What I do as a tai chi master stunt coordinator I pinch between the ass cheek and the leg it’s called a monkey bite it’s like getting hit with a couple thousand volts of electricity from the pinch
You can do that in most cases about 70% of it.the other 30% + unfortunately will not work for the ladies, children, grandparents.. Somebody was over dominating the strength and the power and the weight…. My opinion they are few other better moves out there less strenuous much quicker. Good luck you guys….
This works wonders unless the guy decides to do something silly like, you know, NOT inexplicably let go of your head just because you pushed his hip with your shoulder.
@@CwBDaveis.716 this wont work mate not a chance. Matt serra has a good headlock escape where you block the hip , step between the legs and actually fall back.
@@johnbryant5338 that’s the most common escape for a headlock in jiu jitsu. I think Ricardo wanted to show something where you’re not on the ground at the end.
I have a suggestion. Go to Philadelphia and put Rick in a headlock. Make sure you have all your affairs in order before you do that though. Have it videoed so you can show us how it didn’t work. 🤣
@Nic Otero Dork?!?! Lmao! I’ve trained since I’ve been 7 years old. Started wrestling and have done almost every single grappling art with the exception of catch. But hey, what do I know
I've been in plenty of street fights, been hit and stuck with objects. I've also hurt my back once before, one good time. I'd rather lose a street fight and get stitched up than hurt my back again.
you smack him in the balls first and then you're lean to the side to knock him off balance and you twist your shoulder to slip off the headlock and when you still holding on to his legs you can lift him push him to the ground then u can punch him in the face or kick him or stump on his face....... when you can't get up just walk away....
Right. I'll tell you from experience that you'll more likely end up getting your head driven into the pavement with the guys full bodyweight coming down on top of you, and still in a headlock.
Moderately effective at getting out of the standing side headlock portrayed in this video. Most effective is to join both palms of your hand together and drive them into the gap below your chin with your entire upper torso weight which will widen the gap enough to get free.
Really love this stuff..be so good if most schools could implement this into there fitness routine to help girls with self defense and confidence..and boys.👍
I am also a life long judoka. Why does it make you crazy? Is it because that valley drop is there all day as well as a host of other throws or is it because what he is demonstrating isn’t in my opinion the most practical technique for that situation?
If its a choke then it could be a problem. But a headlock is just a lock if Im not wrong. Let them waste their energy on things that dont really improve their position
@@de0509 respectfully id say if you are in a head lock your in trouble.. id liken this technique to a suicide throw... you'd have to hope the attacker lets go... id probably try some other stuff before this If im honest.
@@johnh9243 you could go behind and grab the legs, try to shift their balance, and lift them kinda horizontally like holding a guitar. Shifts the pressure to the back of the neck. They can keep holding on if they want to but youre standing with legs and they need to use arms to keep you in the lock. For this particular tactic, they will tire out first. For front head locks imo a similar tactic is best. The tactic being forcing them to use their small muscles to lift your weight if they really really want that lock. Tbh Im not such a serious martial artist but Ive used this once to great effect. Got out in less than 15 seconds. Its the one where you drop the butt low and squat and barely support your own weight. If they want to keep the lock, it would be almost piling 100% of the effort on their arms instead of your legs.
@@johnh9243 sweep the legs best way is to grab his nuts i can tell you thet let go been in a fight this happened stright for the nuts gota be dirty on the streets folk dont play fair more gota keep it real
I've never tried this particular escape before. I've trained jiu jitsu for two years and I've been shown some headlock escapes, the easier being to grab the thumb, twist and break the grip.
You have his back, and decide to escape to a neutral position where he can easily attack you. He can also "smack or control you to the ground" as well.
The best thing to do is be quick and slip out before its set in fully. Thats what has worked for me. You are also in a position to throw them.or take them down.
One move I’ve done before is when you’re in the bent over position, wrap your arms around both his legs. The inside of your forearms should be at the back of his knees. Pull them together, then raise your legs straight up, you’ll slam him. I’m no martial artist, but I’ve done this a couple times, and it works. You don’t gotta be super strong even for heavier guys, because even if you aren’t slamming dude, you’re atleast lifting him enough to drop him on his back.
tried it few times: against someone who headlock you squeezing down , you cant or its diffucult to do it coz you firstly have to fight to keep your balance and to stay up.
@Disgruntled Simp Mod lol sit down bro. There are dozens of ways to advance position here. Your class was not teaching you to survive a street fight, they were teaching you to chain together moves to win a jits match. He had the back in a street fight and your answer is to commit to a single leg. The smart thing to do is to keep the back and disengage. Not to engage in a takedown in a public area. If you single leg my friend, I'm soccer kicking your head to give you a flappy neck. Do not confuse your class with surviving a street encounter. What keeps you safe on the mat doesnt keep you safe from bystanders. ..also chill on the big boy talk. No need to tell people they are "doing it wrong" because your dumb ass is doing it wrong for a fact. Go clean your white belt
@Disgruntled Simp Mod dunno y he wouldnt go for takedown once taking single leg though. And also this isn’t very realistic. In bjj it doesnt take into account that your opponent will be punching you in that position and whilst sparring in bjj even you have to watch out for them going for takedown or switching to better position so to assume someone will just stay in this position if very positive thinking, and if they pull like half guard with that headlock, you can get some hits in but they will have ground control to turn you and possible get mount or your back depending on which leg is trapped. Unless the dude choking you is doing nothing but holding you there or going for a bulldog choke in that position, it’s not the best position to be in. If he’s not doing anything you can easily get a suplex on him as well. Or a judo throw. But resisting opponent especially if he’s trained as well won’t just be looking to maintain that position in that way and it won’t be so easy to get out if he puts up said resistance or goes on the offensive as described above or in other ways.
No freakin way. It looks nice on paper but that headlock is going to be tight and he’s not letting go because of a shiver. Taking him back to the ground and you getting on top would be the better move. And if he didn’t let go of the headlock, you would still be on top and in control. This is simple wrestling 101 for the street.
Looks easy, but Pissed up geezers outside the boozer on a Friday night ain’t quite so compliant as your friend there! They don’t move when you ask them to either!
Drunk guys are the best ones to fight because of the cool ,clam ,and collected who aims and shoots his weapons straight is a BMF like me. And I’m not talking real guns I’m not like all these little soft ass bitches running around the world actually shooting mtf over stupidity instead of using the guns they have already attached to themselves and give or take the ass whooping and still go home. I remember when I first started my mma days and coach would let us bring the beef to the cage lol 😂 those were fun nights. 👋🏽👊🏽💪🏽👍🏽🙏🏽❤️🇲🇽🇺🇸
Getting him off like that, with him facing you and still standing, I'd worry that it would give him opportunity to follow up with strikes. A headlock defense I prefer from that position is to reach around his back with my right arm, thread my right hand through the crook of his right arm and hook and control his right arm at the crook of his elbow (this is not only a point of leverage, but also stops him from disengaging the headlock to strike you). Then I block behind his left knee with my left palm, take a half circle step backwards with my right leg, while pulling my right arm back, and he goes down. If he holds onto the headlock, the worse that happens is you end up in side control, at which point you can position the underside of your forearms on his face and ribs, arch your back and look to the sky, and the leverage plus pain will break the headlock, and position you to either follow up with side control, armbar, strikes or just get up and run away.
all fingers forward but slightly bent, straight to the eyes, repeatedly fast . Watch how fast you're dropped. If when dropped he has his hands to his face, either run or attack, depending on your skill level. Worried about blinding him? Well do you think he was bothered about strangling you? Strike the eyes!
I saw a karate demo where the guy in the head lock reached in and pinched a large part of the attackers inner thigh and then twisted! The attackers leg went up and his other leg was swepted. All the while he was “owing” his head off!
I have a marine hand to hand combat book that describes a very different technique for a headlock. It involves the dangly bits and grabbing, twisting and tearing of said bits. Not sure which will be more effective 🤣🤣
I can't say that technique works or not. I have no experience about that. But the problem is that the attacker can easily punch his face while he tries to free himself. He can even put a finger into his eye. So first of all he should protect his face and then he can try to apply any technique. Actually, there is something I remember from aikido classes about strangling or choking. I know it's a very poor martial art in real fight but this can be useful. In the moment when you feel that someone is grabbing your head, put your head down, your chin has to touch your chest. Than your attacker can't grab you properly and you can still breath. I mean he can't grab you properly immediately. He'll need some time to do that. So you are buying yourself time to do something. I don't know what because I doubt that aikido technique I learnt could work (and I haven't practise it for years) but still you get at least a couple of seconds. Because when someone grabs you and chokes you, you can't breath and you lose yourenergy and strength very quickly.
Remember in a street fight the person most willing to do extreme violence against the other will survive, techniques are useless unless you can do them without thinking, just natural instinct
Right hand up his left shoulder, lock it putting your left hand in right hand, pull down while you Re getting up. It doesnt break shoulder, but the head lock turns into very bad shoulder lock. Every time works, in street fight Or at sparring. Saved several times.
Stamp on top of the foot with everything you have also would work. Footwear dependant on the attacker. Lots of little bones that are easily broken. We train for that.
I got into one of those in a street fight i tried breaking up, but the lad misjudged and thought i was attacking his mate. I wound up on the ground on my knees, still in the headlock. I remember thinkin im about to pass out soon if i don't do anything. Got my arm closest to him around his back/waist and then just hit him in the stomach with the other, three times and then he let leg go and was laying on his back gasping for air. Not sure if i were just lucky to hit the sweet spot, but it sure worked!
Left ridge hand to the balls. Game over. Jeet Kune Do. Simple direct and efficient. Scientific street fighting. The founder of Jeet Kune Do, the one and only Bruce Lee The Legend The Best Ever 👌
Wouldn’t going behind the leg and lifting backwards be better? May cause stress on the back but you could slam him with your neck straight? If he’s hooked in on you tight under the chin the move keeps him upright?
Base yourself. By dropping your weight keeping that right knee there behind his left leg...get your right hand over his left shoulder and under his neck pull up and back....ensure you have control of tht right hand between the biceps and forearm while turning into the direction that you're moving his head. Very efficient and safe...you can finish or have enough time to deal with another opponent if that's the case.
@@Observe555 well he's right that the guy is giving you his hips when he puts you in the head lock. That move might not break his grip, so you need to know how to follow up if it doesn't work. I prefure the body lock to the single personally. if he's big and he takes you down with the headlock, you need to have a few reversals there too. Head locks are shit moves that we don't use as martial artists, but we still need to train for them, because a big enough dummy can still hurt you with them
these people are on another planet only had a fight in the gym some nutter has them by the neck twisting up and down left and right trying to break there neck tight grip yes this will work
