I'd have to pick the Saturn version simply for the controller.

Sega wins. Dreamcast real arcade.

Really small differences with Dreamcast having better sharpness and color saturation. But you really cant go wrong with any version. This is more a win for Saturn than DC.

I own both versions. They’re both great, but the Saturn version is better. The Saturn version has many more modes, and it isn’t missing any animation frames. For example; T-Hawk is missing his backwards walking animation in the Dreamcast version. The Dreamcast version also doesn’t control as well. There’s a reason the Saturn version sells for $400+ and the Dreamcast version only sells for $100.

The audio is much cleaner in the Dreamcast but man the Saturn holds it own on this.

The Dreamcast is not 128-bit. It's running a 64-bit CPU. The operating environment of all it's games are therefore 64-bit.

I never liked the way 2D games looked on Dreamcast. It always had a soft pixellated look that looked rough to me. The Saturn looked much sharper and cleaner. It really was the ultimate 2D machine, outside of the Neo Geo of course.

I'm no professional/tournament gamer, but I've never understood the hate for the DC version. I bought the PS1, DC, and Saturn versions from Japan all on release day. Even the PS1 version is very playable. Thanks for the side by side. If nothing else, it really shows how great the Saturn was with the 4MB expansion cart for these awesome Capcom fighters.

Both are tied but Dreamcast loads a bit faster but better resolution and transparency that was missing from the Saturn and extra features 60fps smooth, I kno I’ll get bashed by Saturn/PSP purists.

Thanks from my heart for this video, the saturn and dreamcast both was close to the arcade, the best fighting game ever in 1998 ,days will never forget.

Awesome! Dreamcast version seems to be displaying more and slightly more vibrant colors in the backgrounds but otherwise it's pretty neck and neck. Despite having lakcluster 3d abilities, the Saturn was the best of its generation for 2d.

This makes me want mvc1 for saturn that much more. Perfect God level comparison video. Been wondering for years which one is better. SATURN in my opinion for controller and anims.

Gosto muito das comparações...muito legal ver diferenças, detalhes, em alguns casos censura, potência, capacidade e efeitos...

Both the Saturn & Dreamcast versions are awesome. My absolute favorite version though is the PSP version, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max. It was a FANTASTIC port on the PSP with some neat extras/exclusives. They added Eagle (Street Fighter), Yun (Street Fighter III), and Maki (Final Fight 2) who were originally exclusive playable characters in the GBA version to the roster and gave them their own unique storylines and endings, they also added Ingrid from Capcom Fighting Evolution as a playable character, in "Dramatic Battle" you can choose your 2 characters instead of only having Ken & Ryu from the outset, a "Variable Battle" mode was added where you can tag your partner in and out, and the "Reverse Dramatic Battle" mode from the Sega Saturn version where you continuously fight 2 characters at once, was also added. If you own a PSP it's quite literally a no brainer to own.
