OK, just discovered your channel tonight. I'm an American who LOVES to travel to Switzerland. (I used to have family that lived there.) I tend to really study an area before I visit, and I do speak a smattering of German, though not Swiss German, so my first trip was a little less rough than yours. I've been blessed to be there enough times in the last decade that I've mastered their fabulous transportation system, shopping at COOP or Migros, and am familiar with the reserved culture of the Swiss. That said, I'm having a delightful time seeing my beloved country again for the first time through you. My Facebook travel posts from throughout the country have intrigued some friends over the years and I'm taking them on my personal "tour" there this September. While we've spent the past year planning and I'm trying to prepare them by sharing things that are different, watching your video is helping me to go back to the beginning and remember all the novelty so that I can be a better tour guide for them. The wonder and the unexpected is so much of the fun not to mention the fabulous scenery. Looking forward to seeing where your adventure takes you.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but I wanted to share a tip: when you cross out something on your list, write the date next to it. It helps put your bucket list into perspective.

I just came across your videos today. Enjoy them very much 👍😄. I am a German who lived in the US for 18 years and moved back to Germany in 2008. I have not read all the comments here - so somone might already made that point. Also here in Germany YOU DO NOT JAYWALK , and that is first for little kids, because they see you jaywalk and might get killed, and second , we live a more relaxed and slower life. We have those extra minutes at the traffic light. 😉 . Keep at it with your videos, great . P.S. I was actually born and raised in Garmisch 😂 . Yes, a dream place to live your childhood. 🙋‍♂️

The video that I really enjoyed was the video in Tequisquiapan where my Mother lived. Welcome to E-X-P-E-N-S-I-V-E-N-E-S-S in all capital letters, a country where people are rigid, stiff, cold, rules oriented, but it is beautiful. Let's gauge that, happiness vs. quality of living. Bucket list Swiss item. See the Matterhorn. Take the train to Visp (I think you change trains in Brig). Then change to the cogwheel train to Zermatt. Once you're in Zermatt, change to the cogwheel train that goes to the top of the Gornergrat. Some of the best alpine scenery there is. Be warned though. 330 days a year it's cloudy and foggy and you won't be able to see the Matterhorn. The day I went, after waiting hours, the clouds cleared just enough for a good view that lasted about 20 minutes. Was well worth the trip and the wait.

In Switzerland people have quality of life. How is there should be in Mexico (begining with me politicians). You should stay to live there for a while, you'll love it.

I'm loving these Swiss videos so much! Although I must say, that $12 for two measly chicken breasts hurt deep. I'm so thankful I can get that same amount (if not more) for less than $1 here in Tbilisi, Georgia. 😭 I hope you two will visit Georgia one day, I think you'd love it! 🇬🇪

I briefly attended a kindergarten in Kloten in Switzerland. Beautiful area. My maternal family is in Austria near Vienna but we usually spend most of our time in Salzbug, our favorite city on earth and the place my mother met my father at the end of WW2. My sister was also born in Salzbug. You need to add Salzburg and the Salzkammergut region to your bucket list, you won't regret it! (If you have seen the movie "The Sound of Music" it was filmed in and around Salzburg.)

Be aware when you go to Bavaria to see Neuschwanstein, there are a number of great castles, the Linderhof should not be missed, and is very nearby. Not to mention you’ll be at the foot of the Zugspitze, the highest peak in the Alps. You can tram up and take hiking trails, etc. So much beauty and adventure in Bayern (Bavaria), viel spass!!

Why don’t you download the map of Zurich on Google Maps when you have access to wifi? Then you can use it without burning data and save some time looking for places.

I’m sooo glad to see you guys in EUROPE!!! Yeah! I was maybe a couple years older than you when I had the opportunity to tour Continental Europe on a first class tour. The cheese fondue brought back memories of how delicious it was. We went to Lucerne, not Zurich but both are very beautiful! We went to London, Paris, Lucerne, Florence, Venice and Rome...in that order. A trip I will never forget and it was more than 30 years ago! Enjoy and cherish all of your experiences there. Btw, you will LOVE ITALY! I’m looking so forward to seeing all your videos across Europe. You are very lucky to be in a position to travel there! Have fun!

Hi kids! YES, Switzerland is very expensive. Head south to Spain/Portugal for less expensive and tasty groceries before you leave!

The best part of the fondue is when you scrape the bottom of the burnt cheese... It's an absolute must for you to do and you mustn't forget to do it . And it's delicious You must eat the bread whole don't cut it There's a game in fondue that you play .... Whoever accidentally drops the bread in the cheese has to drink a glass of wine There are hundreds and hundreds of types of cheese in Switzerland and you don't need to eat them as a fondue. Another one is RACCLETTE melted cheese over potatoes pickles and dried meats and whatever takes your fancy

Personally, I hate the term "bucket list" because I believe it often trivializes great sites (just a checkbox on a list) and discourages people from getting a deeper understanding (physically, culturally, etc.) of a place. I know that the two of you are thoughtful and respectful of cultures outside the US, so keep on having great adventures!

The convenience stores are always much more expensive then ordinary grocery stores. I would say that they are like twice as expensive. Try and find a grocery store instead if you don´t want to pay so much.

Gruyère cheese! My first fondue experience was in Vevey, near Lake Lausanne. It was a million years ago but I remember it very well. I haven’t had fondue since!! What’s with that? It’s actually kind of pricey here in the USA.

Just one man's opinion, but if this might be your only European trip (at least for a while), you picked the worst and most expensive one for what you get. Like, literally any of its immediate neighbours would have been better.

But why on earth have you never had fondue before?? You can find places that serve it all over the US and even in Mexico....hmmmmm : ) Also, I gotta say maybe the video doesn't do it justice but Zurich looks drab and grey to me or maybe it's the time of year.

Please get outside of Zurich... its nothing of a city ... get to Bern on your way to Zermatt !!
