To me, this a real street racing. Street cars. No big tires. Cars you can really drive on the street without much notice. What they do on Street Outlaws is basically track racing on a street. Its entertaining and I like the show, but its not "street" racing when you have a 2000 HP car with big tires, wheelie bar and chute.
I had a feeling the turbo fox @ 2:40 was going to spin its azz off. I learned a long time ago that a John Force burnout won't always adequately heat the tires up like a longer low rpm burnout will. You gotta shock the rubber. A lot of people don't realize that you can overheat a tire. Ever done like 4 burnout and still spin? Its a science lol
That's really interesting do you know anymore about pre race burnouts? I don't know a ton about them I just heard that they clean off the rubber and warm it up. I always thought people doing big burnouts was kind of a waste. Interesting so a longer low rpm burnout is better I never knew that. One thing I do know is that you can tell how fast a car is by the burnout, or at least it gives you a good idea of the power level.
sirgallium It's mostly about learning about the specific rubber compound on your street/drag radial/racing slick of your choice. Tire pressure is the most important and a prepped surface never hurts but with a car under 500-600hp you should have no problem hooking up track or street with the proper burnout and tire pressure. Depending on your tire size, I would experiment what would be best for your setup by starting at 20psi and going down from there by 2psi increments. You'll figure it out what's best soon enough.
One thing this video showed me is that no matter how much HP you have it's pointless if you can't put the power down and stay in it. Dyno queens don't win races!
Please more videos like this! Getting sick and tired of the drag strip videos. There's something more entertaining about these videos, maybe because of the uncertainty factor of the streets...
This is probably the most ready I've seen anybody else for cash days street racing except for the flagger. They have cones to mark the start and finish lines, they have lights in the cones at the finish line, they have flares on the center line, they have a torch ready also. Flagger sucks but otherwise good racing.
GaryODST fucked over? the dude fucking jumped before the light hit! if you don't see the light on don't fucking leave. simple. his nerves got the best of him
he waited a extra second, just like later he did it a second earlier, gotta keep it different so people dont start jumping based of what they feel. you wait for the light, and he jumped the light.
iSoldierPanda was wondering the same. Maybe was supposed to be a bye run and went for fun or else broke. Stupid corvette was back for 2nd round. Didn't seem too fast tho. Bogged on the start.
The trophy said Dec 3rd 2016 and you're just now putting the footage up on youtube? LUL I always figured some of these videos were posted late but damn man 3 months really?
Few people complaining about the flagger being inconsistent dont realize that its so people dont memorize it and tree the other car. You're supposed to leave when the light comes on, this isnt the strip.
Boss Dude you are correct! I thought it was some good "street racing" not sure it should be called "cash days" because CASH DAY'S is only in DFW but real street racing none the less!
Cold Karma Supras are beast! I agree! But also consider they need a lot of boost to make power! Plus they need to be built to handle the power most of these guys throw at them.
Cold Karma I'm not downing them by any means! I would totally build one if I had the money but hp/dollar there are better options out there. That's why I went with a mustang. I know a lot of people don't like them but for the cost and how much you can boost them from factory it's definitely a good deal!
Man street racing has transitioned from building their own muscles cars and running 12s to these freaking rocket ships that are computer controlled and nothing on the car is stock. It's turning into a rich mans game.
M.R.I.A allows you to get the engine into higher rpm where you'll launch harder off the line. It engages reverse and forward gears to hold you in place.
Actually, not exactly. My dream car is a Supra, but there are faster/better cars out there. I just love the clean look/lines and a screaming single turbo 2JZ
So I've just noticed that dad's friend used to own an 800bhp 1970 Challenger RT. Only part of the story I knew, she got stolen. And used in a terrorist bombing. Poor thing.....
