"I shall meet you at your journeys end, *Ryu!* " Damn... After so many battles with this man, Akuma finally shown some respect to the one he called "Boy".
For street fighter 4 Pioxys i know evil ryu is obviously a what if version of the normal one. But it was always a headcanon of mine that evil ryu(ultra sf 4 version) and the good ryu were actually different seperate characters, evil ryu was actually a young gouki, and that we were really seeing how akuma gave into to satsui no hado, the whole time. P.S in street fighter 4 ultra we are seeing akuma's past being shown through an evil interpretation of ryu. The what if oni character is what gouki is to become in the future,in an unknown timeline likely after the events of sf3. The ryu,the one with the white karate gear, student of gouken and friend to ken masters,is a different Character, seperate from the satsui no hado version. Basically what I'm trying to say is that we were seeing two seperate timelines of who we thought was one character . from two seperate time periods the whole time evil ryu in super street fighter 4 was actually gouki,in his youth, and we were fooled into thinking he was an evil version of ryu. I know that you're going to say that that's retarded or dumb so don't bother replying,if you don't want to. And before you say what about asura's wrath, that game was non canon, meaning it never officially happened in the main street fighter storyline, akuma never went oni and ryu never went dark mode, because it's established in the main canon that if those two characters became their ultimate counterparts they would be stuck like that forever. And don't bring up non canon sources like udon comics or mangas. Oni never fought ryu. And it's a fact that in canon that ryu fully rid himself away of the no hado for good by the time of sf3,anyway like i said in my theory. The evil ryu in street fighter 4 and ryu who is the main character in all street fighter games are seperate characters from different eras. The hypothetical evil ryu in reality is actually young gouki in the past, and ryu the student of master gouken, friend of ken and the man who scared sagat,is a different person entirely in the present day era. Feel free to tell me what you think.
AND I'M MOT SAYING AKUMA IS ACTUALLY RYU,I,M. SAYING THAT IN SUPER STREET FIGHTER 4 WE WERE ACTUALLY SEEING AKUMA'S PAST WITH EVIL RYU BEING USED AS GOUKI'S INTERPRETATION.
@@GhostFan-ev4di only problem is that evil ryu is more violent and inhumane than Akuma ever was. M. bison and evil ryu are two of the only fighters Akuma considered reprehensible and better off dead.
@ultrixsoma2736 akuma has always respected ryu. He see's his potential. Also in one of the street fighter 4 endings its strongly implied akuma wants to train ryu. He probably sees his brother as a weak master who doesn't deserve a pupil with as much promise as ryu
Yep, but Gen overcame it, and in the end, Akuma still kills him because of his "respect" for him, as well as how he must have felt irritated when Gen told him because he threw his humanity away, he never will TRULY become as strong as he could be.
NinjaWorldWarrior16 I wouldn't say most powerful as much as the fact that Necalli has a very weird body. It's almost similar to liquid. He can't die, but he has been defeated. This instance where Akuma beats him, but Ryu has also defeated Necalli.
Shantien The Great: Necalli appeared in a weaker form than expected due to the fact he absorbed Warrior Prophet, who isn't a notable fighter, but they might introduce a darker form of Necalli in the future, he must do something before disappearing for hundreds of years.
That was such a corny ending, they should have just let Akuma try to kill Ryu and get Ken or Gouken to save him or something. Then again, the single player in SFV is pretty terrible across the board, so this weird story arc isn't surprising.
@@themightyarchangel I know this reply is late as hell, but if Akuma wanted to kill Ryu don't you think he would have done it by now? Akuma let's Ryu live so Ryu can give into the satsui no hado so he can fight him to the death. This is clearly a sense of character development for Akuma as Gen's words reach him, and his philosophy changes when he fights Kage. Akuma fights with a sense of purpose and honor, he literally had no reason to even think about killing Ryu.
"But without knowing the path of humanity, you will never reach of the divine..." - Gen wasn't wrong. As powerful as Akuma gets from controlling the Satsui no Hado, it's obvious his fate is meant to be that it will consume him and he will become Oni in the end of it all. And besides just seeing Gen had been weakened, Akuma must have been irritated by what he said, besides his "respect" of finishing him off with the Shun Goku Satsu or whatever he used to kill Gen. And given how Rose said in her victory quote to Oni back in Super Street Fighter IV that he isn't meant to appear "yet", there's a BIG chance Akuma eventually will slip up, and become consumed by the Satsui no Hado, since he lacks the balance to use it, compared to others like Goutetsu as well as Oro (even if he uses a facsimile), and how for Ryu, learning to fully awaken the Power of Nothingness aka Mu no Ken as well as telling Kage, his shadow and the essence of the Satsui no Hado within him that he can exist if he wants, allowed him to find the peace he needed.
Robert Rivera Agreed. This is probably because Ryu has the greatest potential becoming the best fighter, we know that Akuma always wants to battle Ryu when Ryu has reach his full potential, M. Bison wants Ryu to be his next body and Oro wants Ryu to be his disciple.
Sheldon Cooper81 but from this story mode, it seems that Akuma has given up on encouraging Ryu for using Satsui no Hado. Akuma seems more intended to fight Ryu in Mu no Hadou again in the future.
Heru Affandy Yes thats sad i loved the Akuma vs Evil Ryu Matches and Storylines even tough I HATED Evil Ryu s design in Street Fighter IV Capcom vs SNK 2 and Alpha 3 had the Best Evil Ryu s designs
Akuma finally killed Gen I love how Akuma & Gen story was a continuation of Gen seeking Akuma out again from Street Fighter IV Gen is Akuma best rival I know he took Akuma to his limits both top tier characters Akuma has the best story in V.
Allison Exotic yet the story of this game chronologically is a prequel to street fighter 3. In that game akuma looked how he always suppose with his hair tied, except he had gray streaks in his red hair.
I know this is late as fuck but to answer your question I believe it's to give him more of a lion like appearance. To bring up religion there is a saying in the bible "Be sober ,Be Vigilant, For the enemy the devil is like a roaring lion in search of who he may devour..." and since akuma character is supposed to be demon like maybe this was used as inspiration for his design and such? By the way I dont mean to bring religion in on a video game but I just thought it made sense somehow since akuma practically does have a lion's mane pretty much lol 😅🤣
At least we don't have Chain Smoker Akuma as the English voice anymore. Though this one.....er.....is going to need some time for me to get used to it. It seems to lack the overly dramatic hamminess of the prior ones. And call me a filthy weeaboo if you will, but for some reason I can't shake the feeling that his Japanese voices sounded better. .....Well, the gameplay seems tight from a viewer's perspective. That's good, I guess.
Strike that, that ending made me want to go to the grocery store and get some cheap wine to go with that cheese. Good Guy Akuma confirmed. Not that he ever was aligned with anyone to begin with.
...Oh. Ok. ...... I really have no comment for this. This is fine. I only wish I played the Mortal Kombat games more often (or at all) so I could relate better to what you said. Did he sound good in the latest version that had his voice actor speaking in it?
WTF.What does the bullshit they're saying even mean? my fist asks your fist? At this point, I wish SF5 had no story mode. It's so bad.Fanfic writers can do a better job than capcom.
So, basically. Akuma wants to reach true god levels of strenght..So far he is beyond demon. Clever, here you see Gen telling Akuma he needs to be more human to reach that level that eludes him. In SF4 Ryu told Akuma thst he threw his humanity away. I wonder if this is the reaosn why Aku.a ia more human in sf5
I would say Akuma is somewhat evil but isn't crazy evil, I mean he wouldn't go around kidnapping orphans like Bison might do to make soliders, but if he was fighting someone he wouldn't care if his fight took him through an orphanage razing it to the ground in the carnage.
Not necessarily most of Akuma fights have been in undisclosed location away innocents we he start doing what he does I'm pretty sure where ever he fight there will be devestation
