Traveling Europe. I preferred the Netherlands. But nothing beats my homeland (Mexico), why? Because most view Mexico in one dimension as just Mexico inhabited by mexicans. But Mexico is melting pot of cultures.. Spaniards, Russians, Germans, Middle Eastern, Dutch, Gringos, Canadians etc etc.
Ich liebte es, von Michel Thomas zu lernen. If you can locate the AUDIO only recordings of German with Michel Thomas you will get the basics to build your learning on... I loved traveling Germany and France... You are going to LOVE this adventure!! Hopefully you will make it to Spain and Portugal as well.
It's so funny when you talked about the chestnuts. I had never eaten roasted chestnuts, nor saw them anywhere before I came to Tbilisi, Georgia. They sell them everywhere on the street here and are very popular. I always think of the "chestnuuuts roasting on an open fiiiiire" when I see them, so I'm glad you thought the same! 🤣
Ok, just one more comment; when you get to Bavaria you may notice that German will sound a lot more harsh and boisterous compared to Switzerland, where the language is much more smooth and soft.
So fun to follow you two! Can’t believe this is your first time in Europe! You MUST go to Spain!!!! It is outrageously beautiful; I just know you will LOVE it!!!
Though it was nearly 40 years ago, I remember more German than I know Spanish after living in Mexico for 2 years now. Maybe because I was younger, but it’s weird when I’m trying to learn more Spanish.
Just imagine, Zürich and many other cities in Switzerland were founded and built by the romans. So many of the allyways you went through have been there since more than 2000 years and were often market streets in the roman empire! That's why those allys are so narrow and winding and not built for cars. They were made for Roman pedestrians, while the larger streets were built for Roman carriages.
So German is easy? I would think it far, far more difficult than Spanish although I would like to learn German as well. Also would like to brush up on my French. I had three years of French in college but never got much exposure to it so I have not kept up with it and have lost a lot. i have had much more exposure to Spanish so I think of it as being easier.
If you go to the south of Switzerland you will find more Italian spoken then German. You chose a beautiful country for your first European adventure. Enjoy!
When I was there everything smelled like piss and a homeless(I assume) person rampaged in the mcdonald. The sights are beautiful but I would never want to live there.
I was so listo to hate this...Mexico es mi patria chica. But you two work wonders wherever you go. It must be freezing, and can you really trust the street food? No avocados!!! Kill me now. Les amo.
Cheers to you guys for the wonderful videos.....planning to go in south of France next year....and see you both in puerto Vallarta in November....enjoy those moments...💗
Hi Hilary and Greg just catching up on you Zurich adventures. I wanted to say I’m so excited for you guys to be checking off some of your bucket list adventures. Zurich is now on my list of countries to visit. Sending you guys love from Mexico. Enjoy!!!!
Yep, it's all good except the prices of things there. Germany and Netherlands also. Enjoy your travels and the wonderful train system to get you there.
I hope you’re going to Germany. You have to eat ice cream there. I know no one thinks of ice cream in connection with Germany, but they really should! Amarena Becher!
I’m enjoying watching you experience Europe. We have a timeshare in PV and have followed you for years. My wife and I travel to Europe every year and love seeing your expressions as you see things for the first time. It reminds me of our first visit.
It’s such a pity you are not in Mexico anymore but on the other hand it’s great you’re visiting new and interesting places. If you learned Spanish you will learn any other language without problem. 👍🏼
I wonder...is there a way to sponsor you, specifically? Like, if you are in Switzerland or Germany, and we'd really like to see you eat an authentic meal, is there a way to "feed the Kennons" on this bucket list? Because I came to the channel to learn about Mexico, but now you are stepping into worlds I know (and others, too). I think people would love to see you have a proper cup of Swiss cafe, or rouladen, or...you get the idea.
Hola Heidi! Thank you for this. We have a link on our website where people can send us $ via Venmo and I suppose that could work. Or maybe we could like create something special for "buy us dinner" somehow?! I'll start to brainstorming. Thank you! Hope you are doing well!
@@kinetickennons I think that's a good idea. You show us Mexico, and we'll show you the world, one dinner at a time. Maybe "This dinner sponsored by..." but make boundaries so you don't get forced to eat or experience something you don't want or can't.
One additional thought: you probably don't want to give away your upcoming locations, but maybe you could a little? And people could target sponsoring specific things for specific locations. Because you'd want the $ while you are AT the location, not after you leave.
I'm Mexican and lived in Germany years ago. I didn't want to keep learning German. I have the B2 level. But I don't use it in another country. And German language is very difficult to learn. Really. I'm learning French and I love it and is more similar to Spanish. Instead German 😂 like nothing in common but it's very easy to pronounce being Mexican because the pronunciation is kinda similar but without the robotic of the German pronunciation. I like and miss the German nature, and bread.
