The only thing NOT 90s in this was that the cop didn't just immediately arrest you, claiming the store owners already asked you to leave several times, just to he a dick. I got arrested constantly for quietly skateboarding in the mid 90s in the middle of the country U.S., large Iowa town. Everyone HATED skateboarders. Same here I switch to bigger board after 15 years. I have an 8.38 as my flip truck flat ground(14wb) and an 8.5 (14-14.25wb). I rode a 7.5 alien workshop in 1999 2000. In 97 I rode a 7.75 think board. It rook so much time to relearn kickfilps on a bigger setup. Heelflip were no problem but the timing flick and adjust the catch was a long process o. The 8.5 ,8.38 but I can pop them high like I want and they came together looking so good. Now if the bigger board help with my consistency then Gucci gang gang. One love. Thank for the videos really really helpful when I got a brand new deck and was so madbut you help me realize it had a 14.48 wheelbase that's why it felt so soggy like dead azz. I was always told for street and flip tricks you want a narrow board and for vert/transition you want a wider board. At the end of the day you can do any of em with any board, some just make it easier. I started up again on an 8 inch deck, after wearing it out a bit I grabbed a 7.75 and I'm still getting used to it. I just came up on an 8.75 though and have a new backup 8 deck so I guess I'm the "setups" guy now lol.

I grew up in the 2000s on 7.5-7.75 and you have tempted me to go back to them. My old setup was always krux down low 7.5s on ricta 52mm and bones bearings. Boards changed around but 2 of my favorites were a flip and a foundation. May try to get a 7.75 next month to try. Been on 8.25 since I got back into skating.

Dude I skated from like 05-13(6th grade-11th) and I legit used to ride 7.25-7.5 decks for fun. The amount of insane flip tricks I could pull off with those tiny decks was crazy. My “safe” spot was 7.75 tho, had enough space on the deck for flips, grinds and for doing gaps lol.

I'm 42 and have skated 7.75 with low ventures ever since 7.5 decks disappeared. I have a few different setups for big transition and cruising but for everyday street skating and mini ramp I use the 7.75. I find it funny how offended some skaters get at my 'small deck and low trucks'. I'm not trying to convince anyone that they should change their setup so why do younger less experienced skaters try convincing me that I'm skating the wrong skateboard.

Right on man you do you! Im 33 y/o, 5'10" size 9.5/10. I recently found my old 7.6 Venture Awake Highs and Indy Stage 8 129's. Im deciding on a board size. I bought a board 8" X 14 WB to go along with the wide board trend im noticing after just coming back to the scene but think ill downsize to a 7.75. I like the nostalgia of small board/wheels. 52mm wheels

Im 35 and just got back into skating, still have my 7.625 board. Holy hell, i had no idea how the sizing shifted for eveyone. I was at a local skate shoo trying to upgrade my board, and they were looking at me like a caveman when i started asking for my size, let alone 7.75. Anyone old heads out there feel the difference hoping to an 8 from 7.75 or under?

Boards depend on the type of skating to me. I'm a tech skater so I do alot flip in flip out , manuals, rodney mullen type skating. Which I find 7.5 worksbetter. Most skaters that I know that skate 8.0 or bigger , skate like stairs, rails , banks, wallrides , vert , incline , etc. To each his own .

I just realised in end of the video that I watched just keep skating channel and not ben degros channel, Ben thank you for informing me about that In end of video, I have a interesting video suggestion if ifnit works and possible if trying if you could make a video where you try baseplate and hanger from two different truck companies and see if they can be put together for example indy baseplate with thunder trucks or and vice verse maybe also trying with a venture or what ever of truck brands where you think such things could be good and funny to try to mix trucks.
