That’s true, I forgot to mention Fortnite. Mortal Kombat needs more collabs in general! Fortnite, Street Fighter, Dead By Daylight! I’d love to see MK characters in all of those games.

I disagree. Ibuki uses kunais in battle, which is what Scorpion’s spear is. Vega uses blade claws, Street Fighter isn’t shy to having their fighters use weapons, not to mention in Street Fighter X Tekken lots of Tekken fighters used their weapons like Yoshimitsu. Injustice is rated T like Street Fighter and still kept Scorpion’s kunai spear and swords.

Let's break it down: - Ibuki's Kunai's hit their target and vanish, but never pierce through the skin. - Vega's claws hit, but never break skin or pierce through opponents. - Scorpion's Spear pierces into the skin, and that's where the problem will likely arise for Capcom. Any kind of piercing of the skin or dismemberment counts as gore, which Street Fighter games don't do. Those other characters get away with using weapons because the way those weapons are applied to gameplay function using cartoon violence. The way Scorpion uses his spear goes against that. Thy could do what they did in Smash Bros with Link's Hookshot, which would be to nerf any kind of animation where they show the character reacting to the pain of the hook, but that would also nerf Scorpion as a whole. His spear is a big part of who he is as a character, and it would be a delicate dance that I don't see Capcom wanting to deal with, especially when the safer option of Sub-Zero is sitting right there. WB was obviously okay with Scorpion's spear piercing characters in Injustice. I really don't see Capcom feeling the same way when it comes to Street Fighter.

Counterpoint time! Street Fighter has done “piercing of the skin”, back to Yoshimitsu from Street Fighter X Tekken, his seppuku stab special move has him impale himself with the sword, as well as his opponent through himself. So, right there is piercing of the skin. Street Fighter is rated T and in the ESRB rating breakdown one of the factors is “mild blood”. Injustice was also rated T and pulled off the spear move, nothing is stopping Street Fighter from doing the same thing, they don’t have to show any blood. Scorpion stabbing the opponent with his kunai is fundamentally no different than Ibuki using her kunais or Vega slashing with his claws, and again, like I mentioned with Yoshimitsu’s impalement attack. If those are considered “cartoon violence” Capcom would just do the same exact thing for Scorpion and make his weapons apply to the same rules. It’s a very non-issue that I don’t think Capcom would struggle with like you’re saying. Either one of two things: Scorpion’s spear is the same as normal without any blood, or if they really feel the need to make it less violent, have the rope/chain attached to the spear wrap around the opponent and bring them towards him.

@@nickfamous There is no Street Fighter game that has characters getting impaled with weapons. Yoshimitsu is a very special case because he only impales himself in Street Fighter X Tekken using seppuku. The blade comes out of the other side of his body and damages the opponent through touch contact, but it only impales Yoshimitsu. The reason why Capcom was likely okay with Yoshimitsu doing that is because the integrity of the Capcom characters wasn't compromised by Yoshimatsu impaling only himself. The main concern with IP holders doing crossovers is retaining IP integrity. Scorpion's spear requires impaling OTHER characters, which is where the issue will likely be for Capcom, and why they'd probably go for Sub-Zero if a cross over were to happen. As for Vega and Ibuki being brought up again, I already explained this. There's no gore element to their moves. No blades going through bodies. Just swipes and projectiles that vanish after contact with no blood. They don't even belong in the conversation.

I say we agree to disagree. I understand the point you’re trying to make but to say it’s okay for Yoshimitsu to impale himself but not for Scorpion to impale another fighter doesn’t make much sense to me. Besides, Yoshimitsu clearly impales the opponent if you slow it down frame by frame, you can see his sword does go through the other fighter’s model, and they fall to the ground as if they’ve just been stabbed, so it doesn’t seem to be an issue on Capcom’s end. They would definitely be able to integrate Scorpion’s kunai move and keep the integrity of his character.

Mortal Kombat is a very good franchise. So keep your hating crap away from it
