Now that the rear end gears are done and back together in this Ford 8.8 rear end it's over to the alignment rack to make sure this Street Racing Channel Falcon flies straight! Race car alignments are a big portion of what we do here and while they ARE similar to a standard car alignment in many ways there are a whole lot more variable you can control and tolerances can be much much more important.
One of the things we are lucky with about the SRC Falcon is we have a whole lot of data we can use on how this car has performed already. We KNOW how it drives, we KNOW how it hooks, we KNOW it's behavior at speed, so we can use that information to dial in an alignment even better. Much of the time when we are setting up a drag race alignment for a new customer or a new build project we have to take an "educated guess" then get feedback once the vehicle hits the track and gets some data. Lucky for us the SRC and The Old Man's Garage folks have let us play with their toys quite a bit, and are no strangers to our steering and suspension setups.
