A variety of interesting products were offered by NYC's street merchants in 1988, but Albert didn't find anything that he wanted. Video by Nelson Sullivan
There's a lot to unpack. I was born and raised in Alphabet City (still live here) and was a senior in high school in 1988. These videos are a time capsule to me and bittersweet because the city seems to familiar and so foreign at the same time. I'm 50 now and those days are long gone. Good times though. If you needed a rusty antenna for your TV, St. Mark's Place was your spot!
I Love Love Love The Cars from the 80' s.....I had a 1977 Monte Carlo....back then. I worked in the City in 1989..... It was a Great time in NYC...... Gritty, Dirty, Edgy..... Loved shopping on 23rd Street.... And by The Port Authority...... This Video takes me back there to the New York I Love......!!😊
Nelson was a cousin of mine that I never got to meet he died before I got to meet him and I was too young anyways. But watching his home videos all my life really made me fall in love with him and I've never met him we are related and people always get so mad at me every time I say that but it's true I'm not saying I'm related for clout. My mother is a Sullivan how many and we share relatives down in California as well well we did anyways a lot of them passed away
The ShawShank Preneur Yeah thank you :)...I did read that in one of his videos...would love to see Dick Richards now. I think he is the one from McDonald’s video?
MilesAndHeights it's the same Dick from the videos. He is the one who is digitizing (expensive to do) and is uploading these videos. He owns the youtube channel. Did you know that Nelson Sulivan after death is worth 11 million dollars?
The ShawShank Preneur that's now. Even after he died. I have no idea. I found it online. IMDB has him listed as a director who made 2 movies. He also knew all these people who themselves are worth millions. Rupaul is worth 7 million, Michael Mustos net worth is 1.5 million, Lady Bunny is worth 400,000 and Michael Alig is worth 30,000 (he was charged with first degree manslaughter after he shot someone over an unpaid drug debt,he served 17 years in prison). Even back in the day they were very successful. Nelson mentions a few times that some of his friends have to borrow money and he was able to pay for film which was very expensive at the time. He also went on a lot of trips down south to Georgia which is something that would have taken at least 2 days. Sorry lol. I'm rambling. You should read some interviews with Dick Richards about Nelson. He explains everything.
Michael I believe that it could be worth this much...like this is treasure, a true time travel...the pple bk then are still arnd, I mean most of them and much older but when u watch the videos it feels like ur in that era..I just hope Nelson was arnd to see his success...bk then he must hv been that annoying person with camera making ‘home’ videos...I really hope Dick makes a video talking abt Nelson and how were things after his death
i have a LG G6 it costs 700 dollars and i dont touch it while im walking or out of my house. I only touch it if i recieve a call or i have to use google maps to find a place.
Exactly! The person who typed that couldn't be from NY with that statement lol. That was when the crack epidemic and drugs in general was at an all time high in NYC lol
Albert and Michael must said nasty things when Nelson died like he's only famous because he had a video camera never would of been without a camera so nasty those two guys no one is truly your friend and not who talk crap behide your back it's evil backstab your friends. Nelson's the winner not Albert or mike
