and his level 3's ending is like dudley's. Sucks. I'm sure this confirms that dudley wont be coming to sf6.
